Overlea Farm Cottages

Enjoying an idyllic position at the end of a countryside lane, boasting captivating views across the Peak District National Park reaching towards Kinder Scout are a pair of barn conversions, Over Lea Barn and Overlea Cowshed. Theses barns have been superbly converted to the highest quality, with a refreshing colour palette, plush furnishings and outstanding features. The barns can be used as a romantic getaway for couples or booked together, ensuring a wonderful base for two couples or a group of family or friends to explore the delights of this rolling countryside location. Access to the properties are via a communal pathway which passes through a pretty wildflower meadow and landscaped courtyards, offering you an opportunity to soak up your surroundings before relaxing into your evening. Each property houses a Smart TV, a tablet which can control the Sonos music system (and contains a wealth of information about the local area), and a roaring woodburning stove which offers a sense of tranquillity during a winter's evening. Hayfield is the gateway to Kinder Scout and is the starting point for numerous spectacular walks. The Mass Trespass of 1932 took place at Hayfield which ultimately led to the creation of the nation’s National Parks. The delightful High Peak village of Hayfield is situated in a wonderful rural setting on the north western edge of the Peak National Park. It’s a peaceful little village, popular with walkers who are attracted by its close proximity to Kinder Scout. Serious walkers head east out of the village, up and over the green foothills to the russet expanse of the Kinder Plateau, Pennine Way and Snake Path, whilst families (and those who enjoy more gentle rambles) head west along the beautiful Sett Valley Trail towards New Mills. Edale – an alternative start of the Pennine Way - is only a few miles away. The village caters well for tourists with pubs, cafes and restaurants. Other local attractions include the Goyt Valley, Castleton – with its famous caverns - and the popular spa town of Buxton.
