Moor Farm Cottage

After reading the description and seeing the photos of Manor Farm Cottage we had a great expectations and were not disappointed one bit.

This is a truly exceptional cottage with every comfort provided. Andrew met us on our arrival and explained how everything worked. There were many special extras such as fresh flowers, scrunchies for the shower and a much appreciated hamper. Andrew and Lesley have thought of everything you could need to make the stay very special. We will definitely recommend this cottage to family and friends.

This is a truly lovely cottage with a high level of amenities.

The hosts are very friendly and we were presented with an excellent welcoming package. Everything we needed was included and they catered for every eventuality and age group. The only downside, if that is the correct word, is that on initial approach the access could be a little difficult to identify but once found there was no problem thereafter.

Absolutely stunning cottage in a great location on the edge of the Peak District.

The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into the design and layout of the property and have succeeded in creating the perfect base for a wonderful holiday. From the very start when Andrew met us to show us around and explain how everything worked we knew it was going to be a great week. There was a brilliant welcome pack containing all sorts of local goodies and the kitchen had pretty much everything you needed including large selection of condiments. The layout of the cottage is ideal with loads of space to move around and all the furniture, fixtures and fittings are top quality. Everything about the place was clean, comfortable and cosy and the overall feeling was one of relaxation. Fantastic outdoor areas are here too and the enclosed patio at the back was well equipped with hot-tub, gas barbecue and comfortable sitting areas - a brilliant place to catch the afternoon and evening sun. Our son particularly enjoyed the Bluetooth in the hot-tub where he could chill out to his favourite music. Overall this really is a fantastic cottage and is highly recommended for a wonderful holiday.

Met the owners on arrival who were very welcoming and friendly.

Andrew (owner) gave us a guided tour of the property and explained anything we were not sure of. The property was clean, comfortable and with some lovely touches (gym and hot tub). Would love to stay again if we wanted to explore the surrounding area further.

We were met on arrival with a warm welcome from Andrew, the cottage is clean and comfortable and has everything you need, comfy beds , great hot tub, a good area for exploring the Peak District 2nd time we've been.

Negatives and they are only niggles. The sky light in the lounge could do with a blind on the light shines right in the middle of the TV, there are dressing tables in both bedrooms but no mirrors above them so the girls can do there hair, I'm not tiny 5ft 8'' but you have to be about 6ft 5'' to have a wash in the bathroom sinks. The inside of the property was clean but the rear courtyard where the hot tub is we found the garden furniture and sun loungers full of cobwebs and spider's, we know that cameras all round are for your security but it can feel like your in the big brother house , can't please everyone I suppose . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage.

It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The hot tub and gym were both excellent and really made our stay extra special. We were there to celebrate our son’s birthday, and it was the perfect place for the occasion. We would highly recommend this cottage and would happily stay again.

The Cottage was beautiful, it was spotless warm, cosy and homely.

It was ideally equipped with all essentials for a lovely stay 5 star. Spoke to the owners Lesley and Andrew who were very warm and friendly, they supplied a hamper and complementary basket on arrival which was a very nice touch. It is ideally located to visit local places of interest and walks, a very relaxing week managed to “chill”and recharge our energy batteries. Will definitely recommend to family and friends.

Andrew & Lesley were very welcoming, and go the extra mile to make this cottage home from home.

They take the time to show you around and all the little extras did not go unnoticed. The farm cats also made us very welcome. The hot tub is larger than expected, which we enjoyed most nights. Thank you. They also contact you before your visit to check a few details, which add to the personal tuck.

This is our second visit to Moor Farm Cottage due to the fact that it ticks so many boxes.

The cottage is spacious, clean and very comfortable. The beds are comfy and the linen smells lovely. Both the sofa’s are generously sized and comfortable and the tv’s are decent sizes for relaxing with a movie. The welcome basket is stuffed full of local goodies. The hot tub is positioned with lovely views across neighbouring fields. Would recommend the cottage and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

We absolutely loved this cottage.

It is so cosy, brilliantly furnished and well equipped. It is the best welcome pack we have ever seen. Biscuits, Ground Coffee Leaf tea, chocolates and more. It is in the country but so close to Matlock, Bakewell and Chesterfield. There is a lovely walk along the canal at Cromford Mills near Matlock. There is shopping at Peak Village on the way to Bakewell where you can find a fantastic café the Chatsworth kitchen and a lovely pub the Grouse and Claret. Ashover village close by has 3 pubs, we loved the Old Poets Corner. So we were at the cottage when the weather was terrible but still found so much to do. Relaxed on an evening in the fabulous hot tub. We will definitely return.

