  • "This property was perfect for our holiday - group of 13 between the ages of 62-79 and three dogs!"

Lovely underfloor heating warmed up the house in no time on arrival. Bedrooms plentiful and well equipped. Spoilt for choice as to which bedrooms we would all have! Communication with owner was top notch. Personal chef experience with Tom was brilliant. We all had a lovely meal adapted to suit all requirements. Trips out on rainy days were plentiful and we thoroughly enjoyed venturing out. The dogs loved the garden which was well enclosed which gave us piece of mind. Plenty of car parking at the front of the house. We would certainly recommend this accommodation to anyone with a large group. A small suggestion maybe - it would be nice if there was an additional key to take with us when going out as well as well as the one key to put back into the safe lock. We locked ourselves out as we split ourselves into two groups - one group thinking the other had put the key back into the safe place. Luckily we managed to get back in! The key was still in the inner door!!!

  • "Wow. What can we say."

Lived up to all our expectations and more. This holiday home had EVERYTHING we needed - and more. Every time we thought - would be super handy if they had something, we’d look and find it. So what was great? It was super clean, really comfortable, incredibly well fitted out and in a beautiful location. We used the hot tub company which was great too. All beds were super comfy. The games room was so much fun. The kids loved having a TV in every room (you think you wouldn't need this, but it’s really handy!). We loved the attention to detail - it very much feels like it’s been designed to be an ideal holiday vacation property. The owners are also super nice and helpful - Ed couldn’t have done more for us. Lots of communication. One thing to note: there is a huge marble staircase and a spiral staircase - both of which are amazing, but we had a 3 year old with us who we needed to watch all the time on both. Younger kids (under6) need to be supervised in the games room. Thanks again for such a great stay, we really hope to be back!

  • "What a fabulous place Hartcliffe View is."

We have just returned from a weekend birthday celebration with all the family. 12 humans and 3 little dogs. Firstly this is a completely dog friendly place with a large walled garden, big dog bed, bowls etc. provided. The house has everything you could possibly need for your stay with a fully equipped kitchen and utility room- home away from home just bring your food- there’s plenty of storage. Kitchen roll, bin bags, spices , condiments even ice for our evening tipple were all provided. The complimentary couple of bottles of red and tin of biscuits was much appreciated thank you Ed. The kitchen quickly became the hub of the house. On another note there were plenty of loo roll supplied for every bathroom which is not always the case with holiday rentals and there is a hairdryer in every room. The house is well presented and very clean. The large dining room meant we could sit down together and enjoy shared meals into the evening. The house is big enough for everyone to have their space with plenty of activities, the games room was a big hit as was the 70inch TV in the lounge with Sky Sports and a PlayStation. We hired the hot tub as an extra (just as an aside for me it should be included in the house hire as these days hot tubs usually are because who doesn’t like a hot tub) and even though we had inclement weather it was great to sit with a glass of fizz taking in the lovely farm land views. We had an 18 month old toddler with us - the supply of a baby gate, cot, soft play area, bath toys and high chairs were very welcome ! We visited the friendly local pub- open fire, pool table and dart board for a quick drink after walking in the area - plenty of countryside walks round there. All in all we had a thoroughly lovely time and can all highly recommend Hartcliffe - we will be back - thanks for your hospitality Ed ! Wendy and the Von Trapp Family Singers !

Well appointed and fully equipped, with everything that you would need for the family. The kitchen was spacious with everything that you would require to cater for a large group. Really impressed with the soft play equipment, he large garden and the games room. This offered great views of the surrounding area. The weather was very good and we managed to walk up to the view point and other walks while we were there. The beds were comfortable and everyone had great night sleep, it was home from home and very relaxing. The owners were great, contacting us prior to going and while we were there to ensure that all was OK and there were no problems. Thanks Ed and Kim for a great weekend. I would recommend this property for a family get together.

