    We came here for a long weekend in December 19, and immediately booked another 3 weeks in 2020 ...

    We came here for a long weekend in December 19, and immediately booked another 3 weeks in 2020. This is the nicest holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in, and we have been having this type of holiday for over 20 years. The barn is very comfortable, warm and cosy. Very tastefully fitted out and well equipped with everything you need. Spotlessly clean and it immediately feels like a home from home . Dean, the owner is incredibly helpful and the welcome hamper is both well received and very generous. He is always on hand with helpful advice. There is even an emergency phone in consideration of poor/no mobile reception. You should never need to use it but it is useful for people to ring you if needed. Internet is very good. No noise at all and complete privacy thanks to a surrounding wall, which is also great when letting the dog out. The location is perfect, with walks from your front door or the lovely Ashbourne and the start of the Tissington Trail within 3 miles. The Duncombe Arms is superb and only a mile by road or quicker across the fields in better weather.

There are also numerous surrounding fields for your dog to enjoy at its leisure.

Ashbourne is under 4 miles away and offers a variety of shops on traditional cobbled streets as well as many pubs and restaurants.

Alton Towers theme park is just a 20 minute drive away for thrillseekers.

Matlock is a shorter drive away, a beautiful location baring a lot of scenery.

An astounding luxury holiday home set in a sublime location, this cottage can be enjoyed throughout the year.

Matlock 14 miles.

Lying at the southern end of the Peak District, Ashbourne is a perfect example of an English market town - market place with stalls, eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, coaching inns and almshouses. In its heyday in the 18th century, the town was a fashionable social centre and many fine Georgian buildings remain from this period. Today the town still has much to offer in terms of restaurants and inns and is regarded as something of a haven for antique hunters - but don’t expect a bargain! For those who prefer more outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by. Alton Towers is just 20 minutes away.