Absolutely amazing, beautiful accommodation, had such a great time with you and already looking at out next visit towards the summer time.

It was a great holiday from the start!

! Met Andrew who showed us around a really beautiful clean welcoming property. To our surprise he and his wife had decorated the lounge with a large Christmas tree and decorations with seasonal cushions scattered around the seating areas. There was also a welcoming pack of local produce which we thought was a lovely touch. Beds were comfortable and the whole bungalow was warm. Thank you Lesley & Andrew. WE WORTH A VISIT!!

Beautiful cottage much bigger than the photos led us to believe.

All the rooms were well presented and clean . My little grandson was very reluctant to leave !

Moore Farm Cottage, is what it says on the tin, beautifuly furnished, much larger than it looks, hot tub , gym, large living area and kitchen, 2 amazing sized bedrooms, very modern bath room, auto lighting in hallway, Owners Andrew and Lesley were amazing, they supplied us with a welcome pack all locally sourced lovely organic food.

My wife also recieved birthday pressent and a card from them both( much appreciated thank you so much). lovely place perfectly placed for visiting the peak district.

We had a wonderful stay at Moor Farm Cottage.

The cottage exceeded our expectations, there really wasn't anything more we could have asked for. We made sure to take advantage of the hot tube and the BBQ. It might be worth including in the booking info for guests to bring charcoal to be able to use the BBQ. My only other suggestion is to be maybe include a warning in the booklet about the shower temperature which gets incredibly hot if someone accidentally uses a tap whilst someone is in the shower! Andrew was really helpful with giving tips on local pubs and restaurants. From his recommendations we had a lovely meal at Kelstedges Inn and Kathmandu Gurka. Moor Farm Cottage was a perfect base to explore the Peaks and all it has to offer. Would highly recommend!

Amazing holiday cottage and a fantastic stay!

Andrew was amazing and very helpful. Definitely would book and stay again.

The welcome pack was great, and the breakfast hamper was very good value for money.

The produce from a local shop was brilliant and prompted a visit to buy more from there. All the facilities in the accommodation were of a very high standard and so comfortable. The gym was very well equipped with first-class machines, and the hot tub was so good at the end of a day out. The leaflets provided great ideas of places to visit, and there was plenty to see and do nearby.. All in all a great place to stay.

Really well appointed cottage with real attention to detail and quality .

The fresh flowers were a lovely touch as was the welcome pack of local items. All of the rooms were really spacious . The cottage itself is well placed for all the locations we wanted to visit. Plenty of places to eat nearby .

What a gorgeous holiday cottage and a fantastic holiday from start to finish.

The provision of flowers and a welcome pack, and the information provided personally by the owner on arrival was superb. As was the breakfast package that we had ordered before our arrival. The accommodation is lovely with all the home comforts that we could wish for and the bonus of a hot tub and gym. Comfortable beds, a well appointed kitchen, dining area and living space. The outside areas are excellent and we were very lucky with the weather, so made the most of the excellent outdoor furniture. There are also some lovely countryside walks that start from the door of the cottage (Although it is a steep climb back from the village.) We asked the owners for some advice about the local area and took advantage of this to visit the excellent Old Poets Corner Pub for some very nice beers and ciders, and the Ashover Farm shop for some lovely local produce to enjoy a meal prepared by ourselves in the cottage on our last evening. We would definitely recommend this property for a stay in this lovely part of the world, and would love to return for another holiday in the future.

My sister and I recently returned from 5 days at Moor Farm Cottage, it was absolutely fabulous!

We’ve stayed in quite a few holiday cottages but this has to be the best. The setting is fantastic, we really enjoyed the outside space with a huge hot tub and quality sun loungers. The inside of the cottage was brilliant, both large bedrooms had really comfortable beds. The two bathrooms were a real bonus and very luxurious. Every part of the cottage was spacious with every amenity you could think of, from the array of kitchen utensils to the complementary body puffs, the owners have thought of everything. We will definitely be back to Moor Farm Cottage and have already recommended it to friends and family. Thank you to Andrew for such a warm welcome and a great holiday venue.

Had everything we could ask for.

