we know the area very well and favourite place of ours and our stsy at learan was wonderful our balcony views were amazing of schiehallion and loch rannoch , peaceful and rupert and eleonore were so welcoming to me and my family looking forward to going back again thanks

I had a lovely stay at the cottage.

It was easy to find, and collecting the keys from the key safe was simple and convenient. The location is absolutely perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful break in a remote setting. There was plenty of parking, and being able to park right next to the cottage made loading and unloading really easy. The views from the cottage are stunning, and at night you can clearly see the stars, it’s incredibly quiet and peaceful. There’s lots of local wildlife around too, which made the stay even more special. The area is full of beautiful walking routes, and I really enjoyed exploring the surroundings. The cottage is also dog‑friendly, which was a big bonus for us. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. My score would have been a 5, but the oven was very dirty. I usually cook pizza directly on the shelf, but I couldn’t do that because it was completely black. As expected, the kitchen equipment wasn’t brilliant either. Also the cottage has a private water supply and the water was brown. We arrived with bottled water because we have not liked the taste of the water in other properties with a private water supply. I expect it is safe to drink but it does not look very nice. Just a note for future guests: the nearest shop is about a 20‑minute drive and is a little pricey, and the closest supermarket and petrol station are around 50 minutes away. Make sure you arrive with everything you need or be prepared for a bit of a drive.

I used to live in the area of the cottage and know the location well.

Wallace (and the other adjoining properties) are in a great spot for access around the loch and to places that absolutely need to be explored! Wallace itself is really comfortable with just about most things you would ever need. We loved it. There was a nice welcome and everything worked as it should. Thank you - we will be back :-)

We absolutely loved our stay in Wallace.

The cottage was comfortable and was very well equipped, it really had everything we needed! The location was simply stunning, we loved waking up to the views of the loch and the surrounding hills. The host was amazing throughout the process of booking our stay and couldn't have been more helpful. We will definitely be back!

Could not fault the location but the property is in need of some TLC.

Mattresses are old and need replacing, too soft/roll to the middle. No cleaning products provided, only one small tea towel, no salt or pepper in the condiments. An eclectic mix of pots and pans. An air fryer would be a great addition. Quite noisy downstairs due to no underlay for carpet upstairs. The fridge is badly stained and needs to be replaced, also very small for 4 adults.

The cottage was in an idyllic location and was spotlessly clean and well-equipped.

We found plenty to do in the area, including fishing, walking and eating out. We would have no hesitation in recommending the area and the cottage.

Our stay was as ever wonderful.

Beautiful environment and comfortable cottage. However any benefit gained from the stay was destroyed by the aftermath. We were falsely accused of damage that was completely unreasonable. We were charged for 4 hours cleaning when the cottage was left in immaculate condition after many hours ensuring it was perfect. Our family has been to these cottages many times over 25 years without ever having a problem. We have always had good relationship with the owners. It feels like we are no longer welcome and goodwill has been destroyed maybe intentionally. It feels as though we have been victimised and indeed treated both unfairly and dishonestly. A very unhappy ending. And Sykes has not helped at all in mediating.

The property was spotless, the interior design was simple and elegant, the living areas were spacious, and the view was just... wow! The owners were very nice too! :) The bedding could have been a bit more comfortable, as we sometimes felt the springs in the mattress. Nothing too serious though. Blackout curtains would also definitely be a plus. The washing machine and dryer were outside the house and it was not very practical, as we had no laundry basket (though I must admit we did not ask for one). I was also not aware (or maybe I forgot) that it was not free. However, I did appreciate the eco-friendliness of only having one washer and dryer for all the dwellings. I was aware of the fact that dogs were welcome, I unfortunately did not account for the fact that there are often carpeted floors in the UK, so my dad had a small allergic reaction due to that. The property is also a bit far from many places where we wanted to go, but in a way, it is also what makes it charming. You cannot park just outside the dwelling, which can be an advantage just as much as it can be an inconvenience, especially late at night, as there are no lights (not practical if you need to see where you're walking, but much welcome when you don't want to be woken up by lights in the middle of the night) All those "inconvenients" only represented like 1% of our experience, and we still appreciated the property very very much. We will definitely come again if we're ever in the area again, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone!

Great location with gorgeous views of the Loch and surrounding mountains.

Free fishing is available on the property and lovely walks on your doorstep, peace and quiet - perfect! The cottage was very comfortable and had everything needed for a relaxing staycation. The owners were lovely and welcoming and loaned us some of their fishing rods. Highly recommend it if you want a tranquil location for some much-needed R&R. Thank you! :)

Wallace cottage is a perfect little gem, located in in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

As you can tell I loved it all! The owners provided lots of touches that made staying away from home a lot more easy - bbq charcoal, towels, hairdryer to name a few. I almost don’t want people to know about it - I will definitely return.

We had an amazing stay, the cottage was very spacious, it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

It was an extra special touch to arrive to gluten free shortbread which I could enjoy with the family. We explored the local area and loved the wildlife we could watch from the veranda.

Had a great relaxing holiday at the highlands staying at the Wallace.

Clean and adequate space. Contemporary furnishing. Quiet location but not too far from the main road. Facilities were satisfactory. Few extra kitchen utility items would have added to the happiness of foodies like us who love to cook their food.

