Garston Farm The Stables in the Peak District Alton.

The accommodation was cozy, the amenities for our stay were excellent, could do with a night light in the corridors near the bathrooms so you could see where you were going, bath and showers hot, meet Arthur & Murphy the goats could see the alpacas & sheep, did get concerned as one of the sheep had escaped 2 mornings on the trot and cars were pretty fast in the lane. The star inn near Cotton for Sunday lunch food was amazing but we booked the table and was glad we did as it was busy. We wound also recommend the Bowling Green pub in Ashbourne for meals, the food service was excellent great value.

The house was immaculate . This was our base for Alton Towers. We went three times.! My boys loved seeing the goats and the little kittens thanks for an enjoyable stay we will be back.

What a fantastic cottage.

Both Julie and Jason were very welcoming. The cottage was immaculate throughout. The beds were exceptionally comfortable however we (there was 4 of us) all felt the corner sofa unit and the two chairs were not very comfortable. Especially if you are not very tall as the sofa was quite deep in the seat. That said it was the only issue we had. And perhaps being more mature we prefer something that supports the back. Garston Farm is a perfect place in the Peak District to visit many surrounding areas. There is a lot to do if you have young children plus Alton Towers is not that far away. We however, preferred to visit the many National Trust properties so it is more that suitable for the more mature person too. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend The stables to anyone wanting to visit that area.

We stayed here as a family of 5 for 4 nights.

The welcome of gifts of prosecco and biscuits were much appreciated. The property is beautiful and a perfect location from Alton towers (only a 12 minute drive). It was the perfect base to come back to after a long day. The property has everything you need. My only regret is that we didn't book to stay for longer. We will definitely be back again.

Gorgeous place, perfect for Alton towers trips

The Stables is a wonderful holiday home, and we were made very welcome by great hosts, the house is outstanding with a terrific location which enabled us to have a marvellous holiday with visits everyday always returning to a very comfortable and well equipped house with excellent parking.

Add to this we saw a goat on a trampoline for the first time! Put simply could not recommend highly enough.

Third time in 12 months as my wife is from Staffordshire and wanted somewhere near Hanley to visit the family Grave to lay a wreath. Accommodation at the stables was as comfortable as the first time and the host met us as we arrived and chatted,explaining any problems just ring.

Beautiful place, welcoming hosts, prosecco a lovely touch.

Crisp clean linen on beds and heating is great. Jason and Julie very welcoming and parking ample for 3 cars. Sakes didn't make us aware there are 3 properties to rent on site, this is useful to know for the future. Julie showed us round the 4 bed which is stunning too. Check out the Huntsman pub, amazing food and the pizzas are lush. Sunday lunch was delicious at the Pub in Foxt too.

The Stables is a fabulously quiet and peaceful holiday home.

Plenty of space to park, plenty of space inside. The place was spotlessly clean. It was very pleasant to sit out in the early evening, watching the sheep. There are plenty of places to eat around the local area, although none within easy walking distance. We highly recommend The Stables for a holiday in the countryside.

Our second stay at The Stables and we had the loveliest time once again.

A great base to explore and enjoy the surrounding area. So comfortable and cosy to come back to of an evening to really relax. Thank you again Julie and Jason for another lovely holiday.

We had a wonderful time at The Stables.

We were welcomed by the owner, and then quickly settled in. The property was beautifully decorated, with so many lovely details, and had all the amenities you would need. The sheep and llamas were also very friendly in the nearby field. The location was beautiful, and we could easily enjoy day trips to Chatsworth and the Peak District. We also visited the potteries in Stoke, which were so interesting. The Stables was a wonderful peaceful place to return to at the end of busy days, and we were very sad to leave. Would highly recommend. Thank you for a lovely stay.

for him he loved the black alpaca it's was very cute ,adorable Tom said he named him sooty,we were welcomed by Jason who was so lovely and friendly,his wife Julie was so responsive when we needed anything, Jason sorted it asap,I'm having chemotherapy my cancer has spread, this holiday was to help us all make precious memories for my children well young adults, I have not slept in months ,I have slept every night for a week since arrival comfortable beds,alas,beautiful walks,friendly people, just made our holiday extra special, Thomas wants to return so I made a promise to keep fighting so we can celebrate our Ruby wedding anniversary 40yrs,and my daughter 21st birthday, so Julie and Jason will be seeing us again, thankyou for bubbly,and biscuits, and thankyou for everything you did for us much appreciated angie,Mike, Vincent and Thomas x

The Stables was a beautiful place to stay.

