Dove Cottage

Dove cottage set in a tranquil location.

Wonderful welcome treats on arrival. The property owners were Mark & Cath … Mark popped over to give us a warm welcome. Cottage is ideally based to various attractions & beaches (especially for dog owners).

Lovely and comfy and very peaceful.

We didn't need to venture far a field as everything we needed to refresh and restore us was right there. Thank you

We were greeted by Mark the owner with a very warm welcome.

We bought our dog with us , he had his own welcome pack as well as bread ,milk, eggs and cakes for us . Mark gave us a tour of the outside space and garden where we could walk Dougie and enjoy the lovely views. Dove cottage was very comfortable ,cosy and well equipped ,the bedroom was a generous size ,the bed was very comfortable. There was lots of information in a folder about staying at the cottage and interesting places to visit in the local area. Mark and his wife lived in the main house on hand if we had any questions. We enjoyed our stay and would return for another holiday . Alex,Debra and Dougie.

We had a wonderful couple of nights at Dove cottage.

clean cosy and greeted with bread, eggs and cakes which was a lovely touch. enjoyed our stay and would heartily recommend to anyone. Pete & June the Cotswolds

"We had an absolutely wonderful and peaceful stay at Dove Cottage!

Emma and I and our Springer Spaniel Hudson, were looking for a quiet getaway, and Dove Cottage delivered on every front. The cottage itself was lovely and quiet and extremely comfortable, surrounded by beautiful scenery. Having convenient parking right next to the front door made packing and unpacking effortless—especially with a dog! Hosts Mark and Cath were amazing; nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a relaxing break in a fantastic setting!" We will be returning!

On arrival the cottage was stocked with milk and biscuits, fresh eggs and more.

1x Fire word was provided for the fire place and clear instructions were provided for the duration of the stay. The cottage provided privacy, quiet, and a very nice and clean cottage to stay in. Which when travelling solo with a child and small dog is priceless. The welcome instantly put me at ease and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We ate out at the recommended places and were mot disappointed. This was a 10/10 stay

The cottage was absolutely wonderful.

It was immaculately clean and very well stocked. The provision of essential groceries on arrival was a lovely thought. The hosts could not have been more helpful. Parking was right outside the cottage and the location was excellent for visiting both North and South Devon. The dog was also made to feel welcome and having him with us made our holiday. Overall an excellent stay wish we had booked two weeks instead of one. We will definitely be returning.

What a lovely location, just off the main B3137 to South Molton.

Very quiet and peaceful. The holiday cottage was very clean and pleasant, the owner provided some basic essentials (bread, milk, eggs and even some treats for the dog). Very dog friendly with access to a field behind the farm house to exercise the dog each morning and evening. Highly recommended.

Wonderful hosts, the best we have had the pleasure of meeting.

The welcome gifts were very much appreciated. The cottage is set in beautiful surroundings, lovely walking around the garden. The cottage is immaculate. The bed was very comfortable with lovely bedding. Great National Trust Houses and Gardens to visit. Would recommend staying here.

Accomodation has everything you need and more, very clean and comfortable.

Great location, lovely and peaceful.

We were greeted by our host at the door and shown all the important points about the cottage and presented with a welcome gift of bread, milk, eggs plus tea, coffee, and biscuits.

The cottage was fresh and clean and well maintained to a high standard. Despite the terrible weather we've had of late the area around the property was very well maintained. There is a large field for the dogs to run around at the rear of the owners premises its Un fenced but hedgerows should prevent anything but the most determined of dogs from wondering off, South Molton is just a few miles away and offered a number of pubs and eateries, although many were only open at random dates and times as we visited early in the season (March) really enjoyed our stay and look forward to a return visit later in the year.

What a wonderful house in a beautiful location perfect for a quiet stay but within easy reach of wonderful places to visit.

Very friendly owner he meet use when we arrived with a wonderful loaf of bread milk fruit juice and other essentials even a bag off treats for our dog. We will be recommending this to our friends and family and hopefully will be going back soon. Thanks Ian & Jane. Ps she especially loved the open fire.

