  • "Wayside Lodge provided us with extremely comfortable, warm, and clean accommodation."

The location was very picturesque and being November, was very quiet. Having a hot tub was wonderful, especially after a hard day of walking in the beautiful Shropshire Hills. Wayside Lodge was all that we could have hoped for.

  • "The site managers were lovely especially the male, both were approachable and friendly."

The accommodation was warm and comfortable. There were no accessible hoover, brush or mop to be able to clean. We took our dog and it would have been nice to have been able to clean the floor after our walks. The Hot tub smelled very strong of cloreen that it stung our eyes, we even told them not to attend to it for the last 2 days. During our week stay we only used the Hot tub 3 times which was part of the reason for booking that location. When the jets were on in the Hot tub black bits came out and were floating about, we even had to buy a net to try to clean the black bits out. When we arrived we were informed that the games room and bar area was closed. This was disappointing as we had two 12 year olds with us who was looking forward to the games room. We were left a folder with how to work things in the accommodation, however the Wifi code never worked to either of the log ins given resulting in two very board children. The Sky TV was our saving although this was still limited. The log fire was lovely but again there were nothing to light it with and we had to go a purchase a lighter to light it.

  • "My family (including my dog) had an amazing stay here."

It was very clean and the hot tub was clean and properly maintained too. We did have an issue trying to connect to the WiFi here so we just used our data but I’m sure it would have been sorted out if we asked. Also the cabin is on a camping site which wasn’t stated on Sykes site, but that wasn’t a problem as it was nice and quiet in the evenings. We also discovered a wasp nest at the back of the cabin which we brought to the attention of Ian (the owner) So all in all we had great break away and would definitely go back again.

Wasentvery good heating didn't w ork hot tub w ase nt clean w ouldnt stay again not at all private had to shut curtains know where to take the dog for a walk

Good morning, thankyou for taking the time to leave your review as all feedback is important to us. Regarding your comments, the heating did work but had been turned off due to the warm weather but we would have been more than happy to turn it back on again if you had requested. The hot tubs are cleaned prior to all new arrivals and then checked daily for cleanliness and levels. Our description on Sykes's website describes the lodge as being on a campsite but prior to your arrival via a phone call and then on your arrival you confronted the owner in a rude and aggressive manner demanding your money back because the lodge is on a campsite. The side garden and hot tub area is private and screened off with fencing from the site. Onsite we do have a small area where dogs can be let off their leads or in the private garden area of the lodge. Offsite there are numerous walks which we have details of. Property Owner

  • "The lodge was beautiful, very clean and well kept, we felt at ease straight away."

Perfect location for enjoying long walks and then relaxing in the hot tub. Have already recommended the place and will continue to. The staff were lovely and we came back with no complaints!
