  • "Yew Tree Cottage is a delightful place to stay!"

    It had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. We loved the modern decor and the balcony, which was great for a cuppa in the afternoon sunshine. Access was easy and parking good. One of our party has mobility issues and the shower was a little too difficult to negotiate, but apart from that everything else was very suitable for him. Adrian, whose wife runs the cottage, was very friendly and helpful. All in all we had a great short break!

  • "This property is ideal for a short stay or even a bit longer depending on your needs, it has been decorated and furnished very tastefully and modern, great use of colours, I particularly like the bathroom tiles, they are stunning."

    Everything is close to hand for exploring this beautiful part of the UK. I would recommend you do need a car to explore the local area, and Bank Road is particularly steep if you are brave enough to walk down into town for some shopping, Amanda the owner/host is a delight to meet,she is absolutely genuinely warm and welcoming, nothing is to much trouble for her, she is at hand nearby and you may see her busy in her beautiful green space of a garden, she is very approachable and will find time for a chat and help you with anything you need to know. In a nutshell this little diamond of a property is perfect, it's quiet enough where it is, but you are literally 5 mins from anything or anywhere you need to be. I will definitely visit again, so make sure you book ahead in advance, because it appears to be very popular and nearly fully booked up all year round. Thanks again Amanda.

  • "Most enjoyable stay at Yew Tree Cottage."

    Very clean & comfortable, all on one level. A large bathroom with walk in shower and a lovely verandah overlooking the owner Amanda's beautiful garden. A bonus to have parking at the door as the accommodation is on a steep hill. Lots to see & do in the area and easy to get around. Many thanks Amanda for your kind welcome & a most enjoyable holiday.   • "We had a lovely stay for a few days at Yew Tree Cottage."

    The cottage was clean, warm and comfortable and Amanda was very helpful when needed. It was perfectly placed near to the centre of Matlock. A 5 minute walk down the hill to the centre, as well as two minutes away from some lovely independent shops and pubs up the hill on Smedley Street. Yew Tree Cottage is also nicely placed if you wanted to travel further around the wonderful Peak District. We would not hesitate to book again here.

  • "Lovely break away; there was no hot water when we first arrived and the underfloor heating wasn't set to a correct time."

    Amanda (the host) responded very quickly to get everything sorted. I would recommend Yew Tree Cottage for it's location and facilities Ps. The cutlery tray is hidden above the left hand drawer by the sink !!

  • "Yew Tree Cottage was lovely."

    We had a fabulous time during our few days there. The owner took time to send clear messages of communication regarding our stay. The accomodation was clean & comfortable and had everything needed to make it a home from home. It's ideally located, close to the centre of Matlock for the shops and attractions. It's also close to the bus station and not far from the train station, so accessing public transport is not a problem for exploring the local area.

  • "Our stay here was truly enjoyable."

    The location is excellent, with The Farmacy just up the hill, an artisan pub offering a fantastic range of quirky ciders and ales, along with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The accommodation itself was modern, cosy, and ideal for our young family. We particularly appreciated the thoughtful welcome touches, such as fresh milk in the fridge and delicious cookies on arrival. The added convenience of parking, combined with a friendly and accommodating host, made this property a wonderful choice. We would be delighted to return and highly recommend it to others.

  • "Lovely, light, open and 'young' feel to the apartment."

    Kitchen very well equipped. Amanda (the host) lives right next door and was very welcoming. It's certainly a warm place and also surprisingly quite being near a reasonably busy road. I know Matlock well as I lived here (currently in between homes hence staying in various places) and Yew Tree Cottage is well placed. 2 lovely real ale pubs within 5 mins. Not far from town centre which is just 15 mins down the road (walking). There is a bus stop right outside too.

Matlock Bath 1 mile; Bakewell 8 miles.

The popular Peak District town of Matlock, together with its neighbour, Matlock Bath, has been attracting visitors to the area since the spa was developed in the late 17th century. Set in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent, the Matlocks offer a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a host of attractions including Gulliver’s Kingdom and the Peak District Mining Museum.
