The cottage is comfortable and the the hosts put themselves out to ensure a good stay. I stayed in June 2023 and in enjoyed it then and I enjoyed to today

We have stayed at Cariad Cottage many times and have never been disappointed.

There is always an amazing selection of cakes and some wine to greet us which is a great start to any holiday. The accommodation was well-prepared and the kitchen very well-equipped. The location is ideal for exploring Ludlow on foot and the bus service to Shrewsbury works well.

Cariad Cottage is a warm and welcoming home from home.

The very generous welcome pack of wines and delicious homemade cakes and biscuits is the best we’ve experienced. The cottage is cosy and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with the latest in modern appliances and equipment. Love the Hexclad pans. It’s in a brilliant location a short walk from the centre of town with its own parking space. So good we’ve stayed twice and would recommend it to others.

It was a very comfortable cottage, the lovely welcome cakes and shortbread were delicious, plus all the cakes were labelled for allergies .

I must not forget the wine also. The equipment , bed linen and towels were plentiful, you want for nothing, the cottage was spotless, also very central to the town and train station. We had a very enjoyable stay.

A lovely cottage very well equipped, particularly the kitchen.

Kind owners left cupcakes, shortbread and mince pies as well as wine, as a welcome gift - very generous. Great location, and very snug and warm. Nicely decorated for Christmas. Our only adverse comments would be that it wasn’t clear from the description that the stairs are quite steep and narrow, so a bit difficult for anyone with restricted mobility, and that the bathroom is pretty small, no bath just a (perfectly adequate) shower - fine for us as a couple, but might be an issue if small children.

We were very satisfied with our week's stay at Cariad Cottage in Ludlow.

The accomodation was clean, very well equipped and conveniently situated for exploring the town on foot. Also, (as we arrived one week before Christmas), it was especially thoughtful to be greeted by a Christmas tree and lights; bottles of wine; and a selection of colourful and tasty, iced cakes!

A superb cottage, so comfortable and well equipped.

Parking in front of the cottage was very straightforward, a most generous welcome pack was provided and we felt at home the minute we walked through the door into a warm cottage. The location is ideal. Cariad is in the centre of Ludlow in easy reach of all that this lovely town has to offer. We had a great holiday in one of the best cottages we've ever stayed in. We’re already planning a return visit in 2026.

A cosy and comfortable cottage in a quiet cul-de-sac located in the centre of Ludlow, with its own parking space and within easy walking distance of all parts of the town.

The owner has gone above and beyond in ensuring that users of the cottage have everything they need in terms of equipment, everyday household commodities (e.g. washing up liquid, loo rolls, etc) and a wealth of tourist information, including dozens of local walks. Upon arrival, we were greeted with home made cakes, bottles of wine and a written note of welcome. When the owner heard that I had a particular interest in the history of the town, she brought and left in the cottage her own collection of local history books and maps for me to consult. Truly, I can say this is the best holiday accommodation I have ever stayed in.

Delicious home-made cakes as a welcome pack! The cottage is ideally situated within a short, fairly flat walk to the town centre and in a quiet street and the parking place is an added bonus in the centre of town.

This is a lovely cottage, well-equipped and comfortable.

We very much enjoyed the home-made cakes left by the owners - a really kind thought! The cottage is well-situated for walking into the town, and very convenient being able to park on the front when going out for the day. Our only suggestion, which is not a criticism, is that a grab handle outside by the front door would make it easier to negotiate the step for those of us whose balance is not all it could be!

Another enjoyable stay in this lovely cottage.

Hosts are very welcoming, cakes, biscuits and wine much appreciated. The cottage is always very clean, comfortable and well equipped in every room…fans well needed and used often in the very hot weather we had. There are so many great places to eat out in Ludlow that we had no need to cook. An added bonus is being able to park right outside the front door. Can’t wait to book another return visit.

Easy walking distance to Ludlow to all the facilities on the door step. The area has many interesting attractions all within easy driving distance,or if you wish the railway station is only a short walk away. If you want a stress free break this is the ideal place to seek out. L

Lovely, homely little cottage with all the amenities present in the cottage ensuring a comfortable stay.

