Had a great week!

Lovely, comfortable accommodation. Well equipped, warm and with great views. Excellent shower - great to have a shower and bath. Great location with some lovely walks from the village. The pub and shop were so handy and the locals were super friendly. Just make sure to park on the street opposite the property to allow bus/ farm vehicle easy passage.

Beautiful property that was incredibly well appointed with everything you'd ever need.

The location was perfect (the local shop was amazing!) and we'd love to return someday.

Everything was perfect. It’s a lovely cottage with everything you could need. It was spotlessly clean. Lovely view from the living room window. Walks from the door and a pub a couple of minutes walk away. Would highly recommend and would definitely go back.

Ashley is a lovely cottage.

The views from the upstairs living space are beautiful. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfy. The rooms are a comfortable temperature. The location is great for exploring the Borders. We had an excellent stay.

"Ashlea" is absolutely beautiful and my family would highly recommend staying there.

It was beautifully decorated, clean and cosy. Every amenity needed was available and in perfect working condition. The property owner and Sykes went out of their way to allow us two extra nights because we loved staying there, which was truly appreciated.

Well equipped and lovely and clean apartment.

Stairs unsuitable for elderly people. Need more instructions for TV and woodburner. Lovely shower room and bathroom. Would be good to provide kitchen towel and make some bottles of water .

Great location and cottage.

Really impressed with the place. Décor was top notch and well equipped. The cottages location was ideal for visiting Edinburgh and other coastal locations such as Berwick. Highly recommend and hope to return again in the future.

We have just returned after the most perfect weeks stay here at Ashlea, it was cozy and spotlessly clean.

One thing as a recommendation maybe a bigger mirror in the bedrooms and possibly a gate to make the garden secure our dogs loved the garden we visited Edinburgh, North Berwick, Dunbar, Berwick upon Tweed, also visited the bird sanctuary which was fab. Had 2 lovely meals at The Black Bull inn in Lauder and The Waterside Bistro in Haddington is also a lovely place to enjoy a wine outside in the sunshine. Overall had a lovely stay.

Beautiful home, has all the amenities that you would need for a break away.

Oxton is a small village with only a Community shop, which caters for all your needs. House is lovely, warm and bright. Village people were very friendly. If you want to get away from it all for a few days, and just chill, then this place is the answer. There is a bus stop just outside that takes you to Edinburgh. Would highly recommend.

Lovely, cosy cottage easy to stay in and easy unloading/loading of car.

Listing needs amending though as beds in one room are two singles pushed together and not zip linked, still very comfortable and no complaints whatsoever.

Ashlea is perfectly placed to explore or revisit the Scottish Borders.

The abbeys of Melrose, Dryburgh, Kelso and Jedburgh are a short distance. Edinburgh and Abb’s Head are also worth a visit. There are plenty of beautiful places to walk in the Lammermuir Hills. The cottage is comfortably and tastefully furnished. Most of the fittings and furnishings are new and completely up to date. There is even an Alexa - very useful for us. The owners were quickly responsive to a couple of queries we had and the village of Oxton is very peaceful and quiet. The local shop is brilliant! We hope to return one day.

We had a brilliant last minute stay and had a thoroughly great time.

The home was very comfortable and well provisioned. The furnishings were extremely comfortable. It was a great base to explore the lowlands and borders. We would recommend and would happily stay again (sorry we did the recycling before leaving, but forgot to put the bin out). Thanks for having us

Very nicely renovated and equipped.

Bedrooms were both comfortable and had excellent beds and bedding and furniture. Good amount of storage. Downstairs bathroom similarly well specced. Beautiful quality staircase to first floor. Lovely views over the hills opposite and a very pleasant vista to take in over a coffee. Comfortable sofa and two fairly firm chairs. Decent to with Netflix, IPlayer etc. Well equipped kitchen with new appliances and utensils. Good dishwasher. Upstairs shower room was excellent with a very powerful and hot rainfall and handheld shower extension. The whole place has been thoughtfully designed and a good quality renovation done. It all feels very new. Immediately outside is adjacent parking, on both sides of the street. Perhaps 25m away is the local village shop, which opens mornings only. A decent range of the essentials and some locally sourced produce too. A bus stop is there too- with fairly regular buses to Edinburgh. An adult day return was about £10. Instead we drove to the Ingilston park and ride, parked for free and took the tram, about £10.50 for three of us. We used the cottage as a base for exploring the area- using our National Trust Scotland cards to visit Cragside, Robert Snail’s printing works and a large house near Edinburgh. Well worth having the card and it gave us some focus to the week. Also visited Berwick on Tweed, Holy Island, Eyemouth and Dunbar and St Abbs Head and North Berwick. Food highlights were the Indian restaurant Dishroom in Edinburgh, a food truck, Nauti in Dunbar for seafood and Bostock bakery in North Berwick for some amazing croissants. All in all the cottage was a perfect base and retreat for a week exploring quite a large area.

This is a great cottage in an excellent location, so close to a plethora of places to visit from the coast, to Edinburgh to a wide range of walks and visitor attractions.

The accommodation has all that you need for a comfortable stay. Lovely, tasteful decor, all mod cons, two bathrooms, well kitted out kitchen. We loved it and are already considering booking for a week next year! Thanks!

The house was first rate and we really enjoyed our time staying there.

Everything was to an extremely good standard, beds were super comfortable and was very clean. Would definitely recommend this house.

Had a lovely stay in this beautiful home.

The property is gorgeous inside with stylish decor and interesting pictures and ornaments. It was very welcoming with everything you could possibly need included.
