  • "Lovely homely cottage."

a lot of thought has gone into making it welcoming. only one downside which we were made aware of before booking was the steps at the back. we are elderley but obviously didn't realise how we would struggle. we have visited this beautiful area several times and will do so again. our favourite local area was the whitworth, dogs loved running around the park.

Dear Geraldine & Peter Thank you for this great feedback, I do understand about the steps in the back garden, for most guest they are fine and I'm sorry they were a problem for you. It is something that I will consider addressing in the future to give better accessibility to Robin Cottage. I'm so glad you enjoyed the area and found great places for yourselves and the dogs. • "We loved Robin Cottage, a real home from home."

Everything you could ask for inside and out. Well equipped kitchen and bathroom, comfy bed, Free view on television, plenty of books to read, Games and children's DVDs. Towels and bedding provided as well. Furry friends are not forgotten either with treats, towels, dog bowl and hose for muddy paws. A safe and secure garden for dogs and our dog was quite happy there. The road to the front was noisy but with the windows closed this was negligible. Suzanne the owner has put a lot of thought and care into the cottage which we appreciated and we felt if there were any issues they would gave been dealt with straight away. The food basket, milk, butter, bread, cereals, eggs and yummy scones and jam, was a lovely touch which took the immediate stress of going shopping away so we could have a cuppa on arrival. There are some steep steps at the back into the property but we didn't find them a problem. Parking was a bit tight and reversing in was definitely easier but wasn't a big issue. Lovely area with plenty of walks and places to see. We would definitely like to return in the future.

Dear Fran, Ian & Raven I am so glad that youall enjoyed your stay at Robin Cottage even though the weather wasn't the best! Thank you for the lovely feedback and I do hope to welcome you all back in the future. Kind regards Suzanne Property Owner

We enjoyed a short break but will book for longer next time, the owner is so helpful and thoughtful. Definitely 10/10. A little gem of a find

It was absolutely perfect for us, fantastic property with great facilities for a comfortable break away from home. The owner could not do enough to make our stay comfortable, and left us a fabulous welcome pack including lots of goodies and an Easter egg for our son. The property was close to all the key attractions including Matlock, Bakewell and the Peak District. I could not recommend the property enough and the owner even posted some belongings we left at the property. Five stars from us!

Was great having a dedicated parking spot to come back to. Suzanne provided great communication from the beginning and left a wonderful welcome basket - thank you! We were looking forward to the wood burner, but it was out of commission whilst we were there. Overall, was a really nice cottage and would definitely stay again.

  • "The cottage has been renovated to a good standard and is artistically furnished and appointed."

Small living room but good size kitchen/diner/bedrooms and bathroom. It was very comfortable. We were, however, disappointed that the first we knew about the steep steps was after we had fully paid, when we received an email from the owners. On checking the photos on-line, it is clear to me that photo 13 has been deliberately aligned to completely obscure the steps with the lavender plant. My wife is a blue badge holder, and you need to be upfront about this. The alternative front door usage is not viable. I think you need to attend to this matter to avoid any claims for accidents in the future. I do understand that your ownership of the property is quite recent, however. Lastly, the duvets were only 4.5 tog, which proved to be inadequate for this time of year.

Dear Roger Thank you for the constructive feedback, I am always looking to improve the service to my guests. I will indeed make sure that the steps are indicated on the website description. I'm sorry about the duvets, the weather had been so up and down and I thought the low tog was best together with the throws for your stay. Kind regards Suzanne Property Owner

The garden was secure for our lovely old Labrador, who did find the steps a bit steep at the back, but we just went out via the front door so that was fine. The parking space is good. The welcome basket was generous, even dog treats were provided. It’s is in a really good spot for days out in the Peak District. We had a wonderful holiday!

There were 3 garden chairs but they were very uncomfortable! Lots of text messages and a phone call from the owners.

Dear Liz & Colin I'm sorry that Robin Cottage did not meet your expectations, I do provide 3 x 3 sets of glasses in different sizes and several regular sized mugs and include a tea pot for guests. I also provide cushions in the utility room to place onto the garden chairs and also separate fold up deckchairs. The cottage was originally built for the Railwaymen who worked in the area, I have endeavoured to maximise the space and comfort for our guests, although I seek to make improvements where possible. • "The owner could not be more helpful or welcoming, providing excellent advice and guidance and a great welcome basket, not just for us but for our dogs too."

The cottage has secure front and rear gardens and inside it is cosy and still cool in summer given the thick stone walls. Everything we needed was available and the place was well looked after and spotless. One minor downside was the road noise from the front of the house but effective double glazing and a back garden meant this was not an issue for us. It is a great central base for exploring the Peak District and we found some good walks straight from the door. Excellent value.

Dear Alistair Thank you for the feedback. I'm really glad you had a good time in the Peak District. I understand about the road noise so it is mentioned on the booking website and is why there is triple glazing to the front of the cottage. Kind regards Suzanne Property Owner

It had everything as advertised( not all are) . The welcome basket was a nice addition including a couple of Easter eggs. The bed was comfy, the cottage warm enough not to need the wood burner at night and the garden was totally secure which gave us peace of mind with our resident escapee Cocker Spaniel. The tv was a bit complicated at first however we sorted in the end. We would fully recommend this cottage. Suzanne the owner was brilliant right from the start. • "We stayed for a week early March, with our 16 month old pointer."

The cottage was absolutely perfect for us. Suzanne was in contact a few days before our holiday - by phone and email with clear directions and suggestions of places to visit. Lovely welcome pack for us and the dog. Cottage really warm and cosy, we didn't need to light the log fire at all. Pleasantly surprised that we had no noise from the road at all, which had concerned us at first, but it was fine. Two of the main things we wanted was an enclosed garden (it is small, but perfect as we were out on walks every day); and parking (we found it easier to reverse into the space). There are walks straight from the cottage - our favourite was walking up behind into the woods and then onto the moor. But the cottage is also in a great location for seeing the Peak District. We never spent longer than 30-40 mins in the car getting anywhere. We had long walks every day - Mam Tor; White Edge; Birchen Edge; up on the peaks behind Haversage; Bamford Edge overlooking the Ladybower reservoir. Also wandering round the grounds of Chatsworth House. It was our first visit to the Peak District, and we had a wonderful time, definitely helped by staying in Robin Cottage.

There are also lovely walks straight from the cottage. Lots of useful information on that available in the cottage. Such a good dog friendly cottage, great to have a secure garden and have the utility room for drying off from wet muddy walks, and our dog loved the treats left for him! Lovely log burner to curl up in front of, and great kitchen kitted out with everything needed, including a really useful welcoming hamper. Only very minor down side was slightly slow shower pressure, but that is nit picking. We had some pretty bad weather whilst there and Suzanne was great, checking in that we were alright. Great host, really making sure we had all the check-in info needed ahead of our visit.

Dear Kate, thank you for the great feedback, I'm really pleased that you had such a good time despite the weather! Thanks for pointing out the shower pressure, I'm going to get that checked and improved now that I'm aware. I hope to welcome you back in the future. Suzanne Property Owner