The cottage is located only a few minutes from the centre we’re there is numerous good pubs and restaurants. The railway station is a five minute walk away. Having personal parking was a big plus. The cakes and wine provided by the owner were scrumptious. Would certainly recommend.

This is our second time in Cariad Cottage and we enjoyed our stay just as much as last time.

The cottage is very comfortable, spotlessly clean, has a handy parking spot just outside the door and is less than 5 minutes walk to Ludlow's shops and eateries. In short it provides everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. The cake and wine are a lovely added bonus too. Thanks very much for a lovely holiday.

Cariad cottage was everything we hoped for and more.

So many extra touches. Hairdryers , alarm clocks In each bedroom. The lounge had recliner couches and chair, full Smart TV. Kitchen wow, all quality appliances including a ninja speedi. You catered for everything and everyone. The cakes, biscuits and wine on arrival were a lovely touch and really made us feel welcomed. The location was perfect parked up and walked into town. We will visit again

First class accommodation.

Spotlessly clean and comfortable. The television was very high spec and the kitchen equipment was top of the range (Kitchen Aid kettle and toaster). Perfect location for easily exploring Ludlow as you're at the top of the hill level with the castle and church. And perfect location to explore the area. Stairs are steep but perfectly manageable even if you're less nimble and with a bad knee like me.

Our third visit to Cariad Cottage.

This is a first rate holiday cottage which is incredidbly well equipped with very high quality appliances and furnishings. The "welcome pack" is almost unbelievable with wine, homemade cakes, muffins and biscuits as well as milk in the fridge. This is without doubt the best "home from home" you could wish for and many other property owners are put to shame. The close proximity to Ludlow centre is a bonus with every facility you could wish for in easy walking distance. I'm sure we'll be back again in the future. Very many thanks to the property owners.

We have enjoyed a lovely week in this cosy, comfortable cottage.

Our host was especially welcoming and helpful. The cottage is clean and very well equipped, especially the kitchen, although we only used the kettle as there were so many wonderful places to enjoy meals in the town. On-site parking was a bonus, and the closeness of the railway station was also convenient. Already planning a return visit next year.

The property was quite cluttered.

Too many things in particular in the kitchen. The shower was too small and the power shower's pressure was weak. We appreciate it was a cottage. Overall it was a good stay.

Location is great for Ludlow itself plus, going visiting the surrounding areas. The provisions in the cottage go above and beyond! Having the parking right outside is a real bonus too.

We had a great stay at Cariad Cottage and everything we needed was there plus more, from the cottage being warm when we arrived to the welcoming gifts and treats ( thank you ), neither of us drive but only short walk from the station, supermarkets and town.

Cariad Cottage is a fabulous property for a relaxing holiday.

Everything is designed for comfort and convenience with high end appliances and furnishings. It was also very clean and warm. The warmth was particularly welcome as we arrived to a frozen, -3° Ludlow. The owners had provided a lovely welcome pack which was very much appreciated. The location in the centre of town and a parking space is ideal for exploring lovely Ludlow and all it offers.

Cariad Cottage is a fantastic property.

It has all the comforts of home, plus. It was very clean and organized. Info binders and tourist brochures contained every possible detail and local places to visit either by foot or train. The cottage was in a perfect location, I was able to walk everywhere. Walks in and surrounding Ludlow were all doable and easy to get to. Lots of shops, restaurants and take away choices. I would definitely stay at Cariad Cottage again whenever the opportunity arises. Thanks so much for your help and prompt attention to my every need.

This is a delightful cottage on a quiet street with its own parking spot at the front.

The owners have provided everything to ensure guests have a very comfortable, relaxing stay and always leave wine and cakes as a welcome gift. Its very close to the picturesque town centre and castle and there are two supermarkets close by. We have stayed here many times and intend to keep coming back.

Great location to Ludlow town centre with a big bonus of a car parking space.

