The property

Solva 6.6 miles.

Woodpecker is an agreeable single-storey house resting on a working farm in Clawddcam near Solva, Pembrokeshire.

Perfect for families and friends, this pet-friendly abode features an open-plan layout, a garden with furniture and off-road parking.

As you arrive, a gravelled frontage with a seating area creates a gentle first impression, and potted plants frame the entrance before you step through the patio doors into the open-plan living space.

Wooden walls define the kitchen area where a bricked breakfast bar with a wooden countertop invites you to settle with a drink while meals sizzle on the electric hob, and the electric oven, fridge, freezer and washer dryer sit neatly to support your stay.

Moving into the sitting area, exposed stone walls bring a rustic character to the room as you unwind on the sofas and enjoy an evening film on the Smart TV with the warmth of the electric central heating softening the space.

The single-level layout guides you to the double bedroom and the bunk room, each offering a simple place to settle after the day’s adventures, while the industrial-style shower room with its walk-in shower, basin and WC gives you a refreshing space to get ready each morning.

When you step back outside, the patio and artificial lawn provide an easy place to enjoy the fresh air, and the barbecue invites long summer evenings sharing food together without needing garden views to set the mood.

For memorable days out within an hour, families will love wandering through St Davids where the remarkable cathedral rises over the city’s narrow streets, stepping inside its grand interior before browsing the nearby shops and cafés; a trip to Solva Harbour offers chances to watch boats bob at the quay, explore hidden coves at low tide and enjoy ice cream as you follow the harbour path; and Newgale Beach provides space to run across sweeping sands, paddle in the shallows and watch surfers take on the rolling waves, all perfect for creating easygoing holiday memories.

Likewise, Woodpecker Cottage is also close to the Blue Lagoon, Abercastle, Aberrieddy and Porthgain Harbour.

End the day with a meal at the Farmers Arms at Mathry.

Woodpecker offers a simple, appealing base for laid-back Pembrokeshire days.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £250.

Just a few miles from Solva you can visit St Davids, the smallest city in Britain, with its magnificent St Davids Cathedral and wander the small streets to again find unique gifts, eat a hearty meal or an afternoon tea, or just sit in the peaceful grounds of the cathedral, it also houses Oriel y Parc an information centre offering suggestions for exploring the surrounding area.
