"A cozy place to stay."
We appreciated the electric blankets and effective central heating which kept us snug on chilly nights. As expected, the property was very compact, but this wasn't a problem. The village location suited us well. There were enjoyable walks right on the doorstep and the community run village shop had everything we needed.

"We had the most amazing stay at The Hayloft."
It was the perfect cozy retreat to relax over a wintery week.
The place was perfectly clean and had everything we needed. Our favourite part was its fantastic location being close to so many amazing walks and great pubs.

Comfy bed although the bedroom was pretty chilly and we could not get it upto temp but the duvet was nice and thick. Cute little seating area with Smart TV. Everything you could need in the kitchen to make a great meal. The whole space has been thought out very well

"Sweet cottage in a gorgeous village."
An upside down cottage as you enter into the bedroom. Stairs lead up to a small cute lounge with comfortable sofa and chair and big smart TV. Stairs up again to a well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Lovely linen and towels. Village has a well stocked village shop and pubs.

"Ideal for 2 people - concerned that it didn’t have its own parking but that didn’t prove a problem."
Well equippped - we cooked at home most evenings, very clean and well looked after. For men of a certain age, going upstairs for the toilet was a slight inconvenience! Great location, very friendly village and well placed to visit the Peak District. We’d come back again,

"The Hayloft is of the best holiday cottages I have stayed in - cosy, comfortable, and immaculately clean."
It is really well equipped with everything you could possibly need, including biscuits and milk on arrival. The decor is stylish and characterful with all the mod cons. It is set in a stunning location with amazing views, within walking distance of two local pubs and a 20–min drive of all of the main attractions. I was slightly worried about parking and the walk up the hill to the cottage, but we had no trouble at all getting parked on the road at the bottom, and you don’t even notice the hill after a few days! We would 100% return to Winster and the Hayloft without a second thought. Thank you for a fantastic week!

"Lovely, quirky property."
The slope up to the Hayloft was a little challenging. Really great accommodation. Everything we needed. The only thing we found was that the freezer had a solid bag of ice cubes. In it. Throw out maybe?
A bit 'out in the sticks', but really quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The owners have put blood, sweat and tears into this cottage and it shows.. The area is perfect for walking and the village has a lovely little shop and plenty of nooks and crannies to wander about and explore. Two pubs to enjoy as well and very welcoming.. A great base to explore the peaks and a lovely cottage to come back too after a long days adventures.

"Great little cottage that makes really good use of its space, and in a perfect location for the Peak District for access to towns and trails nearby."
Everything was very clean, with the kitchen and bathroom done to a high standard with everything provided that you would need (if you forgot anything). Also, finally a place that has a good sized tv to watch in the evenings (a lot of places we've stayed at seem to have TVs from the 90s).
Parking wasn't an issue for us, as there was always spaces on the road right by the cottage.
The only thing we noticed was disposing of the rubbish once we were leaving, as there are no bins outside the cottage, which didn't really bother us but it might for others.
If you are a couple or on your own, I'd definitely recommend staying at The Hayloft and would happily book again if we visit the Peak District again.

"Lovely, beautifully appointed cottage with great facilities suitable for two guests."
You are required to dispose of your household waste at end of stay because the cottage has no outside bins. A car makes that easy - you simply take it with you - but as cyclists that was a headache.

The design makes use of the 3 floors really well, the layout is good and furnishings are of a very good standard. A very high quality little cottage well worth a stay, you have everything you need and we were very cosy and comfortable.

The cottage was perfect for the 2 of us and very warm and comfortable. The location in Winster was great, close by to a pub and shop, and a short walk and drive from local towns/ villages. The cottage itself was brilliant from top to bottom and very modern. I would definitely stay here again.

"It depends what you are looking for, but if it is a quiet break for two with access to the Derbyshire countryside, the Hayloft is ideal."
It is basic, but there was everything we needed. Everything was clean and fresh and the owners had gone the extra mile in leaving us a bottle of wine. A perfect base for walking holidays and central enough to be a base for visits to popular attractions nearby. I had just come out of hospital and the path up to the Hayloft is quite steep, but we had a very enjoyable stay.. Parking was difficult, the road was very narrow and surprisingly busy in the morning, but the was a small car park not too far away from the accommodation. The owners deserve praise for converting a small property into ideal accommodation for holiday makers.

"The Hayloft is an excellent clean, comfortable property with great facilities!"
It is situated in a pretty village with a shop and 2 good pubs. No issues with parking. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped there is even a double bin provided so we could separate rubbish from recycling. Laura very kindly left us milk, biscuits and a lovely bottle of wine. We were fortunate as cottage next door was empty so Laura let us use the decked area outside. We stayed at the property during the heatwave, it was a godsend bedroom was on the ground floor so cooler thus enabling us both to get a good nights sleep. We would highly recommend this property and hope to return in the future!
