Mulberry Cottage

Although cottage was reasonably ok, we found the kitchen very cluttered and certainly not suitable for four people,the stairs were very steep and with no hand rails we found this to be quite dangerous.

Sofa in lounge was very uncomfortable and needed replacing. We enjoyed our week in youlgreave a lovely and friendly village,great food and atmosphere at the Bull hotel.

The cottage was very welcoming and well- equipped.

It was small , but the space was used well. The location was really convenient for groceries and places to eat out as well as there being many beautiful places accessible on foot from the doorstep.

Cosy cottage in a beautiful village Carol went out of her way to make sure that there was a welcoming cottage waiting for us, with lots of delicious homemade provisions and locally sourced essentials laid on so we didn't have to do a big shop on day one!

The cottage is very sweet and is located close to public footpaths so it suited both our family and our dog who was made very welcome with the treats and an extra blanket especially for him. The facilities are up to date and well maintained and the beds were comfy. The weather wasn't great so it was lovely to retreat each evening to the cost sitting room with a woodburner. We would definitely return and hope to have the chance of seeing the Peak District in the sunshine! Youlgrave is a beautiful, friendly village with loads going on - there are three pubs and numerous shops and cafes; it's a thriving local community and we found it welcoming to us even though we were only there for a week!

Excellent property and very helpful owner

We enjoyed a few wintry days in this cosy, comfortable cottage.

It has everything you need plus an amazing array of welcome goodies including home made jam, chutney, cakes, wine, bread and milk. The host is very helpful. It's in a perfect location for walking and exploring the highlights of the White Peak. You don't need a car when you are here. On street parking is not a problem. And three local pubs to choose from, plus village shops, and bakeries.

We enjoyed a lovely week at Mulberry Cottage.

We were drawn to it by the photos which indicated a cared for property and this was true when we arrived. Clean and well appointed. Lots of goodies and Carol could not have been more communicative and helpful in suggestions for things to do, local info and just generally being a nice person. I have missed not texting her since we got home. I had completely failed to read the accurate house description noting the bathroom isn’t ideal for tall folk. I’m 6’5”. That said I’m glad I did otherwise would have discounted it and looked elsewhere. I got on fine with the shower, and maybe I had to lean over but the water pressure and good temperature control were the more important factors. We’ll defo stay here again next time in the area.

Comfortable cottage very well equipped and in a fabulous location for walking and enjoying the countryside.

We had such a treat staying in this beautiful Grade II listed cottage.

The charm and character of the property made for a truly memorable stay. Being right in the heart of the village was incredibly convenient - everything we needed was just a short walk away. One of the highlights was the open water swimming area on the river, just a short stroll down the hill. We were lucky enough to dip in twice a day on some days - an absolute delight. The village itself is well-served with three lovely pubs, all of which we tried, and none disappointed. The village shop and the nearby bakery were perfect for picking up daily essentials without needing to go far. Parking was no issue at all. We brought two cars due to work logistics and were able to park both easily on the street. Our dog had a wonderful time too, with an abundance of footpaths in every direction. We didn’t miss having a garden at all — there’s so much open space just steps from the front door. The surrounding countryside is absolutely stunning, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future.

Youlgreave is a beautiful historic village set in gorgeous countryside. The cottage is small but beautiful, with all mod cons. A large , comfortable main bedroom and twin room, cute kitchen and a cosy but decent-sized sitting room. Parking on the street. Plenty of places in the village to eat and close to Bakewell. Carol provided us with some lovely goodies and kept in touch about arrival times and with travel tips.

Fantastic cottage, brilliant location, must be the best equipped cottage we have stayed in, Carol was extremely helpful, friendly and left lots of goodies in the cottage.

A delightful little cottage in a wonderful setting.

It was clean and comfortable and the treats left by Carol were much appreciated. I can recommend the Farmers, a very friendly welcome by the locals and good food as well. Two suggestions - a handrail on the stairs (I am partially disabled) and a USB port to charge phones. But a very relaxing and pleasant experience!

We enjoyed our Christmas stay so much!

Everthing had been thoughtfully arranged for our seasonal visit - a pretty Christmas Tree and lights at the front door, even a Christmas table cloth. The kitchen was particularly well equipped, with more utensils than I have at home! A welcome pack of delicious cakes and preserves and biscuits for the dog too. Comfortable beds and a cosy sitting room with log burner made it very homely. Such a friendly village and super walks on the doorstep. Thank you!