The views across the countryside were amazing. There were sheep across the road from the accommodation and also 3 llamas. Perfect base for getting to various walks and not to long of a drive to Matlock and Bakewell. Accommodation was spotlessly clean and decor was lovely and homely. Great size bedrooms and everything you needed was there. Even the added extra of an airfryer!! Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. I left my denim jacket and the owner is kindly posting it back to me. Definitely recommend staying here and if we visit the area again I would book The Stables with no hesitation.

A massive thank you to the owners of this amazing cottage and for making our stay so pleasant & comfortable.

Every detail at this property has been carefully thought out to make your stay enjoyable. Easily 5 stars in every area. We chose this cottage due to how near it was to Foxtail barns wedding venue as our daughter was getting married midweek. The cottage comfortably accommodated all of us - parents, daughter & bridesmaids. The owners went above and beyond on the day of the wedding to make sure everything ran smoothly, with allowing us extra parking with the needs of the wedding. The site even has other properties you could book if you had a bigger wedding party. In summary I can't recommend this place high enough, The scenery is stunning with beautiful animals close by, the beds were so comfortable and the owners felt more like family than business owners.

Fantastic place for us to use for a family get together.

As 6 people (3 couples) the 3 double bedrooms were great and the two bathrooms were plenty for us. Large kitchen / living area with dining table was also great and bib enough that we didn't get underneath each others feet. More than enough parking for 3 cars. It was snowy and cold (-6 overnight) while we were staying but The Stables was warm and cozy with easily adjustable heating if we felt that we needed a boost. Beautiful surroundings and in easy reach of several pubs for meals and shops. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Highly recommend and The Stables is certainly somewhere we would like to visit again when we have another get together.

Wonderful comfortable home from home accommodation.

The stables had everything we needed, very comfortable beds, spotlessly clean, what a wonderful surprise to find an air fryer we made good use of this, saved having to use the oven, especially useful when cooking for 2 children. The Stables is in a peaceful location, but well situated for visiting the surrounding areas, only 10 minutes to Alton towers, 45 minutes to Bakewell, 35 minutes to Buxton and 45 minutes to the Denby Factory for a tour, 20 minutes to Ashbourne all worth a visit. The owners are extremely helpful if you need to ask anything about the accommodation. We were all sad for our holiday to end, after a wonderful week staying at the stables. We will definitely be recommending it to family and friends, and revisiting in the future.

The property was perfectly placed for visiting Stoke, Alton towers and Matlock Bath.

The scenery was beautiful and it is a real countryside retreat. The cottage had everything we needed and the decor is very pretty and it is maintained to an excellent standard. Our children loved the idea of staying on a farm and visiting the sheep in the evening! Hopefully we will be back again in the future for another holiday.

A beautiful property situated in rural Staffordshire.

Very well appointed, immaculately and tastefully decorated with a “bee” theme. The hosts Julie and Jason were very helpful. Ideal for a quiet break with the Llamas and by the way pets are also allowed I suppose but need to be confirmed. Wonderful experience and hopefully will go back sometime…….soon.

Everything you could possibly need was provided. Super comfy beds, plenty of towels, smart TVs in each of the rooms and great showers. We stay in a number of properties each year and this one will certainly be hard to beat! Lots to do in the local area too.

Delightful property.

Due to circumstances we spent a lot time in the cottage during our two week February stay. We couldn't have been in a better place . Immaculately clean,warm,and comfortable. So well equipped and tastefully furnished. Luxury beds, piping hot showers, fast Wi-Fi with smart tv's in every room. All this plus the peace and quiet of the rural location. Julie and Jason are the friendliest hosts and greeted us with a lovely bottle of fizz and handmade local biscuits. If you find a vacancy, don't hesitate to book. Like us,you'll want to return.

A fantastic tranquil, well equipped cottage.

Beautiful countryside yet close to major attractions like Alton Towers and Peak Wildlife Park. Everything you could need was provided and lots of hot water for a family's worth of showers. Alpacas and Blacknosed Sheep were an added bonus. Would definately recommend a holiday at The Stables.

