  ..The Stone and Fleece cottage was perfect in every way. Very clean, spacious and well equipped. Lovely views, walks, and only a 10 min walk to local pub Pickled Pheasant for great food. Would highly recommend....

• "Absolutely lovely property."

  The owner was lovely, easy to communicate with and friendly. The property is beautiful, comfortable, well equipped and was extremely clean. Everything was perfect and the view was incredible. Would stay here again without hesitation, everything was so wonderful.

• "Very nice property, clean and in beautiful location."

  I would recommend leaving some cooking essentials (eg oil, salt etc) and body wash and shampoo.

• "Im always apprehensive when booking accommodation, especially pet friemdly but any concerns I may have had disappeared as soon as we arrived."

  From the stunning views to the unexpected welcome basket to the natural comfort of the cottage, we knew we were going to enjoy our stay. Owen, the owner, had reached out about the link beds and again to apologise for a crack in the window so we knew that if we needed anything he was just a phone call away. The cottage was well equipped, extremely comfortable and had a shower that nasa would be proud of! The quirky layout of the ensuite and main bedroom kept us wondering about the original layout of the cottage but would not put us off coming back. 100% recommend the Stone and Fleece cottage.

• "Beautifully renovated cottage with stunning views."

  The owner was helpful and very responsive. We were a family group of 7 and the cottage was perfect for our long weekend stay. Loved having a fire a couple of evenings during Storm Dave and the conservatory provided a fabulous place to watch lambs being born! We did have to move a conservatory chair into the kitchen when sitting eating together as 7, and 7 on the two sofas was a bit of a squeeze but certainly no problem for us. We have stayed in many cottages over the years and this was by far the most comfortable and clean overall!

• "We stayed at 'Stone & Fleece Cottage' for a weekend and having visited a number of 'Sykes Cottages' over many years, I can honestly say that this is definitely the best."

  What a wonderful experience. The cottage is amazing, with spacious rooms, a stunning kitchen, amazing views of rolling countryside as far as the eye can see, and all the amenities that you could ever wish for, including a fabulous jacuzzi bath and multi jet shower which were very welcome after a busy day. It is clean, modern and is set in a perfect location not too far from Holmfirth. Owen was the perfect host. He ensured that, when we arrived, we were given all the information needed to make us feel at home and be comfortable. The welcome hamper was a real treat, thank you. I would certainly recommend 'Stone & Fleece Cottage' to our family and friends and will definitely return to this gem of a property.

• "Despite some cold weather, we had a great family weekend get-together in this cottage."

  Plenty of space, comfortable rooms, lovely view, effective heating and a good supply of logs for the fire meant we had a very comfortable time. The oven, fridge, microwave and air fryer were all great - we enjoyed cooking and eating together in the cottage. We managed to fit 3 smaller cars into the parking space. Owen the host was very helpful.

• "We stayed at Stone and Fleece Cottage over New Years eve 2026, and we had an amazing time."

  The owner was so lovely and accommodating, he messaged me weeks before check in to ask if there was anything we needed ahead of our stay, and accommodated an early check in for us. On arrival we were greeted with a lovely welcome hamper, and an idyllic cosy cottage. The views from the front of the house are absolutely stunning, I could sit and stare at them for hours. The house is also very well set up for little ones with a travel cot and high chair provided, and a stair gate on the stairs for safety. I would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful country stay. Thanks so much, I am sure we will be back :)

• "This has to be easily the best accommodation that we have stayed in and we have been using Sykes for many years."

  The space is generous and the internal decor so lovely with a real eye for detail. The beds are very comfy and the property so beautifully heated. The views out are stunning. We wrestled with leaving for the day to do our planned walks. The kitchen is fitted to a very high expectation with everything needed considered. Loved the fact that there was a tower Ninja air fryer so that we could heat the delicious produce purchased from the pantry at the fleece inn without a need for the main oven. The jacuzzi bath and large modern shower were most welcome after a long day walking. If you want a relaxing and noise free stay this is the place. The living rooms were exceptional and the fire so inviting. Our group got so lost in time playing board games at the kitchen table in the relaxing kitchen in to early hours of morning. The owners are lovely and available should you need them. Thanks so much for the lovely welcome pack. There is not enough superlatives to describe this beautiful cottage. We will definitely be back in the summer months.

• "A few miles out of Holmfirth, quite high up on the side of the valley with the most amazing views for miles."

  There is a large patio where you can sit with a glass of wine just taking it all in. The cottage has been newly refreshed with a large family kitchen and 2 large comfortable lounges. Make sure you get extra wood for the wood burner. Upstairs there are 4 comfortable bedrooms, 3 with valley views. A shower room and bathroom. We had a supermarket delivery which worked really well and saved us having to find supplies. Get organised and have a great holiday at the Stone & Fleece Cottage.
