"Great place to stay and cottage had everything we needed and was also very clean ."
The location was ideal to visit anywhere in the Peak district .
We would certainly return however the only criticism would be the settee was uncomfortable and very low.
The welcome pack was lovely so thank you so much for that .

"A lovely cottage tastefully decorated with helpful owners."
I need to say at the outset that our booking was probably not a typical one. Since the beginning of the first coronavirus lockdown my wife and I have sought out some of the most isolated holiday lets in south Derbyshire to spend time with our daughter and family who live between Derby and Nottingham. Being away from crowds in a rural location seemed to us the safest option for a short break.. This means we did not use many of the facilities provided.Simple breakfasts and microwaved suppers sufficed as we ate with our family for most of the time.
The cottage was clean and absolutely as described. All the facilities we used worked well and the owners were very helpful.
For parents with young children there is not a lot for children to do on site outside of the house as it is only about 100 yards from a busy road and the farm is a working farm. However Matlock itself has much to offer for children with a wonderful park including a skate park.
The only negative about the whole stay was the temperature on arrival. It is a typical stone built farmhouse with thick walls which take a while to heat up so the central heating needs to be turned up a couple of hours before guests arrive in winter. I would recommend this cottage for anyone wanting a quiet, clean well decorated place to stay.

Well equipped, but we did wonder whether there used to be a milk jug that had got broken.
Thank you for the welcome--and the after care service, returning to a couple of items left behind!

"My 95-year old Mum and I had a fantastic four days in this cottage, made all the more special for her by a long-lost connection to Stuart's aunt."
He and Clare were lovely hosts, warm and friendly and on hand to help, if needed. It's a beautifully decorated, well-equipped cottage, with comfortable beds and a large television (great for watching the football!), in a really convenient location for Chatsworth and all the attractions the Peak District has to offer. Will definitely return, if we get the opportunity.

"We had a truly relaxing week at Rambler's Cottage."
The cottage was super clean, very comfortable and well equipped for us and our spaniels. Our hosts/family were available and helpful if needed and it was great to get some local insights. Footpath through the farm provided easy access to lovely walks for the dogs and it is generally a lovely area to explore. Could not have asked for more and exceeded expectations!

Cottage was very homely and comfortable and the owners very friendly. Our 2 year old son loved the fact we was on a working farm watching tractors and got offered to sit in the combine.
Matlock, Bakewell and Buxton only a short drive away. We would definitely stay again as there is so much more to explore.

"A lovely, comfortable holiday cottage with everything included."
Four of us stayed and there was plenty of room. A short distance from the town of Matlock, and ideally placed for lots of local attractions, including Chatsworth. Lots of lovely walks in the area and one going through the farm as well which was enjoyable. A helpful list of local walks and attractions was also provided in the cottage along with some welcome provisions. Would recommend this property and thanks to the owners for an enjoyable stay.

"We had a lovely stay at Ramblers Cottage."
It was very homely and comfortable. The treats upon arrival were very much appreciated and the owners very hospitable throughout our stay. The garden was an added bonus for our dog to play in and our daughters loved meeting Betty, Jess and Ruby. The cottage itself is an ideal location for many beautiful walks in the area. We booked this as a last minute holiday, as our foreign trip was cancelled, and we are so pleased we did. We would highly recommend the cottage to anyone and should we ever have another ‘staycation’, would certainly look at staying again. Thank you to the owners for such a nice stay.