Everything was perfect. Carol had left some lovely welcome gifts and a New Year card which was really thoughtful and appreciated. We love the village and were very happy with the break overall.

The cottage is very cosy, clean and comfortable and was beautifully decorated for Christmas. It has everything you need for a relaxing break, the kitchen is well equipped and the extra touches (goodies in the kitchen, magazines, games, books and even sleeping masks) make it feel extra special. The cottage is in a great location, the village is charming and there are several pubs, a bakery and a shop only a short stroll away. Bakewell is only a 10 minute drive away. The owner Carol is very pleasant and responsive, she also took the time to give recommendations of things to do during our stay. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone visiting the Peak District.

Cosy but spacious, spotlessly clean, brilliant location in our favourite village in the Peaks, just perfect. Carol was a joy to deal with, always communicative and exceptionally helpful. We can’t wait to come back soon!

The perfect getaway.

We had such a wonderful break at Mulberry Cottage and would highly recommend it. Due to some personal issues, we had to amend our dates at the last minute but Carol, the owner, was incredibly accommodating and extremely helpful. Her communication throughout has been brilliant. The cottage itself is fabulous. Cosy, clean and very well equipped. Carol has thought of everything and clearly wants to ensure visitors enjoy their stay. The welcome pack of goodies was very well received and much appreciated. The location was also perfect for us. Easy access to all of the local attractions but also a delightful place in itself. A handful of wonderful pubs, shops and cafes, all extremely friendly and offering delicious food. We have had a lovely break and are very much looking forward to returning soon.

The location was ideal for us and the facilities in the village excellent.

Wonderful holiday cottage in a perfect location for exploring the local areas,with walks literally from the front door.

Cottage is cosy and well presented with everything you need for a week away. Communication with the owner was excellent as was the lovely welcome pack that was left for us. We would definitely stay there again if we were to return to the pretty village of Youlgreave where the locals were all very friendly.

We loved this cosy cottage, it's in an ideal spot with lovely walking straight from the door.

Local amenities are brilliant with some lovely pubs/cafe. The cottage is well equipped with everything you can possibly need and there's some lovely welcome treats too! The only downside for us, was no outdoor seating area but we just went to the pub and sat outside there!!

We'd had 4 nights here and it's been brilliant, lovely cottage with everything thing we wanted,felt extremely welcomed and at home and didn't want to leave to be honest,with a party of 3 of us it was a perfect cottage in a perfect village with perfect surrounding!

This is a beautiful little cottage.

The welcome pack and treats for the dog were wonderful. The location is fabulous for walkers and anyone wanting to visit Chatsworth. We felt very much at home and would happily recommend Mulberry Cottage to visitors to the Peak District. Thank you for making our short stay so very comfortable and memorable.

Mulberry cottage is very well equipped and has everything you need to cook or clean up we had a lovely welcome bag of goodies and fresh milk to start off with a nice cuppa the cottage was ready early and the owner called us so we could get in very welcome as it was torrential rain an hour from the cottage we couldn’t work out the heating and after we called carol talked us though so we could dr out wet things a lovely stay in a lovely cottage in a wonderful village can’t fault it at all

This is a lovely little cottage, perfect for a family of 4.

A great base for trips and walking situated close to Bakewell and Matlock. Good pubs and lively village life. As this is a traditional cottage, here are some low ceilings as you head up stairs and also in the bathroom. Anyone over 5ft 6 will need to mind their head! Rest of cottage beautifully furnished and maintained and a great welcome provided.

Bathroom was rather cramped, especially the shower, I am 6'2".

lamp in the main bedroom near the window wall , working intermitantly, and eventually stopped all together, looked for a replacement bulb but could not find one.

The cottage was perfect and so welcoming when we arrived early evening.

The place was warm, everything was supplied and nothing was 'scrimped' on (toilet paper, t-bags, etc). Our dog really appreciated and loved the dog treats left. We loved the little gifts too .. VERY tasty! Parking was not a problem (on street parking) and the walking (from the front door) was absolutely awesome. We had a most wonderful, restful time .. just loved it. The owners went over and above (we left, stupidly, some things here) by sending on to us in the post .. Thank you! Thanks for a lovely break.