The views were beautiful. The owners were very welcoming and quick to respond to any queries. The layout suited our family well as the house is big enough to spread out and not be under each others feet whilst still having large enough communal spaces to be together comfortably. The beds were especially comfy! Everyone commented on them. For us, the only downside was it was quite noisy with the tiled floors and no curtains, cushions or rugs to soften things. This was only a small gripe and wouldn’t stop us staying again Thanks to Ed and Kim

A stunning location with open countryside all around, which provided great walks for our four dogs. Even although there were 11 adults, there was a huge amount of space and various rooms in which to congregate or relax or have fun - we never felt like we were living on top of each other. The games room was fantastic and hiring the optional hot tub meant that there was something for everyone. The beds were all so comfortable and there was plenty of storage room in each of the bedrooms, which were all a good size. The front drive easily coped with our four cars and the pub along the road (200 yards) meant a welcome libation at the end of our countryside walks. Dogs are very well catered for and it's not often you can say that a garden is completely enclosed and extremely dog-friendly - not to mention the size, which was incredible. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need to cater for our party; with copious amounts of large pans, baking trays, serving dishes, glasses etc and storage (and fridge/freezer) space galore. Everything had been very carefully thought through to ensure our stay was stress free and relaxing. Ed was a great host; so approachable, accommodating, helpful and considerate. Every one of us would visit again in a heartbeat; perhaps in the summer months when we could really take advantage of the fantastic outdoor space and BBQ. Cannot recommend enough!

Very well equipped, particularly the kitchen and everything had been thought of. Well placed to explore the area. Football in the garden and long walks built appetites for sociable evenings. Would recommend Tom the local caterer who produced a lovely meal for us, pretty much to our own specifications. One tiny quibble is that there was no mention on the website that the games room is accessible only up a narrow spiral staircase which made it a no go area for the more elderly in our party. That apart, it was perfect for us.

We were a family of 11 and we had everything we needed from a beautiful kitchen to prep & cook food, to a dining area where we could all sit & eat together. The lounge was also amazing with a lovely Christmas tree. The patio & garden looked so inviting only sad that it was a wet winters weekend so we couldn’t get to enjoy it! The walks from the house were a dog owner’s dream and the views were amazing. The owner kindly made himself available to help in any way but everything was as described and expected so no issues to resolve. I think the only things that the make up of our party would have changed would have been: 1. The entrance hall is magnificent and beautiful but we found the space and flooring caused every sound to echo around the house, even with the doors closed. With 3 very young children in our party, we did find ourselves talking in whispers so as not to disturb them after they had settled for the night. 2. While the sensor lights in the bathrooms are mostly helpful, they can disturb others if you’re getting up to use the loo in the night. Impossible to tiptoe to the bathroom in the darkness! Aside from those 2 very minor points we were very impressed with the standard of the house and all the equipment provided. We also fell in love with the area.

We held our own New Years Eve black tie dinner and it was the perfect house for entertaining. The house offered excellent accommodation and cooking facilities for our group, plus 2 dogs. The games room was especially appreciated as the weather was quite rainy although there are also some lovely walks from the property. We didn’t venture to any local pubs or eateries due to COVID but did have a wander around Holmfirth which was very quaint. We hired the hot tub which I imagine would be particularly enjoyable in the summer as the garden has a wonderful outlook. I’m pleased I’d read previous reviews about bringing non- slip footwear due to the shiny flooring throughout the property as this could be a hazard to very young/ elderly guests and the stairs are also quite steep. It took a couple of days for upstairs bedrooms to warm up due to underfloor heating throughout but the beds / bedding was very comfy. This is a fabulous property for large family gatherings in a lovely location.

Some lovely food in pubs around area (good gluten-free options too). Visited Cannon Hall Farm which was lovely day out and lunch there was brilliant. One downside of house was slippy floors, which were problematic with small children/toddlers, so recommend description includes reference to bringing something for feet (slippers or slipper socks). The games room at the top of the house was a big hit with the teenagers and we all spent the evenings up there playing games , having great fun and all hanging out together. The bedroom and views on the top floor were stunnng. There is nothing I would change , everything is thought of , would definitely recommend for a large group/family because of the space here . The local pub in walking distance was a bonus .

We were all wowed by this luxurious house which exceeded our expectations. A lot of thought had gone into making our stay comfortable ,convenient and special. The kitchen was well equipped and there were lots of dvds and games etc in the drawing room. The games room was a huge success, we had trouble getting the kids out of the house because they bonded and enjoyed themselves so much. It would be an ideal place to be in if the weather was inclement. The garden was ideal for games with the dogs and there were various toys , even treats for them. The surrounding countryside and villages were lovely to walk in and explore. We’re all still talking about the holiday now. A holiday to remember.
