  • "Nice compact cottage, perfectly suited to our stay!"

Owners live next door in the property attached to the cottage, they are friendly nd helpful Chickens and Jacob’s sheep at the bottom of the garden fascinated our dogs The Culm Valley Inn is a short distance away, serving good food and beverages and a visit is highly recommended, especially if you want a resting spot after a beautiful walk along the pretty Culm river. This little cottage is in a good position for exploring the south coast of Devon, private and quiet with parking right outside the cottage

  • "Thank you for a lovely peaceful stay at Piglet Corner."

Super cottage and really helpful owners. The fresh eggs and milk upon arrival were an added bonus! My little dog and I had a wonderful relaxing stay. Thank you Adrian and Tracey.

  • "We had a lovely stay in this cosy warm compact cottage."

The owners were very friendly without being intrusive and the location is good for walking straight from the cottage along the river Culm. National trust property’s are close by and the Grand Western Canal is close by to walk into Tiverton. The only thing I would suggest in the cottage is to lower the shelf in the cupboard with the microwave on as everyone is not 6ft 2in like me as my wife could not reach it. A better place would be on a shelf above the bin as the plug sockets are below.

  • "Tracy and Adrian apologies for not seeing you before we left as we wanted to say thank you for a lovely stay, our dog can be quite reactive with farm animals, but he settled to them being at the end of the garden."

Perfect place and lovely walks. Cottage is well equipped and the local milk eggs and honey were a lovely extra, thank you again and hopefully not too long before we come back.

Thank you so much guys for choosing Piglet Corner, we’re so pleased you both had a wonderful time. It was great to meet you and we would love for you to stay again in the future. Best wishes. Tracey & Adrian Property Owner

The accommodation was well equipped, modern, with beautiful views. Fresh eggs, milk and a pot of local honey, was a very welcoming surprise! The garden is well fenced, and our dogs loved the chickens, cows and sheep who were living in the anointing fields. Tracy and Adrian made us feel so welcome and gave us lots of advice on where to visit and eat out. The property was located in easy access to many walks and local attractions. We would recommend this property to family and friends!

  • "We were met with a very warm welcome from Aid and Tracy."

The cottage including the kitchen has everything you will need for your stay. The bed was so comfy!. They left us some of their free range eggs with the yellowest of yolks, local milk and honey which was very thoughtful. The views of the countryside from the sofa with the doors open wide listening to the mooing of the cows was so relaxing. We walked our dog Bella down to Culmstock weir and the local pub. I would highly recommend this cottage in a beautiful part of Devon.

  • "I booked Piglet Corner for a solo trip to Devon and for a few days of rest and renewal."

It was just perfect. I took some creative work with me and found a few hours each day to put my mind to this without any interruptions. The garden also provides a space to enjoy the views, read, write and smile at the sound of the ewes with their lambs and the occasional call of the cockerel. The local pub was a 10 minute walk from the property and the food was excellent. Tracey and Ade were on hand if I needed anything which was reassuring but in no way intrusive. The location is a short drive from the motorway, easy reach of both coasts, as well as the towns of Wellington, Cullompton and Honiton. I feel refreshed and re-energised and will no doubt return to explore more of this beautiful part of Devon. A "go to" place for well-being and relaxation whether you travel alone or take someone with you. Thank you.

Roomier than expected and I loved the view of the chickens outside. The owner (and dogs) were friendly and welcoming but not intrusive. Village pub and stores both recommended! TV could only be watched via streaming services but they are so comprehensive that this wasn't a problem for me.

CULMSTOCK

Wellington 6 miles; Tiverton 11 miles; Taunton 13 miles.

Culmstock is a small picturesque Devon village nestled on the edge of the Blackdown Hills, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The River Culme glides gently through the village under the old narrow stone bridge giving a feeling of tranquillity to Culmstock. The village has a pub, a deli shop with a café, a garage. All Saints church dating back to the 12th century is built on a slope near the river and has a 200 year old yew tree growing out of the tower, which means it requires watering regularly by pouring water from the top of the tower. There are some fabulous walks from the village, and from nearby Culmstock Beacon there are magnificent views of the Culme Valley. The charm of the area around the Blackdown Hills is partly retained by the sparsely populated landscape and pretty villages relying significantly on farming. From Culmstock, the rolling hills of Exmoor are a short drive away providing opportunities for horse riding, fishing and bird watching. Being midway between the North and South Devon coasts, Culmstock is an ideal base to explore all aspects of Devon’s natural beauty. There are some excellent attractions in the area including Knighthayes Court owned by the National Trust. And the attractive small Somerset market town of Wellington is less than ten minutes drive, with attractive buildings and unusual shops. There is plenty to keep the whole family occupied when staying in Culmstock.
