The Dinky Dairy

Trefonen 1.4 miles.

The Dinky Dairy is a delightful barn tucked away in Treflach, Shropshire.

Suited to couples seeking a characterful base in the county, this farm stay brings together rural charm and thoughtful touches in a setting shaped by open fields and livestock, with designated parking, far-reaching countryside views, a woodburning stove, and handsome original beams rising into vaulted ceilings.

The sitting room invites slow mornings and unhurried evenings, with the woodburning stove adding a lovely focal point when the weather turns cooler.

Just beyond, the kitchen/diner provides everything needed for easy holiday cooking, whether you are setting out breakfast before a day of exploring or lingering over supper as daylight softens outside.

The ground-floor double bedroom offers an inviting place to settle in, while the shower room is smartly finished with a walk-in shower and heated towel rail.

Above, the mezzanine study creates a flexible extra nook, with a sofa bed and a perch from which to appreciate the barn’s shape and height.

Outside, the patio is a lovely place to sit with a drink and look across the surrounding land, where horses, dogs, and grazing sheep add to the sense of country life.

A pub lies nearby and a shop is only a short drive away, making it easy to balance days out with relaxed evenings back at the barn.

For exploring, head to Oswestry for a wander around Cae Glas Park, a visit to Old Oswestry Hill Fort, and time spent browsing the independent streets around the town centre.

Shrewsbury offers a richer mix of heritage and riverside charm, with Shrewsbury Castle, The Quarry, and Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery all worth adding to your plans.

For gentler scenery, spend time in Ellesmere, where The Mere, Cremorne Gardens, and canal-side walks around the wharf make for a lovely day out.

However you choose to spend your time, The Dinky Dairy makes a charming Shropshire retreat.
