Corner Cottage

We have had a lovely stay in Corner Cottage.

It really is a lovely cottage to stay in, warm and welcoming from the minute we stepped through the door.There was everything we needed. from the very comfortable beds to the cosy feel from the fire in the evening when we all sat watching a film or playing a family board game after we had been out walking every day.(we were lucky with the weather, as we seemed to escape the rain!) It was really handy having the Co op on the corner! The tea shop (next door to the cottage) serves lovely food and gets an extra star from us as it is dog friendly!! There are some lovely places to visit within easy reach from Tideswell. We would love to come back to Corner cottage (as we still have lots of places to visit and things to do) in this lovely part of the Peak District.

Provided with everything required whilst you are there. Comfortable beds. Definitely recommend and we will be back. 10/10

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Corner Cottage.

All communications with Sykes and the owner were excellent and very helpful. The cottage itself is a perfect home from home, tastefully decorated with a high-end finish. The beds are really comfortable, kitchen well equipped and bathroom facilities lovely. The owners really have thought of everything and all the little touches really make a difference. Supplies of toilet roll, handwash and cleaning supplies are generous. The welcome basket was really appreciated. Highly recommended!!

Lovely property and very central for everything in Tideswell.

Very close to cafe , church , shops and pubs. Fantastic to hear the church bells ringing on Sunday morning. The house was very clean and welcoming, very well equipped and maintained. Enjoyed our time there. Cons The street parking was difficult at times. The second floor stairs to the king size bedroom do not have a handrail, which discouraged us from using it. The three steps through the front door are steep but with a hand rail , as mentioned in the cottage details, but they are a challenge for guests with slight mobility issues only because the door bottom ledge is actually set onto the top step making it a more difficult even ‘deeper’ step to take.

Excellent stay in this great cottage right in the heart of Tideswell, its got everything you could possibly need including great bike storage, it was wonderful to find a lovely welcome package upon our arrival.

This was our fourth stay in Tideswell and this cottage was easily the best.

Very nice place lovely village it is in with plenty of eating options close by (star inn very good) cottage had everything you needed very clean and comfortable if there was one thing shame there is not another toilet as wit six staying could do with it

Perfect base from which to explore the area.

Downstairs is a combined modern kitchen and sitting area, which is practical and open plan. Upstairs accommodation is very comfortable. House is well equipped. Village has various eating out options, and we particularly liked Sals Italian and The Star Inn. Elliotts Fish & Chip shop was also very good.

We were a family of 5 plus a dog staying for the bank holiday weekend and the cottage gave us everything we needed and a lot more.

The owner had thought of everything including a welcome basket which included treats for our dog. Tideswell is a great location to explore the Peak District and the people of Tideswell are so welcoming. We would recommend the Starr Inn which is just up the road for a drink and good food and is dog friendly. We arrived on the weekend of the food festival, so it was extremely busy, but we still found somewhere to park. We would definitely recommend Corner Cottage.

We’ve stayed in quite a few cottages over the years, but Corner Cottage is up there as one of our favourites.

Location is so good for exploring the surrounding areas. The cottage is warm and clean and a real home from home. I was a bit nervous about parking, but we always managed to find a spot really close. Owners are really responsive to any queries. Beds are super comfy, kitchen well stocked, great welcome hamper… I’m sure we’ll be back.

We loved our stay at Corner Cottage.

The cottage was spotless and have everything we needed, the welcome basket was a lovely touch. The bedrooms were comfy and the bathroom was spacious. We had six guests staying and didn’t really find the one bathroom a problem as we were out most of the day however an extra toilet would be excellent! The church bells can be heard all through the house at every hour which for light sleepers wasn’t the best but I didn’t hear them during the night and isn’t the owners of the cottages fault at all but just as a warning to guests!!

Excellent property and ideal for our needs

We were a family of six staying at this delightful cottage for Christmas and it didn’t disappoint, it had such a lovely feeling as soon as we walked through the door :-) The cottage is tastefully decorated and is warm and cosy, the hosts had decorated it for Christmas which was a nice touch.

It had everything we needed for our stay, we cooked a full roast dinner on Christmas Day with no problems. The lovely welcome hamper and other food items were a nice touch. The beautiful village of Tideswell is a great base for exploring the Peak District with lots of walks on the door step. It also has some great pubs and places to eat as well as a local shop, café, butchers and a great bakery. The star and The Anchor were two of our favourites, everyone was so welcoming. We all slept very well and it was a delight to hear the church bells which just added to the charm of this beautiful cottage. The only small negative we had was the struggle to find parking on a couple of occasions, this made loading and unloading the car particularly difficult. However, this might have been due to it being Christmas. We would definitely recommend Corner Cottage and a place to stay and we hope to stay again in the future. It was a very comfortable place to stay.

