  • "Lovely week stay at Temperance Croft ."

    Spotlessly clean and warm on arrival. Equipped with everything you could possibly need for full self catering and of good quality . Constant hot water with a lovely shower. Easy fully adjustable heating. Comfy bed and seating with quality towels and bedding . The property was a lot bigger than we expected which was a bonus. Great safe parking. A much appreciated generous welcome basket awaited our arrival. The owners Angela and James live next door a few yards away from the detached Croft, they are so friendly, welcoming, and are the perfect hosts. Would definitely recommend.

    It’s fully equipped with everything you need (home from home) The location is great for exploring picturesque Derbyshire. The owners Angela and James are very friendly and welcoming, perfect hosts.Thank you Angela for the lovely welcome basket and flowers, for making the gluten free bread and including gluten free biscuits it was very kind and thoughtful of you.     The Croft was excellent we everything you needed to feel at home from the start. The view were amazing and we could get to many of the attractions in no time at all. We would love to go back at a different time of the year to see the seasons change.

  • "Really enjoyed our stay."

    Angela and James very friendly and welcoming with a lovely welcome pack including home made bread and biscuits. Very comfortable and spacious and the snow, although occasionally problematical, made our stay extra magical changing the landscape into a winter wonderland! Ideally placed for Chatsworth, Hardwick, Bakewell and beyond. Loved it and have already booked a return visit!

  • "This property is perfect for two people and is so comfortable and relaxing to stay in!"

    Very easy access to the main road without any main road traffic noise!! All the amenities you will need. Cosy a warm when the weather turns unfavourable! The owners are just amazing and caring people, who seem to have thought of everything you would need for a stay We stayed 7 days but could have stayed longer! Great for access to Chatsworth and for walks along Frogett Edge giving fabulous views!! Wonderful welcome pack !! Angela’s baking is truly exceptional! We hope to return soon. Alice

  • "We were very pleased with this cottage."

    It was very clean and comfortable. The furnishings were of good quality and very tasteful. It was well equipped The king size bed was extremely comfortable. To be greeted by a basket of goodies and flowers on the table when we arrived was most welcoming. Angela (property owner) was warm and friendly. She was most helpful when, on arriving home, we discovered we had lost our house keys. Angela searched the cottage and grounds but sadly they weren't there . We would not hesitate in making a return visit.

  • "Stayed here for 4 nights in October, lovely well equiped cottage, very clean and comfortable."

    Very quiet and peacefull. Nice comfy bed, good shower, wifi worked well, virtually everything you needed was there, easy to find, good carparking space. Nice places to visit nearby, not usually one to go back anywhere, but would definately consider returning here

CHESTERFIELD

Matlock 10 miles; Chatsworth 10 miles; Bakewell 13 miles.

The historic market town of Chesterfield acts as the gateway to the Peak District, and has much to offer visitors. The town is famous for its 14th Century church with "Crooked Spire", twisting curiously from its true centre, while the frequent bustling market days are ideal for exploring the many different specialist shops and stalls which line the old Market Hall and charming Shambles beyond. The town also boasts Queens Park, with its lake, walks and summer bandstand, as well as a museum and theatre. Nearby, the Elizabethan Hardwick Hall is still impressive today, with its 6 grand towers elaborately monogramed with Bess of Hardwick’s initials, overlooking the superb gardens and walled courtyards of the grounds. Also popular is the semi-ruined 17th Century mansion of Bolsover Castle, set high on a wooded hilltop, looking west towards the heights of the Peak District. Chesterfield has a host of other attractions within easy reach, such as Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, the amenities of Matlock and Bakewell, or the opera at Buxton. An interesting base for a varied break.