We had a great stay, the cottage is perfectly laid out for a comfortable weekend.

The braais (BBQ's) were a great touch together with the picnic table for outside dining.

Awesome property with great layout that gives amazing views.

Location is great too, we really enjoyed the wildlife and there was a better than expected mobile phone connection on EE network.

Absolutely amazing property!

We had a fabulous week's stay in February. The cottage was beautiful, clean and spacious with amazing views. Such a brilliant base for exploring the area. The owner was brilliant pre arrival and we met the cleaner on our last day who was lovely. Would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful week staying at Learan Farm.

We booked Wallace, Campbell and Bruce and all were faultless. Amazing views and the houses were well equipped, comfortable and spotless. The weather was glorious and the views are incredible, highly recommend!

Our holiday was fantastic, beautiful place x

Due to having to remove 5 bats from inside the cottage 2 night in a row we decided to leave a night early after getting no sleep on those 2 night, we made the property manager aware of this and she also seen on of the bats flying around in the house.

After we got home we then received a patronising email saying as a good will gesture they will refund us for the night we left early which we had already asked to be refund this as the property was not inhabitable due to this. A good will gesture would have been a refund for the 3 nights, I wasnt even wanting a full refund just the one night agreed before we had left but the patronising manner in which the email was written as if they were doing me a favour will definitely make me think again before using the Sykes again and shall look elsewhere first.

Excellent holiday house beautiful location great view from balcony

The cottage was really well presented and the view from the balcony was amazing.

The beds were very comfy and we slept really well. We had a great holiday and would certainly recommend it too friends. Another aspect that impressed us which might be of interest were the dark skies . The number of constellations that were visible were so clear. Fantastic.

Fantastic property & location, stunning views and very peaceful.

Easy to find. Our two issues were the dirty/brown water ( meant to be filtered) but it tasted like dirty water and also bath /showers the same so not clean running water which you would expect in central Scotland. We were lucky our guests were arriving the next day so they brought fresh drinking water. So if brown water doesn’t bother you then just bring lots fresh drinking water., We stayed first week in March so weren’t expecting warm weather but the cottage is extremely cold at night when the temperature drops , lots of storage heaters but the installation of the property must be poor as we all had to wrap up warm in bed and in the sitting room at night. This is a great cottage these are just two issues we felt let it down so otherwise it’s a fantastic stay we still had a great time so just be aware of these two issues.,

The accommodation was exactly as advertised,tne owners pleasant and willing to help if necessary.

Ample parking and very quiet. Although fully booked were not disturbed by other holiday makers Scenery beautiful. Ideal holiday spot for a quiet holiday Milk and biscuits and tea/coffee were included but reccommend that food is taken as nearest shop 6 miles away

We had a super two week stay.

The setting was perfect. Outstanding views from the balcony over Loch Rannoch. The properties are very cleverly designed and thoughtfully laid out. Owners friendly and helpful. If I was being picky, i would say the interiors are looking a little tired and would benefit from an upgrade. Didn't detract from a fabulous stay though. Thank you :)

Having the loch so nearby was a huge bonus for the kids.

We had great weather, a range of active and nature related activities without the crowds. Hosts were helpful and friendly. The cottage was warm and comfortable woth a great view. Will definitely be back! Amy and Bernie

This cottage was all and more up to expectations.

The upside down living was great although I have limited mobility at the moment, this didnt detract from the over all experience which was superb. Although all the cottages were attached,we didnt hear any noise in or outside the property. The owners were very friendly and helpful up to the point of supplying us with toilet rolls and kitchen rolls when we ran out. Also getting us sharp knives in place over the blunt ones supplied, absolutely great. Waking up each morning to the stunning views over the loch and the top of Shierhallian in the distant will not be for gotten. Thankyou, we will be back.

Loved the fact there was a balcony to sit out .

we landed really lucky with the weather although upstairs got very warm and couldn’t keep the balcony doors open because of the dreaded midge a door net would be a great idea and a fan for upstairs.the bedrooms being downstairs great idea lovely and cool and the upstairs views were to die for

Week spent here 19-26th June 2021.

This cottage is in a fantastic location and the views across loch rannoch are amazing - it’s like a changing picture throughout the day. The cottage is spacious - bedrooms roomy and the open plan living / kitchen dining provide ample room. Kitchen area looks a little tired although all in working order. Equally the bathroom looks a little tired but the choice of two showers (electric or mains) ensures you can have a shower any time. Hot water supply was awesome - always very hot and ‘on tap’ (forgive the pun). My one complaint is the towels - they were very small and not soft and fluffy. If one thing would would increase my rating it would be very large fluffy towels. The owners had only acquired the farm/property in March 2021 and may have future plans. Would definitely go again.

The views are Billion doller worth and worth the travelling.

The cottage was clean and had what you needed, but not having a washer and dryer in the cottage and having to walk out to a shed and share one washer and dryer with about 6 other cottages is not appealing or having to pay £2 a wash and £1.50 to dry your clothes seems a bit rich for the money you pay. While the cottage was clean it is clearly dated, that said the owners have only been there for a few months so I'm sure this will change. That said these are only minor things and we would go back.
