A beautiful property, comfortable & clean.

Hot tub was the best & cleanest I’ve ever been into. Our only comment would be to raise the fence and add a 6 foot gate to the side of the property for privacy but also . When in the tub the wind channels down from the hill & makes it a tad chilly when getting out. Otherwise highly recommend …. Perfecto

We've had a wonderful stay in the peaceful Westhope in the Wain House.

The property is fairly spacious and it was certainly sufficient for 6 people (2 adults and 4 kids). The place was clean and beds vere comfortable! As a self catering accommodation the equipment is quite basic and it would be beneficial to add some extra items. Both bathrooms would also benefit from some shelving units as there is no space to keep toiletries. We were visiting during a heatwave and the house, particularly upstairs can get very hot but no fans (or Aircon) is available. The outside space is small, sufficient for sitting and relaxing but children had to go outside the property to play. The garden is in full sun all day and only small umbrella is available; luckily we had our gazebo with us, which protected us from the sun. There is no grass, only stones. Parking is sufficient for two large cars and the place is easy to find on Google Maps. Overall, we had a great stay!

We hired 3 properties for a family gathering of 22 people and could not have been happier.

It has been an amazing stay and we will be booking again in 2026.

Every aspect of the property was perfect.

The support service was also 5 star for a small matter. A comfortable and relaxing break.

We all had a fabulous stay at Wain House.

It was spotlessly clean and very welcoming. So many goodies too including a lovely lemon cake. Although in quite a remote area it wasn't far from all the local landmarks e.g. Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Ironbridge. The hot tub was a success too.

Gorgeous cottage with beautiful views and quiet area.

Nice to have a games room though we didn't get to use much as the weather was beautiful, so spent lots of time cycling and walking and exploring the area.

Good points: As described, very clean and tidy, lovely place to stay in.

Easy to get to and directions/instructions very useful. Less good points: Not a lot of kitchen utensils for 6 people. Parking was very difficult, other cars had parked in the space allocated to our cottage (likely because it isn’t clearly labelled in the car park) making parking very difficult.

Excellent cottage for me and my family.

Kids loved it. Very comfortable. Owners had a homemade lemon drizzle cake, chocolate and a bottle of wine waiting for us on our arrival. Not a lot around the cottage but if you’re willing to drive 30-50mins to destinations there’s amazing places around. Two which we would highly recommend are the Shropshire sculpture park and carding mill valley ( perfect for a walk and to dip feet in the reservoir)

Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to stop, rest and relax.

We loved the cottage and the lovely little welcome touches, we were however a little disappointed in the outside area, the bbq was too small and the area was all gravel and concrete and smaller than we expected from the pictures on the Web site.

The garden would be no good for a large dog. We enjoy our stay the location is good.

Welcome pack a lovely gesture, very clean, hot tub was the best I've been in. Only negative was the directions, all in our party got lost and we also found out the people in the other cottages also found it hard to find.

Great property for my family stay of 5 adults, an infant, a baby and dog.

Lovely warm property for this February stay (2024). The hot tub was very clean and we used it each day. Plenty of hot water and good showers. My recommendation for the property would be to increase the freezer size in the kitchen which limited our storage a little bit, but not too bad.

Lovely house with a cottage feel.

Lots of space for 6 and enough wardrobes etc. We only stayed for 2 nights but a week would be great. Lots of utensils and pans etc in kitchen. Bathroom and kitchen tiles need a bit of TLC but all areas were clean. We didn’t use the games room but the hot tub was really nice and the temperature was perfect. There are quite a few holiday lets on the farm so quite a few other people around the car park areas but once inside the house you don’t notice. It was very warm and snug. Nice welcome with cake and wine. We would come again with friends or family . Such a lot to do in the area. Very good contact from owner/ management team with useful information and quick responses. I've stayed here 3 times now.