Hot tub and Gym were lovely. Facilities were high class. Welcome pack was very nice and full of local treats. A very nice touch. Outside area was quite scruffy, which was a shame as inside the property was so nice. Too bright at night with all the sensor lights and skylights in long hallway. Bed was too hard in main bedroom.

A beautiful cottage surrounded by peaceful countryside, perfect for a relaxing break but within easy driving distance to town’s & restaurants.

The cottage was spotlessly clean and the owners obviously took great pride in it as their attention to detail was evident. The outside spaces included lots of seating & a large hot tub. There was also a lovely welcome pack and we certainly made the most of all the goodies inside. We stay in a lot of cottages in England and this is certainly up there as one of the best. Honestly couldn’t fault anything & the hosts were attendant & friendly. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We were looking for a last minute stay and we totally lucked out with Andrew and Lesley’s property.

My husband didn’t want to travel far due to health reasons, so we wanted a hot tub and some countryside and we got that in abundance. Our host, Andy, met us on arrival and gave us a comprehensive run down, which really helped. The property is stunning and literally had everything you needed. Our card, flowers and hamper were a lovely touch and really made us feel welcome and we had the opportunity to have a breakfast hamper too, which was locally sourced and delicious. The beds were so comfy, the hot tub was amazing and the views were absolutely stunning. We lucked out with the weather too. Thank you for your hospitality. We highly recommend your property.

This property is amazing!

Very clean and furnished to a really high standard, but very much has a home-from-home feel. It's so refreshing to go somewhere where the simple things like dishwasher tablets and laundry tablets are included. They make such a huge difference! The hosts are lovely. They showed us around the property on arrival, letting us know how everything worked. There were fresh flowers in all the rooms and an amazing, local produce welcome basket!! The hot tub and gym are a fantastic bonus. The location is ideal for exploring the Peak District and surrounding area, with gems on the doorstep like Heights of Abraham, Chatsworth, Thornbridge Hall, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall and, of course, beautiful countryside to walk through. There are some great local amenities including Stretton Hall Tea Room & Farm Shop, Marsh Green Farm Shop, and Tansley Barn Garden Centre & Restaurant, as well as the usual supermarkets in nearby Clay Cross. We would highly recommend this property to anyone!

We had a lovely stay.

The cottage is spacious, modern and well-maintained and the owners clearly go out of their way to make every stay as good as they can. There were a couple of features that didn't quite work for us. There is a lovely rustic table in the dining area, but it's not ideal for those with severe food allergies. Bright automatic lights in the hall made it challenging with young children. The view from the back was beautiful.

A beautifully decorated and maintained cottage, the owners have thought of every little thing to make it a home-from-home stay with added luxuries throughout.

Clean, comfortable and so well equipped with lovely views from the little garden. We didn’t feel the need to even venture out much as our two young boys loved being there so much. We hope to be able to book again in the summer months.

A lovely cottage, warm, clean, comfortable and very well furnished and equipped.

The hot tub was an added plus. The location is great. We visited Bakewell, Matlock, The Great British Car Journey, Cromford Mills, Blue John Cavern - all within easy reach. The owners have gone the extra mile to provide everything needed; we always take a box full of essentials e.g. cling, tin foil, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, salt and pepper.. but didn't need any of them. We will return, maybe next time when the weather is a bit warmer!

Very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Outside areas were lovely and hot tub was great. Beds were very comfortable. Gym was a good extra. Thoughtful welcome pack. Village and local facilities easily accessible. Walks from out the door. Altogether a lovely experience.

The property exceeded our expectations.

It was in an ideal location for visiting Matlock, Bakewell and Chatsworth and for walking in the Peak District. The cottage was warm, very clean and well- furnished. It had everything you needed for a comfortable break with lots of little luxurious touches, plus a lovely hot tub. The owners were very welcoming and the welcome and breakfast hampers were great . Lots of places to buy and eat delicious food. We would highly recommend it for a stay in this area.

We have stayed in many cottages and lodges but this is the first time where there was just everything you could think of it was very well equipped. Welcome pack was lovely all local goodies. We had a fabulous stay at the Moor farm cottage.

Andrew was kind enough to greet us on our arrival late in the night and gave us a complete tour of the house, gave us good local recommendations and shared the experience of building the cottage. The place has more than everything one needs during a holiday. It’s very tastefully done. We used the hot tub everyday. We will surely be coming back.

