    “Lovely cottage”

Had a week here & loved the cottage. It’s well equipped, beds very comfortable. Nice little welcome pack to get you started. Parking is a bit tight but we got a Volvo XC40 in no problem. If your nervous there is the main road you can park on or across the road is another quiet road where a number of cars are being parked. We used it one day as neighbours we’re moving and needed to block the road with a van. Plenty of dog walking areas near cottage for first & last thing. Garden is enclosed ...

We used it one day as neighbours we’re moving and needed to block the road with a van. Plenty of dog walking areas near cottage for first & last thing. Garden is enclosed. You can walk into Matlock in about 15 minutes but be aware that walking back is a bit tough as it’s all uphill. We did it loads. Mazzis for Indian delivery was very nice and good value. Chippy behind the cottage on back roads also very nice. Would happily go again.

The popular Peak District town of Matlock, together with its neighbour, Matlock Bath, has been attracting visitors to the area since the spa was developed in the late 17th century. Set in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent, the Matlocks offer a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a host of attractions including Gulliver’s Kingdom and the Peak District Mining Museum. Magnificent views down the gorge can be enjoyed from the cable car which takes visitors up to the Heights of Abraham – a great place for all the family with its showcaves, nature trail, water gardens and Owl Maze. South of the town is the start of the High Peak Cycle Trail, whilst a short drive away is the National Tramway Museum at Crich.
