Taigh Beag is a pleasant cottage resting in Edinbane, Inverness-shire, with off-road parking, an enclosed garden and characterful open beams.

Suited to a family of four exploring the Isle of Skye, the property offers traditional features alongside practical spaces for sharing each day’s plans.

Step inside and follow the open beams into the sitting room, where natural light brightens the space and the woodburning stove forms a warming focal point.

Settle beside the fire after time outdoors, switch on the television or gather to discuss the next island adventure.

The separate dining room provides a dedicated setting for breakfasts and evening meals, while the kitchen has an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and coffee maker for preparing everything from packed lunches to home-cooked suppers.

A double bedroom awaits the adults, while the twin bedroom, furnished with two single beds, is suited to children or younger guests.

A bathroom with a bath and a separate shower room allows the group to freshen up at their own pace.

Outside, the enclosed garden gives children room to play and offers a private corner for morning coffee or meals around the garden furniture.

Edinbane places you within the rugged scenery and coastal beauty of the Isle of Skye.

Begin locally with a stroll through the village before enjoying the convenience of the nearby inn.

Pack walking shoes for days following island trails, where changing skies, open countryside and dramatic landscapes create an ever-evolving backdrop.

Families can build their itinerary around fresh-air adventures, scenic drives and stops beside the coast, returning to the garden for an alfresco meal when the weather allows.

Cooler evenings invite everyone back inside for a film by the stove, while the separate dining room offers space to plan another day among Skye’s memorable surroundings.