It has everything you could possibly think of. So well furnished too. Hosts were so accommodating and even arranged a birthday cake and decorations for my sisters birthday. Hot tub was also perfect. Will definitely return. Thank you.

The cottage was much bigger than it looked online. Very comfortable and we would definitely recommend. The hot tub and gym were great. Local area was beautiful and Matlock only approx a 15 minute drive away.

Gorgeous cottage.

A real modern homely feel. Everything you could want/need catered for, great host, lovely extra touches on arrival. Clean, quiet, fantastic scenery and cottage, chairs and hot tub positioned perfectly to allow you to be able to enjoy this with a chance to sit out front to watch the sunrise and sitting in the hot tub or at the table out the back allows you to watch the gorgeous sun set in this idyllic countryside location. Had an amazing few days and would highly recommend.

Wow, what a lovely cottage.

We were welcomed to the property and showed around by Andrew, the welcome pack of chocolates, coffee, tea and fresh flowers were a lovely touch. The local farm breakfast pack of sausages, eggs, bacon, hash brown, mushrooms, tomatoes apple juice, oatcakes, milk ensured the Saturday started off well. We made use of the hot tub on three occasions, despite the wind and rain and it was great. The gym was also used over the weekend and this is a lovely addition to the cottage. Plenty of places locally to eat out and the food was lovely. We ate at the Black Swan in Ashover and The Kelstege Inn. What an amazing property, would thoroughly recommend this to anyone wanting to have a relaxing break away. Thank you Andrew and Lesley

We had the most wonderful week long stay at this beautiful cottage for our annual girlie getaway.

The cottage itself is spacious, spotlessly clean and very well appointed, the owners have literally thought of everything you could possibly want or need to make your stay perfect!! Well located and the hot tub was sublime - especially in the snow after a long day shopping at Christmas market. Andrew and Lesley are very friendly and attentive hosts -nothing too much trouble. We will definitely look to return next year. Thank you for everything.

Such a lovely well appointed cottage.

As described however the photos do not do it justice. Very friendly hosts, all new fixtures and fittings, high end furniture, comfy couches. Beds and bedding you want to 'sleep in' for. Gorgeous bathroom with double sinks. The welcome basket, snuggle blankets, books and games adding the personal touch to a wonderful spacious cottage. Underfloor heating in the bathroom, individual room heating, motion sensor lights. The hot tub is certainly large enough and the view from it so peaceful. :)

Where do I start .

from the moment of arrival we were met by Andrew .who showed us around to ensure we knew where everything was ...could not believe the cleanliness of the cottage .the welcome pack .flowers in ever room . Lovely decorated to a very high standard.outside fantastic hot tub.and seating area .not forgetting the well equipped gym ..I could go on and on it was that good ..by far the best cottage we have ever hired and will certainly book again. Luxurious property yet with all the home comforts you need.

Beautiful views to the countryside, very welcoming hosts and a generous welcome pack with local delights. We made the most of using both the hot tub and gym. We will definitely be returning

Everything you could need was provided and hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The property is finished to a very high standard and we felt at home right away. Comfy beds, excellent showers, great wifi, gym and hot tub both used. We are very likely to return!

The pre arrival brochure, I got was very detailed, and the preference sheet, on how I would like the cottage set up showed attention to detail and the intention to go above and beyond for guests.

I was greeted at the gate, and given a very detailed show round the pictures online do not do the cottage justice, it is beautiful. What is most amazing is that Lesley and Andrew have put so many amazing treats and extras on for guests. The main bathroom has a basket of toiletries, scrunchies for washing yourself, huge towels on huge radiators, and it has under floor heating. In the lounge the most incredible welcome basket, with coffee, Tea, chocolates, biscuits, sweets, local honey brilliant. Also Fresh flowers on the table. In the kitchen washing up, scrubbers etc they have thought of everything. It's stunning courtyard with big modern hot tub, and views over the fields. Lesley and Andrew are superb hosts, and I wish them luck on this new venture, genuine hardworking people it was a pleasure to meet them.

The quality of the furnishings was of a very high standard indeed. Beds really comfy. Welcome pack very thoughtful with local tea, coffee and chocolates etc. Hosts also supplied very useful things like foil, cling film, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets, salt and pepper, also tupperware provided in case we wanted a picnic. Plenty of toilet rolls left too. Cottage very private both front and rear and the setting was lovely. Very good quality hot tub and garden furniture. All in all would wholeheartedly recommend.
