    The cottage has everything you need and more. The owners have thought of everything possible to make your stay perfect and were extremely helpful with recommendations of places to visit. The log burner was just what we needed after a rainy day, plenty of games to keep the family entertained! Amazing views of the Ben and a minute walk down to the Loch. Highly recommend this beautiful cottage!

  • "Lovely property and good location for Loch Lomond."

    It was good to have a smart TV when weather isn’t great. Plenty of games if you get bored. The host was helpful when we needed to charge the car. The house had everything you need and more which was great. There isn’t a lot to do in the surrounding area if you’re not a hiker or into water sports though. We enjoyed Balloch with its lovely views and shops. Also had a great meal at the Duck Inn near Balloch.

  • "Nice cottage with a modern, well equipped kitchen."

    Good to have the extra shower room downstairs. Bedroom is quite spacious but would have preferred a chest of drawers in the bedroom rather than the telescope! There is good outdoor space with plenty of seating. The cottage is handy for Loch Lomond just across the road. The main road is nearby but you don't really hear the traffic. We had lunch in the Tarbet Hotel a couple of times, which were very tasty and reasonably priced. Would also recommend The Village Inn in Arrochar for reasonably priced food and drink. Nearest shop is also in Arrochar, about a 45 min walk.

  • "My family and I had a wonderful family break at Ben View."

    The cottage is lovely, extremely well equipped and in a beautiful location. The pier for boat trips around the loch is just across the road and the views are stunning. The Tarbet Hotel is a few minutes walk away so perfect for an evening meal. Having said that the kitchen is very well stocked with condiments etc., a large cooker and fridge freezer so no need to venture out at all. We didn’t use the log burner but imagine it would make it very cosy. The owner, John, was very helpful and approachable should you need to ask any questions. We very much hope to return at some point.

  • "The house is perfectly equipped with a fantastic view of Ben Lomond."

    John the owner is incredibly helpful. I was worried about using the wood burner but he explained how to use it and sent videos. Unfortunately we had to leave early because of illness. I hope we can come back one day.

  • "This is a lovely cottage."

    We stayed just after Christmas and in to the New Year the house was decorated for Christmas which was a lovely touch. Has all the equipment you need in the kitchen the log burning stove makes it lovely and cosy. Has great views out to the front and a nice large back garden with furniture and BBQ great for the warmer months. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. Just a short stroll to the hotel where you can enjoy food and drinks. You would not be disappointed at all staying here John the owner is also very helpful and nothing is too much trouble for him.

  • "Fantastic house in a great location."

    Excellent appliances in the kitchen, the air fryer was very useful and it was nice to have a decent sized freezer as well. Log burner is a good added extra for those cold nights. Really enjoyed our stay, would definitely come back and recommend.

    The kitchen is very well equipped, we found everything in very good shape and clean, big sitting area outside and quite neighborhood.   • "We stayed here in May and had a really lovely stay."

    The house is very clean and comfortable,and the facilities are excellent. We had a great view of Ben Lomond from the spacious garden and the bedroom with a telescope!!. The information from the owner was very good. We went by train to Edinburgh from, Helensburgh parking available in station ,we also travelled up to Fort William and Inveraray for days out. The house is ideally, situated for enjoying life by and on Loch Lomond. We hope to return soon .Grant and family

  • "This is the best equipped cottage I have ever stayed at; even the hair dryer and straighteners were high quality."

    The location is excellent for many walks and excursions. Loch Lomond is a few steps from the property. The drive to Glen Coe is overwhelmingly beautiful. This was my first trip to Scotland, but hopefully will not be my last.

  • "As Jeremy Clarkson said about the Aston Martin V12 Vantage, it's fantastic, it's wonderful."

    ..wonderful...wonderful. Ben View had everything you needed for our stay and I could have literally moved in. We were lucky with the weather as well, about four or five days of sunshine. This gave us a great view of the hills. The house is very spacious the downstairs being open plan as you can see on the photos. A log burner which threw out quite a bit of heat keeps it nice and cosy. Upstairs two spacious bedrooms and a bathroom with a walk in shower. There is another shower room downstairs just off the kitchen. The beds were really comfy and slept like a log. Spoke to the neighbours who were quite friendly and helpful. The Slanj is well worth a visit too. Highly recommended, fantastic property and location.

  • "Our stay was really nice , good location and the house had all we were looking for regards to the facilities."

    BBQ was a bonus although we only used it once. While we were staying we had a heat wave, 26 degrees and we found that both bedrooms got extremely hot. Unberable on some occassions. The house is South facing so you would expect this however downstairs was a lot cooler? Maybe some thermal blinds on the windows would help both winter and summer. Apart from that we would recommend Ben View, lovely house and very peaceful.

    The house was cosy, clean and with good beds. The only tip we have is that we missed good and larger pans for cooking. We surely recommend ‘Ben view’.

The village of Arrochar lies at the head of Loch Long, the most northerly point in the network of lochs that extend north from the Clyde Estuary. Surrounded by mountains, the area has become a focal point for climbers wishing to climb Ben Arthur, affectionately known as the Cobbler and other popular mountains in the immediate area, which all lie within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Arrochar which offers a large selection of restaurants and pubs and is situated just a mile and a half to the west of the Loch Lomondside village of Tarbet, with both villages sharing a railway station that lies near the high point of the valley connecting the two. Loch Lomond, the single biggest expanse of inland water in Britain offers a variety of activities. Enjoy a gentle stroll through the Balloch Castle Country Park or the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, which will guide you past attractive lochside villages and sandy bays, or, for the more adventurous, the mountains offer challenging walks and climbs.
