Holmesfield is a small village situated on a high peak between Bakewell and Sheffield, on the very edge of the Peak District National Park, and with commanding views of the Cordwell Valley. Surrounded by undulating countryside and deep valleys, the village is made up of a group of traditional old houses, interesting manors, a village hall and the parish church of St Swithins, built in 1826. There are many local amenities; the area boasts eight pubs and a number of fine restaurants, and is ideally located for exploring this interesting and beautiful area.
