A superb holiday home, lots of space and quirks.

Mel and George have thought of everything needed to make a stay comfortable and relaxing, and in pristine condition. They are very friendly, helpful hosts. The stairs are twisting and steep but are wide and have a good handrail. The only thing I would suggest is to add a handhold at the top as the rail stops before the last step. It is a good base for exploring the area.

Very comfortable, clean accommodation run by friendly and helpful hosts.

Generous welcome pack on arrival. Unique property with character rooms, (low beams in places!) and lots of home comforts. Private sitting out garden area and easy car parking space. Short drive to all amenities.

Mel and George gave us the most friendly welcome, telling us that if we needed anything, we had only to ask.

very clean and spacious, with very well equipped kitchen, bathroom was amazing.No problem keeping warm with the Heating and log burner. The owners were great, all in we had a great time and would not hesitate to return.

Bluebell Cottage is a very comfortable, relaxing place in which to stay.

Every need has been thought of, from furnishings to the very well organised and equipped kitchen. WE stayed in some very cold weather, and the cottage was cosy and warm. We were able to visit the National Memorial Arboretum - a must, Wightwick Manor and Lichfield Cathedral, all within easy distance. Mel was an excellent host. We hope to return.

We were delighted with the exceptionally high quality of all the fittings, furniture, and decor of this beautifully restored cottage.

The charm and character of the original building has been enhanced by sympathetic refurbishment and attention to detail. We have stayed in dozens of self-catering cottages over the years, and Bluebell Cottage is definitely the very best of the lot. The cottage is also very well situated as a base to explore Cannock Chase and the Staffordshire Moorlands: the highlight of our stay was a day spent at the National Memorial Arboretum, a wonderful place in so many ways, only 12 miles away from Bluebell Cottage. I should also like to mention that owner Mel was very friendly and very helpful, making sure that everything was perfect for our short holiday.

Mel was very friendly and helpful. The cottage is furnished and fitted out to a high standard, with everything you need in the kitchen. The bedroom was lovely with the most comfortable bed, and lovely window views. We enjoyed the fire, in the evenings, and also the games room for doing jigsaws and Jenga. The bathroom is luxury, never seen one like this! We explored the local area each day, the forest is magnificent, and nearby towns lovely. Trees everywhere! We recommend Bluebell and would return. Thanks!

The cottage has everything you could need and more. It was clean and cosy and the hosts made us feel very welcome. It’s the perfect place to stay for families, as there’s lots to do near by, and the cottage is well catered for little ones. Getting to feed to sheep each day was a lovely bonus.

What a fantastic property Bluebell Cottage is!

We all absolutely loved staying here. It is so clean and so well equipped with tasteful decoration and quality interiors. Lovely spacious grounds outside and an added bonus to be able to feed the friendly sheep and to play football. The owners are lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. Location of the cottage is ideal enabling us to visit lots of places during our stay. It was hard to leave such a beautiful cottage, but we are planning to return very soon.

Beautiful Cottage really enjoyed out time spent here.

This is a delightful place to stay.

Beautifully and tastefully modernised 15th century building, with many original features. Rooms are spacious, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The bathroom is huge, and possibly the most elaborate bathroom I've ever used. The staircase, mentioned in the description, felt slightly perilous to me, as a user of crutches, but has a sturdy handrail, though, a grab rail in the opposite wall would be helpful, as you have to leave go of the banister rail, in order to access the hall. Similarly, A grab handle by the bedroom doors, would definitely improve access via the two steep steps outside those rooms. These are minor issues, easily fixable, and did not impact on our stay, but would have made things slightly easier. The owners are friendly and welcoming. Nothing too much trouble. They also have the sweetest little terrier called Twinky, who popped around for a visit each evening, then surprised us with a visit on the morning we were leaving. I could've happily taken her home with me. The cottage is in a beautiful area, accessed by pretty country lanes. To many foolhardy drivers, but they seem to be everywhere. This was a trip down memory lane for me, but if I came back, I'd have no hesitation in booking Bluebell Cottage again. Thank you

Our stay at Bluebell was absolutely fabulous - the cottage is gorgeous and immaculately decorated, beds were super comfy, and the place was SPOTLESSLY clean!

The location is great, so convenient for lots of attractions and the scenery is absolutely beautiful - the morning view out of our bedroom window was just amazing. Thank you Mel & George for a wonderful stay.

This is our second visit to Bluebell Cottage, and it was just as enjoyable as the first.

The owners are most welcoming and live next door if you require anything. The cottage is well equipped and has everything you need for a perfect holiday. There are plenty of visitor attractions to keep you busy. Also, there is the new Mcarthur Glen designer retail park at Cannock. Bluebell Cottage is certainly on our list for a third visit.

We received a warm welcome from the owner who was really helpful. Our only concern was the staircase, a bit of a challenge for us oldies!

