COVE

Cockburnspath 1 miles; Dunbar 8 miles; Coldingham 10 miles.

The picturesque hamlet of Cove and Cove harbour are situated on the South East coast of Scotland on the border of Berwickshire and East Lothian approximately one mile from the village of Cockburnspath. Cove is ideally placed for visiting the local towns of Berwick-upon-Tweed, Dunbar, North Berwick and Eyemouth as well as the villages of Coldingham, St. Abbs and Burnmouth with their small harbours and Nature Reserves. The geologically world-famous site of Siccar Point is situated just a mile or two along the coast from Cove, and the area also boasts strong historical art connections with The Glasgow Boys, who painted prolifically here in the mid-1880s. There is a regular main line train service running from Dunbar station giving easy access to Edinburgh, with its impressive shops and history. A little further afield lie the castles of Northumberland, including Bamburgh, Holy Island, Chillingham and the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens. There are many links golf courses in the area as well as surfing at Thornton Loch and Pease Bay and diving at St Abbs. This is a superb location with plenty to see and do.