Excellent welcome pack with a very well appointed kitchen including electrical equipment Quality TV and package was appreciated. Although we appreciate that this was a period cottage with limited natural lighting the living room was very dark and cluttered and would benefit a modern makeover. The bedding was clean but the creased and dowdy quilt covers were a disappointment

An exceptional Property with very little to fault.

If i were looking for a place for a month , i doubt there would be anything needed not already provided.. Very centrally located to both the city center and 2 large supermarkets, a car is not entirely necessary. If I have one criticism , its a personal one and not relevant to all, but the single beds were way too soft for me - can only sleep on a firm bed. Overall a comfortable place to stay

Very comfortable cottage, everything provided.

Standard of fittings in kitchen and bathroom were excellent. Car space is ideal as the cul de sac is very busy with vehicles parking up for the car parts business opposite. Owner very helpful and good contact details should we have had a problem (which we did not).

The car parking space in front of the property was extremely useful. However if you are seeking a rural idyll as your base, look elsewhere. The cottage is in an urban location with limited countryside views.

Such a lovely well kept cottage.

On arrival wine and delicious home bakes left by the owner. The cottage has everything for a home from home break and the quality of furnishings we're top notch from the lovely soft thick towels to kitchen utensils and crockery and cutlery. The cottage was lovely and warm and cosy. The cottage is close to the town centre and the railway station. A big plus is the carpark space in front of the house which is quite rare so close to the town centre in Ludlow. On the whole 10 out of 10 for cariad cottage.

We have never been disappointed with the quality of our stay there. The accommodation is comfortable, perfectly situated for exploring the town and the goodies awaiting us on our arrival are first rate, both in quality and quantity.

Its a lovely cottage, in a quiet location but very close to town centre and amenities.

The landlady has done everything to make it cosy and welcoming. We have stayed on many occasions and intend to do so again next year.

Mrs Leake, the Owner is excellent, she provides everything you could possibly need and we were pleased to be staying in such a lovely cottage and the outside parking was a real bonus. For our arrival we had been left a supply of delicious homemade cakes, biscuits, milk and wine which was very welcoming indeed, thank you very much. Enjoyable meals at Ye Olde Bull Ring Tavern and Vaughans Sandwich Bar was very good too, but there are many other good pubs and shops and walking in Ludlow which is a great place to visit and we hope to return to Cariad Cottage again.

Cariad cottage was better than the listing, from the cakes and wine to the comfortable beds and seating.

The situation was perfect too, easy walk into Ludlow and plenty of cafes and evening eating opportunities. Loads of National trust properties and open gardens within an easy drive too.

One of the best equipped S/C Cottage we have stayed in, and in an ideal location in the centre of Ludlow.

A lovely cottage within 5 minutes walk of the town centre.

A good chip shop and pub serving food round the corner. The cottage was beautifully clean and as described with everything provided. The seating area is where your car is parked, but does get the sun. The stairs are steep, but I have arthritis and could manage them slowly. Ludlow is quite hilly although the walk to the town centre is flat. We really enjoyed our week in the cottage, thank you.

This was our first visit to Ludlow and it did not disappoint.

It is a beautiful market town and we enjoyed some fabulous walking, eating and drinking in and around the town. Cariad Cottage was the icing on the cake. It suited our needs as a couple perfectly, it was comfortable, warm and the hospitality of the owner was excellent. The cottage is ideally situated being less than a five minute walk from the town centre which was lovely to explore. There were also a few great circular walks (4-5) miles which allowed us to enjoy the spectacular countryside and views that surround the town. Turn the other way out of the cottage and it was less than 5 minutes to the train station with a regular service to the likes of Shrewsbury and Hereford. All in all, a beautiful part of the country and Cariad Cottage is a great base from which to enjoy it.

What a wonderful cottage!

Being so close to the centre of Ludlow and having free parking at the front door was fabulous enough, but the property also had absolutely every convenience going. It was cosy and comfortable and was exactly what we look for in a holiday property and more.

This was my sixth visit to Cariad Cottage and I have booked to go again next year.