The decor was very tasteful. The cottage was very well equipped. The village was a good place to walk around & it was good to have pubs in walking distance. The Star inn is a good place to eat. Landlord & staff very helpful.

This was a lovely and cosy cottage, well stocked with everything you need for a self-catering home from home stay.

The Welcome box was great, especially the Clipper tea. The beds and sofas were very comfortable, with relaxing decor throughout. Plenty of lights, needed for my perpetually knitting mother, but adaptable for a relaxing feel too. Lots of useful local information provided. It is well situated for access to all of the Peak District. The owners responded promptly to a query I had. Lots of bike and doggy space and facilities in the huge cellar, including an additional fridge and freezer. We found it easy to park nearby.

The cottage is very well appointed, decorated and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen.

Our only criticism is that it sleeps six people and there is only one bathroom with the only toilet in the bathroom. We think there is plumbing and room for a toilet and possibly a shower in the basement. If there was another toilet in the cottage it would be totally excellent. Its location is good for shops etc in the village.

Lovely cottage, stocked with everything you could possibly need and more.

Tideswell is beautiful with plenty of amenities. Ate at the Star one night and also at Sals Italian, would recommend both. So nice hearing the sound of the cathedral bells. Highly recommend both cottage and village.

The house itself is lovely and in a great location.

Nicely furnished with good facilities and appliances, altho the dishwasher wasn't great, but I don't know if that was due to the appliance itself or the dishwasher tablets. We found the TV remote not particularly user friendly - getting the cursor in exactly the right place was a challenge. Also for some reason BBC is tuned into London rather than the local channel. We had a very hot couple of days during our stay, the bedrooms would benefit from the addition of fans. Parking was available on the road although not right outside the house. The only slight negative is that the bells at the Cathedral of The Peak ring out all night every night!

Tideswell is a perfect location for walking or cycling around the Peak District.

The village is less touristy than many of those around it but better value as a result. Corner cottage literally has everything you need on your doorstep — a selection of pubs, co-op supermarket 1-minute away, Tindalls bakery (pork pies and pasties for walking picnics

The little hamper of essentials, wine and dog treats was a lovely surprise. Would definitely stay again.

The cottage exceeded our expectations.

The kitchen is really well equipped with everything you might need. Dining area and sitting area are comfy, nice to have the board games! All bedrooms are great and beds so comfy. Useful basement with its own entrance so good for boots and bikes etc. location in village is good. And the village was a good size with few options for eating out. Parking is on street but was not a problem. All in all perfect for our stay. Thank you !!

We have just returned from a 5 day stay in this beautiful cottage.

Spotlessy clean, well equipped to a high standard and the welcome hamper and extensive range of teas, coffees and hot chocolate sachets were a really kind gesture. Bedding, pillows and beds are the best we’ve ever slept on. Really cosy and welcoming property in a quiet yet busy enough village. The local Italian Sals offered a really lovely menu and take your own bottle made it not an over expensive outing. We also had a take away from the curry hut in Hope Valley and the local pubs are all lovely and dog friendly . Lots of walking and was great to come back to a warm, clean and well equipped cottage. Would definitely love to stay again . Even the weather was kind. Thankyou to the owners.

We loved our stay at Corner Cottage over new year and would definitely return.

The cottage was clean, cosy and had everything we could wish for and the hamper on arrival was a very kind gesture. The village is pretty, interesting and peaceful. There are three nice pubs within walking distance along with an Italian restaurant and a small selection of shops. We would love to stay again, thank you.

Booked for Xmas week had a fabulous stay , super clean , so well equipped ( brought lots of items I didn’t need too) , great location -would defo recommend to anybody -we were 4 Adults, 2.

5 year old toddler and a Labrador -suited us well.Great having cellar so you can take muddy shoes off , clean dog, leave pushchair in and also wash & dry clothes .Tideswell has a lot in the village so if you have forgotten to bring anything easy enough to buy there and the 3 pubs lovely too. A lovely hamper was left for us & cottage was also decorated for Xmas , thank again Stuart & Mandy for the lovely time we had at your place