The decor was beautiful and the location idyllic. There were plenty of places to take the children out for the afternoon close by and it was great to have a smart TV in the rooms. I would highly recommend to anyone .

The Stables is a beautiful cottage , spacious, modern and spotless.

We had a family wedding in the area so booked The Stables as a base, definitely wished we had stayed longer. It’s in the most beautiful surroundings and it felt so relaxing. The heated pod in the garden was just perfect to watch the sunrise through the trees with a nice cuppa, used it in the evenings to enjoy the peace and quiet. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds were very comfortable. Julie and Jason are lovely hosts and nothing was to much trouble. Thank you for providing such a relaxing time. Would whole heartedly recommend.

The Stables is very tastefully decorated & well maintained in a peaceful setting.

The bed was comfy as was the sofa. The bathrooms are contemporary with good storage space. We had a warm welcome from Julie & Jason kindly helped us with the heating controls. The parking area is very good. The Stables is an excellent place to stay. Do take your own tea, coffee & milk as it is not provided, to have with the delicious biscuits the owners provide. In the evening you can enjoy the prosecco! Thank you.

This is a fabulous place to stay, it was our second visit but will soon be back for a third.

Very comfortable and clean, decor modern and welcoming, so relaxing, and owners a lovely couple, nothing too much trouble. If you need some relaxation this is the place.

We had a lovely week at The Stables in the Easter Holidays.

We stayed with 2 babies and the two downstairs bedrooms was ideal! There was nothing else we needed for a very comfortable week. Well equipped kitchen comfortable sitting area. The beds were comfortable and plenty of space to put things away. The bathroom was downstairs.there was a powerful shower upstairs which was a real treat. Situated just off a main route but you would not know. The alpacas sheep and horses nearby kept our 6 year old more than occupied. Several places of interest. Alton towers and the Peak Wildlife park only a few miles away. Bakewell and Buxton not so far either. We cannot thank our hosts enough for making our week so enjoyable. The free hen eggs were delicious. A stay here is highly recommended!

Lovely, well kept cottage that was both modern and spotless.

We liked the no shoe policy but the stones from the garden always found their way inside! Lovely heated pod in garden and small play house for kids. Great base for Alton Towers. Would recommend to others and look to stay if in the area again.

. from start to finish our cottage break was fantastic. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and is finished to a very high standard. Julie and Jason are great hosts and nothing was to much trouble. We book with Sykes 4/5 times a year and this has to be my favourite by a long mile. Stunning views and walks all topped off by the amazing animals on the farm. We will definitely be returning. Don’t hesitate to book this wonderful cottage you won’t be disappointed. We booked a quiet week away for my Mum's 70th Birthday celebrations.

What a perfect find! The cottage was beautifully presented, warm and welcoming. The hosts were very helpful prior to and on arrival and we were greeted with a lovely bottle of bubbly, orange juice and a box of delicious biscuits. Will definitely return, thank you for your hospitality and wonderful accommodation.

Plenty of walks and other activities all within a 30 minutes drive. Our group of five had a fabulous break and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the cottage to anyone.

The Stables was a beautiful cottage in an idyllic spot.

Lots of original beams to show the history of the building but really well modernised with excellent showers and all of the equipment needed to cook on a self catering holiday. We had a lovely stay and would definitely choose to stay here again if holidaying in this area.

Very quiet at all times yet close enough to the Peak District and Alton Towers. The owners were very nice and welcoming. The cottage was immaculate with three good bedrooms, all double plus two bath/shower rooms. The kitchen was well equipped. Everything looked new throughout. Excellent.

The Stables was probably the best accommodation we have stayed in.

A beautiful finish throughout with meticulous attention to detail. The design was well thought out and very attractive. The location was perfect and the surrounding countryside was lovely.

Best cottage we have stayed at and have visited quite a few. The Stables was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean with everything you need for a short break and more. Yummy treats and a bottle of Fizz greeted us upon arrival and the location is beautiful. Spent evenings playing cards and games which were provided in the lovely garden overlooking the sheep and alpacas, the garden has a heated seating pod, blankets/cushions so would be perfect anytime. Really couldn't fault it, can't wait to return!