Need I say more? The cottage is ideally located for exploring the area on foot and the public transport system works well. Cosy, incredibly well equipped and the welcome pack is amazing! - just what one needs to start a relaxing escape.

The welcome pack was indeed very welcome and was lovely.

There was everything you would need for your break and the cottage was both warm and very comfortable. It is in an ideal spot for Ludlow and in a beautiful part of the country. We enjoyed it so much we booked again while we were there.

This the most well equipped cottage we have ever been to it is small but big enough for 4 people 3 minutes walk from center of ludlow.

Take away food round the corner and the garden has been removed from front so you have room to park one car a must in Ludlow had a great week and will return thank you to Margaret for the homemade cakes biscuits milk in fridge and wine

Cariad Cottage is not big but it's extremely comfortable, has its own parking space (a bonus in Ludlow), and is very convenient for walking into town or driving out of town.

The owners maintain it very carefully, everything works and is of good quality. The cottage was spotless on arrival and there was a very generous welcome pack of wine, cakes and biscuits. We've just returned from our fourth stay and once again had a lovely time.

We have stayed at Cariad Cottage several times and have booked to return in November so this should tell you what we think of the accommodation and of Ludlow!

The cottage was well-prepared and equipped as usual and once again we found some delicious cakes, biscuits and wine on our arrival. The venue has the great advantage of being within easy walking distance of the town centre which has excellent transport links to locations further afield. There are numerous lovely walks in the area and many leaflets about what to see and where to go are available at the cottage. Having an electric car we were delighted to find that there was a charging point within a short walk of the property.

The cottage and it's facilities were excellent, the best equipped self catering place that we have ever stayed at.

This is a lovely cottage in a superb location.

The cottage was very well equipped, very clean and very comfortable. The owner had left lots of information about local facilities all relevant to the current situation. It is situated in a quiet close and just a few minutes walk into the centre of Ludlow. The train station is also only a couple of minutes walk away and it is easy to access other towns and villages within the area. The owner had also left a nice welcome pack of milk, cake and wine which was a nice personal touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Cariad Cottage.

Cariad cottage was ideally placed in Ludlow,The cottage was in immaculate condition and was exceptionally clean, which was very reassuring during the Covid pandemic.

Everything was catered for with all mod cons.The fixtures & fittings were of a very high standard with great Wifi, Also we found all the hints and tips that were left by the owner very,very useful indeed.There were many personal touches provided by the owner that were very much appreciated .Ludlow itself is a very pretty town with lots of history and is a great base for exploring Shropshire.Overall I would highly recommend Cariad cottage

There were so many lovely looking cottages in Ludlow that it took us a while before finally deciding on Cariad Cottage.

I’m so glad we did. With comfortable beds, sofas and chairs and a very generous welcome pack of delicious home made cakes, biscuits and 2 bottles of wine as well as lots of hot drink choices we immediately felt at home. I honestly cannot think of anything we could have wanted that wasn’t supplied for us and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Cariad Cottage to anyone travelling to Ludlow.

This has to be one of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in.

The owners go to endless trouble to equip the place with everything anyone could need and yet everything is neatly stored away so the the ambiance is one of quiet comfort. The situation is ideal, very near the centre of lovely Ludlow yet peaceful and easy parking is an added bonus. The welcome treats waiting on the table ( including home baking with a complete list of ingredients) set the tone for an excellent weeks holiday.

The property was well presented and spotlessly clean.

Everything that we needed was provided and the "welcome pack" which included wine, homemade cakes and biscuits was extremely generous. The beds and lounge furniture were really comfortable making this a real home from home. This property is situated only a few minutes from the town centre and is really convenient for cafés, pubs, take away food etc. - the Bull Ring Tavern is definitely worth a visit with a friendly welcome, good food and a good selection of real ales. Lots of things to do and places to visit - if you like beer, do the Ludlow Brewery tour. We would love to come back again at some point in the future.

Ludlow is quick a compact town but the location is perfect for walking to all the great food shops and the market.