Beautiful cottage with all you could need for a week away.

The cottage was clean, warm and more than big enough for us and our two teenage daughters. The kitchen was well equipped and was used most evening during our stay plus the welcome pack was very appreciated as we arrived late. Mel the owner was extremely helpful, welcoming and even suggested a few places to visit that we hadn’t thought of. Well situated to visit Stoke on Trent, Cannock Chase and Birmingham (via the train). We loved our stay and look forward to staying here again sometime soon!

A really relaxing stay in a simply beautiful cottage.

Absolutely everything that you could need is provided. Bed really comfortable ensuring a great night's sleep. Mel and George the owners live next door with their family and animals and in addition to being very friendly and open are quick to check everything is in order without being in the least intrusive. Unfortunately due to ill health we had to leave a day early and in the rush, my wife forgot a pair of trainers. A quick call to George the next day and they are in the post. Outstanding service. We heartily recommend Bluebell Cottage.

Amazing property and very welcoming host.

The property was clean and tidy. The host was super welcoming and even gave us some chillies from her farm. We were supposed to visit nearby towns but ended up staying in the property whole day as it had board games and netflix. Keep up the good work and recommend this property a 5 star.

The cottage is amazing, immaculate and it had everything we needed and more! Mel and George were perfect hosts and checked in regularly with us to make sure everything was ok and we were enjoying our stay. We love visiting the area, we have been several times now and this is definitely one of the best cottages we have stayed in. We will certainly be back and would highly recommend this fabulous property to anyone wanting 5* accommodation in this beautiful part of the country.

A most beautiful cottage, surrounded by glorious countryside.

The cottage itself was tastefully decorated, the kitchen was outstanding. Everything we needed had been provided and the hospitality was outstanding. Mel welcomed us and checked in to see how we were getting on. The garden with the chiminea was just what we needed after a busy day of walking. Check in was straight forward and the property easy to locate. It was our first holiday as a new family and we had all that we needed. Thank you for a wonderful stay, I'm sure we will be back.

Mel and George have created a beautiful place to stay.

The welcome pack including fresh eggs from their hens was really appreciated. The facilities are excellent and the little things above and beyond such as dishwasher soap, laundry tablets and hand soap. Nothing was too much trouble and Mel checked in regularly to make sure we had everything and we're enjoying our stay. The hosts recommendations for local amenities were excellent and we would like to thank them for their support when we had car trouble. It's the best cottage we have stayed in over the years. THANKYOU.

Lovely property, would stay again

An exceptional 5* historic property with every modern convenience.

Well prepared with everything you might require for a well equipped, warm and comfortable cottage stay. Super comfy bed, amazing bathroom, reliable wifi, easily controlled heating - we could go on and on !! There is excellent secure parking and the surrounding gardens have seating areas, bird feeders and in season - bluebells !! Thank you Mel for your patience regarding the TV (too modern for us but we got there eventually !!) and the welcome goodies. It was a pleasure to meet you and we will return to Bluebell Cottage.

Having stayed at Bellamour (the cottage next door) previously we expected that Bluebell cottage would be furnished and equipped to a high standard and we were not disappointed.

Mel and George have done a fantastic job with this lovely property, old world charm but with all the modern day comforts. Mel goes out of her way to make sure everything is catered for from the welcome pack to the Christmas decorations which made it feel like a real from home during the festive period. The kitchen is very well equipped and the two living rooms have log fires which provide a lovely atmosphere. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the bathroom is simply amazing. We were in the Midlands to visit family but if anyone was looking for a base from which to explore the local area I would strongly recommend this beautiful property.

Amazing cottage already looking to book again for next year

We had a lovely short stay at Bluebell Cottage.

The owners are warm and friendly, but with a professional approach and high standards. The cottage is extremely well-equipped, the beds are super comfortable, and a bath in the luxurious bathroom is such a treat! Mel was on hand with good advice, and we had a lovely meal in the village pub. Hope we will come back and car charging (which is planned) will be another bonus.

A stunning property at a very high spec.

From the moment we arrived it exceeding all expectation. It was very clean, comfortable and a perfect getaway with lots to do in the area.

One of the best cottages we have stayed in. The owners have thought of absolutely everything you would need. Fully equipped kitchen. Having washer/dryer was a added bonus! The beds were extremely comfortable, and the cottage is so warm & cosy. We appreciated the Welcome basket on arrival with milk, bread, cookies, butter, jam & the best eggs we have tasted. Mel & her family made us feel extremely welcome. They are all very knowledgeable to the local area for visitors, including eating places. We had an amazing evening in the Olde Dun Cow pub. We also visited the Blist Hill victorian museum on our stay (Definitely recommend) We would love to return to Bluebell Cottage.. Thank You again..
