    Nice and spacious to accommodate our 3 families - 6 adults and 2 kids. Immaculately clean and everything you could possible need. Lovely and peaceful and a short 10 min walk into Holmsfirth itself with its fabulous selection of bars, restaurants and shops. Lovely host who provided a very generous welcome basket - thank you!

  • "I couldn't recommend Hill Top Cottage enough!"

    It's beautifully presented and has everything you would need (and more!) included. The hosts were wonderful and welcoming, making us feel very at ease staying at the property. The location is perfect, just a short stroll to the centre of Holmfirth, but somehow feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, with beautiful views. We are already trying to find a date to suit us all for a return visit :)

  • "Absolutely beautiful cottage which had everything we could have ever needed."

    Location was fab and the glorious sunshine all week meant we got to enjoy the patio. The hosts were lovely, friendly and helpful. Short walk to the town with lots of lovely pubs and restaurants. Our boys used the local fitness centre as well. Would definitely recommend coming and we will be back!

    It is spacious, furnished really tastefully, well equipped and spotlessly clean. It has a lovely outside patio with tremendous views and is only around 15 minute walk to the town.

    Our stay at HTC was wonderful and the cottage itself was amazing. It far exceeded our expectations and the on line photos do not do not really hint at what a great place it is to stay at. Mark and Katie have done a marvellous job with the restoration. Full credit to both of them.

  • "We had a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend at Hill Top Cottage."

    We took full advantage of the ample seating in the patio area in the sunshine. The Cottage was lovely, well maintained and well equipped, having everything in it we needed. Although it is classed as a cottage, it's really big, over three floors. The location and views were excellent and I'd thoroughly recommend it.

    The cottage was warm, cosy, well equipped and very clean. The beds were very comfortable and a fantastic location. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. The shops and restaurants in Holmfirth are lovely and very dog friendly. We will definitely return.

  • "Mark & Katie were great hosts!"

    The house is beautiful and all amenities were so well thought out. Myself and my family stayed for Christmas Eve through to Boxing Day - all utensils and appliances were there already so we had no issues with cooking Christmas Dinner. Laundry detergent, dish washer tablets and bin bags too! The beds were super comfy and the house remained warm and cosy throughout. It looks liked a brand new home! The house is perfectly located being only a short 5-10mins walk into Holmfirth - with an abundance of bars, cafes and restaurants to choose from. We had a brilliant stay and would definitely book out this home again. Thanks so much for having us and being such fantastic hosts. Your home is a credit to you! 10/10!!!   • "We had a fabulous stay at Hill Top Cottage."

    The property was immaculate , very tastefully furnished with lots of attention to detail. The kitchen was well equipped & we loved the 2 seating areas, with great views across the valley. We were a group of 6 and there was plenty of space to accommodate us all. Good location, approx 10 mins walk down the hill into the town. Highly recommended

  • "The house was beautifully decorated and we felt instantly at home."

    Fully stocked kitchen to help prepare a family meal at the gorgeous dining table, some generous treats on arrival... and a Christmas tree to add to the festivities. We couldn't have been happier, every . It was a magical, special time creating memories with my Mum who has recently been diagnosed with dementia. We're so grateful for this experience.

    The cottage is finished to a high standard & has everything you need for a comfortable stay, topped off with beautiful views across the valley. We had great communication with the owners prior to check in & I'm sure they would have been quick to respond if we had any problems (which we didn't!) Highly recommended place to stay!

  • "Wow! If you are looking for somewhere special to stay Hilltop Cottage is the place to go!"

    It is absolutely fabulous with all needs catered for!. The cottage has been lovingly refurbished to a very high standard by the owners Mark and Katie and has the most wonderful views of the valley. Very warm and cosy and the generous welcome basket was appreciated by all. We enjoyed being able to walk down into Holmfirth which has an excellent range of independent shops, restaurants and bars. Highly recommended and we will definitely be coming again if we are visiting Holmfirth.

Hill Top Cottage is a charming cottage situated in the picturesque countryside of Holmfirth, West Yorkshire.

Boasting a warm woodburning stove, stunning views from a private patio, and characterful mullioned windows, this family-friendly retreat offers off-road parking and welcomes two well-behaved dogs, perfect for families or groups of friends.

Upon entering the property, you'll be greeted by the living and dining room, which offers an inviting space to unwind, featuring a Smart TV and a woodburning stove for those chillier evenings.

Sink into the cosy corner sofa and enjoy a family movie night after a joyous day exploring your surroundings.

Adjacent to the living area is a well-equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing home-cooked meals to be enjoyed at the dining table, seating eight.

For a quieter moment, head upstairs to the additional sitting room, furnished with two sofas and another Smart TV, providing an ideal spot for some downtime.

The property boasts four well-presented bedrooms spread over two floors.

On the first floor, you'll find a double bedroom served by a shower room.

HOLMFIRTH

Peak District National Park 3 miles; Meltham 4 miles

The old traditional Pennine town of Holmfirth is situated in the heart of the beautiful Holme Valley, on the edge of the West Yorkshire Pennines. Made famous by The Last of The Summer Wine TV series, there is more to Holmfirth than Compo and Nora Batty’s stockings! The ‘Picturedrome’, the North of England’s finest live music venue attracts many famous bands and is located right in the centre of the town. The pelotons from the Tour de France 2014 and the Tour de Yorkshire have both been through this quaint Holme Valley town en route to the iconic 524 metre Holme Moss climb two miles away. It is in these hills where cycling’s triple Olympic Medalist Ed Clancy grew up. Holmfirth also has a good public swimming pool and fitness centre, parks and some super shops and restaurants. The people here are friendly, the streets are quaint and the scenery is breathtaking. The Peak District National Park with its moors, dales, forests, lakes and reservoirs is also easily accessible. The Upper Derwent Valley, home to the spectacular Ladybower and Derwent reservoirs, and where the famous 617 ‘Dambusters’ Squadron practiced the audacious bombing raid on the Ruhr valley in 1943, is only a short scenic drive away. Slightly further is Chatsworth, the stately home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, and situated close to the market town of Bakewell, the home of Bakewell Puddings. The Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The National Coal Mining Museum, Wentworth Castle, and the Hepworth Gallery are also within short drives away and well worth a visit. For a spot of culture, Holmfirth has annual festivals with many more attractions that bring visitors back for more; such as the Folk, Arts, and Food & Drink Festivals. Also not to be missed, is Holmfirth Vineyard and Restaurant, where you can book wine tasting tours and enjoy a lovely meal in the restaurant.
