    We couldn't be happier with our experience! The house is warm and welcoming, with plenty of space. It was lovely and clean and the views from the garden are exceptional. The hosts were lovely and friendly and gave us such a warm welcome. We would absolutely stay here again!

  • "Spent Christmas at Moorbottom Stables with family and really enjoyed the property and its location."

    The house is spacious, very clean and comfortable. It really was a pleasure to wake up to the scenic views from every window. The house is tucked away along a track so it's very peaceful but only a short drive to nearby towns so you can have the best of both worlds.

  • "A really lovely property, Moorbottom stables was much bigger than expected with stunning views all around."

    The owner Ros came by when we were there to check if we had everything we needed. A nice touch was the bottle of red wine left in the kitchen for us. I would definitely recommend to others if they are in that area to stay there.

  • "The hosts were rude and condescending to us, the place was cold and the floor freezing, I had shoes, socks and a jacket on inside."

    The underfloor heating is inadequate, they told us it would take 24 hours to warm up, not good enough. We explained that the cold may affect my epilepsy, they weren't interested. We got Sykes involved, the hosts lied to them, saying the heating only takes a couple of hours to take effect which was completely untrue. Sykes spoke to us and was basically very unhelpful and smug about the fact that we were stuck there. I had 2 seizures that evening thanks to the cold temperature and the confrontation with the hosts. My partner slept with his socks on all night and his feet were still cold next morning. We had to stay overnight as it wasn't safe for me to travel after having the seizures. We left less than 24 hours into a 5 night stay, out of pocket and frustrated at the lack of support from sykes and the hosts. I would not recommend sykes or moorbottom cottage to anyone.

  • "Stayed here the evening before my wedding with my bridal party, the host was so lovely and helpful and couldn't do enough for us."

    The house and grounds were beautiful, absolutely loved my stay, thank you so much! My only feedback would be a hook somewhere would be helpful to hang dresses from to steam them/take photos (only mentioned as the owner said a few brides stay here) thank you so much again!!

    The views are amazing and it was clean with very comfortable beds. Ros and Paul were fantastic hosts and made sure we knew where they were in case we needed anything. We stayed here the night before and the night of our wedding that was a short walk to the Fleece. Perfect location. Thanks for having us!

  • "Everything about this property was perfect for our family."

    The rooms were comfortable and the home was clean and nicely decorated. The views were breathtaking! My son loved seeing the ponies and exploring the road to see the other animals. Our daughter has a disability and this property was accessible for her with no concerns. Ros and Paul were very helpful and so nice to have next door! I can't recommend this lovely place enough and would love to go back and stay again!!