Hot tub is the best we've ever used very clean and they check on it/top it up etc every day. Kids loved all the lights outside the house driving up. Homemade mince pies were amazing.

Fantastic property and a lovely stay.

The property was good set up as usual with lovely wine and cake on arrival.

Hot tub was excellent. However the games room is rubbish with most things broken and unusable. Unfortunately the holiday was ruined with all the wasps and massive hornets surrounding the property Site stores the waste bins for the complex 5m from the property and this caused so much distress. Wasps bombarded the property during the day that much we couldn’t sit outside. Then at night it was the hornets turn to come say hello attracted by the lights.

Comfortable clean and very welcoming - hot tub excellent - the only disappointment was the games room for the children - the football game was broken and the small poole table not level and worn - we took ages to find a ping pong ball for the table tennis on the very messy shelves which were such a muddle - it wants a good tidy up with some decent games and up to date books - and a specific storage spot for ping pong balls well labelled- I think if it was tidier guests might keep it tidier too - finally we were not too clear on where to put the food waste as could only find bins marked recycling?

We had a really lovely week , the cottage was well appointed and its in such a tranquil location !

Chloe the housekeeper was friendly and really helpful . Lots of lovely touches eg , the cake , milk, tea, sugar etc ! Thank you for a really fabulous holiday , we can’t wait to come back !!

Property wasn't clean I did email them ,food and spillages down the wall ,hairs in the oven and all over the furniture, skirting board filthy , mouldy areas and broken tiles in the bathroom definitely over rated , garden no privacy pictures make the property look totally different from reality Wouldn't recommend it at all very overpriced and felt a complete waste of money

Very nice clean comfortable accommodation.

Peaceful location,and near to many areas of interest for walking and sightseeing. Nice walks from the doorstep. Cupboards were well stocked with lots of kitchen essentials, and crockery which left us with the dilemma of where to store our food! ( Maybe a larder cupboard would be helpfull) Mismatched cutlery was a bit disappointing for a 5* accommodation. Bed linen was to a very good quality, and super comfortable mattress. We enjoyed our stay very much. It's a shame that not all of Sykes accommodation is to the same high standard of cleanliness as The Wain House.

Lovely stay at wain house our 2nd time visiting the place nice to get away from normal day to day rat run off life and enjoy the scenery and take some lovely walks from your door step, and on return the hot tub and games room are a added bonus would definitely recommend staying there

We had a fabulous time.

House was beautiful and suited all our needs. Beds very comfortable and all rooms were spotlessly clean. The only ask would be for some serving dishes to use at meal times. Would recommend the Wain house. Thank you

What a lovely stay.

We were a family of six but upon arrival found that there were not enough plates and other items. This was rectified within 30 minutes using the method suggested in the welcome pack. All of the little extras were a lovely touch and it was great to find the ‘essentials’ available too. Would have been good to have somewhere to run the dog but otherwise perfect

A nice touch was the cake, chocolate and wine when we got there The hot tub was lovely to relax in and watch the sheep in the fields The gym was a big hit with my son and we used the games room . Our first holiday with 4 week old grandchild and we made some lovely memories. If i had one negative it would be the very narrow road, but we got used to it and people were very courteous. Would defintely recommend

The Wain House is beautiful, comfortable in a quiet location with lots of amenities.

The Games room and hot tub were brilliant for all the family, we really enjoyed them. Chloe the manager very approachable, we had a small issue with the oven which was quickly rectified. Only one issue we found was that the dining chairs in the kitchen were a little big for the table which meant some members of the family found it tight on there legs. Overall a wonderful place to have a stay cation.

This is my third stay at this lovely cottage, the welcome gifts are such a personal touch, the house is immaculate and the hot tub is fabulous!

I have recommended to friends and they also love their stays here! It’s in a remote location so perfect for a getaway into the country to recharge

Great location to explore Shropshire and surrounding areas. The garden in the Wain House could be a little more private, a higher fence would make it more secluded. The hot tub is visible from from the drive / road.