It is an easy walk into the centre of Ludlow and has supermarkets within a few minutes walk (One stop was only 2 minutes and a large Tesco and Aldi a short walk down the hill - about 5 minutes walk) The cottage was very well equipped with everything you could need - a real home from home. The owner kindly left some buns, milk and wine to welcome us which was much appreciated, the buns were delicious.

The sheer niceness of a clean, well-appointed and recently remodelled cottage in a such a peaceful and orderly town as Ludlow: it's like travelling back in time to a more civilised age, but with all mod cons.

Lovely cottage.

The owner has gone out of her way to provide everything you could need to enjoy your holiday. Lots of information folders detailing the local area. We found the walks leaflets very useful. The welcome pack of wine, homemade cakes and biscuits was really thoughtful and enjoyable. Ludlow and the surrounding area are a joy to visit.

It was one of the best equipped cottages we have stayed in - and so very convenient for restaurants and all the lovely places to visit in Ludlow and surrounding areas.

The welcome pack was more than generous. We have not used Sykes before but will certainly look at their properties first in the future.

The information in the cottage and the welcome goodies were excellent. All in all a very nice place to spend a holiday

Facilities at the cottage we’re excellent, one of the best we’ve stayed in- dishwasher and washing machine washing tablets provided which is unusual.

Often the machines are there but no products to use! Welcomed with cakes, cookies and two bottles of wine, wonderful start. Quality kitchen and very comfortable cottage. Although no garden the seats outside the front door made up. Parking space a bonus in Ludlow! Thank you.

Excellent design and product sourcing combined with top class workmanship! And the range of equipment supplied is exhaustive. The Cottage position for foot access to Town, Castle, River and walks is very good. Didn't use the car once all week. Loved Ludlow. It is truly like a home-from-home. Ludlow itself is a jewel of a town and many other attractive places are within easy reach. Any time of year Cariad Cottage is nice to come back to after a day out.

I would just like to say that this cottage is the best equipped I have ever been in, it was warm ,comfortable, cosy and in a brilliant position for exploring Ludlow.

We would definitely return here.

We enjoyed a relaxing week in this cosy, well equipped cottage just two minutes walk from the historic centre of Ludlow.

The cottage was equipped to a high standard with everything we could possibly need. The owner has gone to great lengths to provide extensive information about the local area which was useful for planning walks and outings. On arrival we found a home-baked fruitcake, milk, tea and coffee and two bottles of wine - much appreciated after a longish drive. The lack of a garden to sit out in was not a problem for us in February though some might find this a bit of a drawback in the spring and summer. For us, Cariad proved an ideal location for a winter break and we hope to be back again soon.

We booked Cariad Cottage because it was so close to Ludlow town centre, which meant we could walk to the shops and restaurants and because it had a parking space - it’s location is ideal for exploring Ludlow and touring the surrounding area.

Although the cottage is small it is comfortable enough for two; it was clean and very well equipped indeed, all the kitchen equipment looked brand new, good WiFi and Smart TV. We were welcomed with a fruit cake, fresh milk and a couple of bottles of wine. We enjoyed our stay and will certainly return.

This is our third visit to Cariad Cottage - I think this speaks for itself!

Once again the owner had supplied wine, cake and a selection of teabags, all of which were much appreciated.

The situation is so convenient for the town and shops - but being in a cul-de-sac is pretty quiet.

I'd have said 'exceeded expectations' only we've booked this cottage with you twice before and also one in Scotland – always found the website easy to use and in both cases the accommodation was accurately described and the administration/payment very straightforward.

So we had high expectations this time which you met :-)

Rarely have we come across a holiday home which is so well equipped.

It had everything we needed and more. The owner really has thought of everything. We slept really well there, as it was so quiet and dark, compared to home! The location was extremely convenient for the town centre and it was great in the evenings to be able to get to a restaurant within a few minutes. We did a lot of walking during the day time so would not have wanted a long walk in the evening as well. The owner was very friendly and helpful and had provided an excellent welcome pack for us.