Lots of dust and cobwebs but nice little touches on arrival the roads up to the cottage s very winding and only enough space for one car can be hard to get up and down the road

We had a fantastic holiday in Shropshire and the cottage had the best hot tub I've ever been in.

The layout of the complex has been carefully thought out with privacy and parking respected. A lovely welcome of wine, cake and milk for the first cuppa.

We have been twice before to this property and we love it.

The furnishings had been improved since our last visit, the lounge looked cleaner and brighter. We will return again.

It was beautifully presented and very comfortable.waking up to the alpaca in the field opposite was a treat and I’d highly recommend the alpaca walk.

Hot tub was amazing, lovely fields to walk across. Not far from the nearest pub with lots of shops at hand and restaurants. Chloe, is a fantastic host and would 100% love to come back!

The cottage was lovely, in a great location and well-looked after.

The welcoming touches like cake and milk in the fridge was very thoughtful. The owner was on hand at the start to cover any questions and show us how to use the hot tub. Have stayed in several cottages and this I would put high on the list, cosy and warm.

Cake and a bottle of wine on arrival too!! Owners of cottage were brilliant and reacted to issue where hot tub controller was broken. Fixed within 24hours and a bottle of wine for our troubles too. Cottage is lovely and so quiet. Can’t wait to go back.

The Wain House is a clean comfortable cottage in lovely countryside not too far from Ludlow.

The hot tub was very relaxing. The children enjoyed the games room and we all loved watching the alpacas in the field opposite. The welcome package was a nice gesture and much appreciated. The directions were helpful as it is in a rural position.

Our second visit to the Wain House, as delightful as we remembered with the added bonus this year of a field of 9 Alpacas opposite.

The hot tub is a wonderful way to round off the day even in the rather chilly late spring evenings. The four of us, plus small dog, cannot recommend this cottage highly enough, an absolute gem deep in the Shropshire countryside but only 10 minutes drive from the lovely town of Ludlow.

When we arrived the cottage was very tidy. We loved all the extras...especially the lemon drizzle cake! that was amazing!! the little touches like the cake, milk etc was a great touch as helps you settle in to the cottage. great location, so peaceful and nice to see the Aplacas in the morning

Fantastic location beautiful cottage and welcoming owner.

The only issue we had was trying to regulate the showers they were either very hot or very cold but we were only staying for two nights so no worries. Hot tub was fab, as was the welcoming cake and wine. Very relaxing and easy access to local amenities found a great curry house in Craven Arms and Church Stretton lovely town to visit.

The host was lovely and made us feel very welcome.

The place was overall very comfortable - we slept well, the kitchen was well equipped and the Jacuzzi was amazing. The only slight discomfort was on Friday as it was quite cold in the lounge - there is no radiator in the lounge so it took a while to heat up that room. All in all a fantastic stay in beautiful surroundings!

The cottage is stunning.

The owners really do go above and beyond in their attention to detail. By far one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in and would not hesitate to recommend. The only thing missing was a log burner which really would have made this cottage amazing.

Such a lovely place, we will be booking to come back.

We have just returned from a very enjoyable weekend at The Wain House.

We arrived to a warm welcome of a freshly baked cake and a bottle of wine. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Very often you need to bring your own items with you such as cleaning products and condiments, the Wain House has all of this ready for your stay, even down to salt and pepper! We took our dog with us and it was lovely to find dog bowels available for use. The hot tub was superb, again it was spotlessly clean and we used it daily, even though the weather was very cold and snowy. The cottage was wonderful and is perfectly situated in beautiful Shropshire countryside. We would definitely recommend The Wain House and hope to return in the next few months.

The Wain House was absolutely beautiful and in a stunning location.

It is very quiet and quite cut off so if you are looking for peace and quiet and beautiful countryside it is ideal. The extra touches like the homemade cake and bottle of wine are also a lovely touch.