Fabulous little cottage in a tranquil setting.

Ideal for our 2 dogs with a large safe field next to the cottage. A very thoughtful welcome pack and dog treats plus dog blankets. Mark was very accommodating with advice and replenishment of logs. Ideal to explore N Devon and please, have a drink in the Poltimore Arms for a trip back in time

Wow a great little cottage very clean and cosy and the owners are such great friendly couple Mark came and helped us get used to the oven it was easy after that lol also the welcome you get is so good, we both thank you very much for making our Christmas break even better, as for the location it could not have been any better we will be going back later in the year again thank you both very much from Jen and Alan Benson x

Lovely barn conversion which lived up to the praise from previous guests.

Mark and Cath were very attentive owners who we enjoyed meeting and whose hospitality went far beyond normally expected. Thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Wonderful stay at Dove Cottage, perfect base for exploring north Devon, clean, comfortable, warm and welcoming.

A beautiful cottage in a quiet and idyllic location.

Spotlessly clean and well equipped for all your needs. Perfectly situated for visiting this part of Devon or just relaxing and getting away from it all. Excellent hosts for this property. Lovely dog walking area too. Will definitely be returning!

We were welcomed by Mark the owner and handed the keys.

Everything was explained to us. We had a welcome pack of bread milk biscuits and even treats for our Dog. Mark and Cath were excellent hosts and we Highly recommend Dove Cottage. Would definitely stay again.

The owners of the property are quite simply, lovely people.

They will go out of their way to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. The property is situated in a picturesque and quiet area, with lovely walks. With a very comfortable bed, log fire, storage and the generous welcome pack that awaits you, I’d recommend anyone to stay here.

This cottage was delightful.

It was smaller than we thought but plenty big enough of the two of us and the dogs. We had everything we needed and the owners were on hand to help if needed. We had everything we needed for the duration of our stay. A loaf of bread, milk, some biscuits and chocolate was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend a stay there.

Excellent hosts, fresh eggs, bread, biscuits etc very kind and helpful.

We loved the accommodation, great for a couple. We recommend a simple porch would take wet muddy clothes from walks, also its good to clean dogs and leave towels etc. This would ease pressure on the living space.

We had a very warm and friendly welcome from the owner on arrival.

Very cosy and comfortable cottage. Everything we needed for our week stay. Lovely walking from the cottage. Would recommend to anyone needing a relaxing stay in the country.

From the day we arrived to the day we left it was an all round great stay, its a lovely little cottage and they have provided all the convenience you will need from a toaster to a dish washer, the log burner made a welcome return from out adventures on Exmoor, I would happily stay here again, we have two spaniels and they loved the quite large field adjacent to the farm house, if I had anything to add it would be a stair gate would be a useful addition, as nobody wants dogs upstairs, so I had to put my cases at the bottom to stop them venturing up to the bedroom.

It worked but a gate would have made things a little easier. All in all I'm sure I will go again, I'll bring my stair gate next time. Thanks for making the effort to make our stay great.

Lovely accommodation and very friendly hosts always ready to help with advice during our stay.

Quiet rural setting with walks on the property. The perfect holiday to fully relax. Many thanks Mark and Cath. Will certainly be returning.

Just had an amazing stay at Dove cottage.

Thanks to the owners Cath & Mark for being wonderful hosts, they were really friendly and gave great recommendations for places to visit. The cottage was cosy and well equipped and the fresh eggs, milk, bread etc on arrival were a lovely touch. I’m looking forward to my next visit!!

Lovely place plenty of places to explore.

Owners are very friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed our stay highly recommended

We booked Dove cottage

Very nice cottage, comfortable and well furnished with all amenities.

Bed is more suitable for a couple but 2 friends used to share close quarters is fine too. Quiet situation: the bird singing in the morning and evening is a delight. The walk up and down to South Molton (3.5 km) is easy on a quiet country road with slow climbing and descending. Owners very friendly, welcoming and discreet. (2 people, May 2025)

The cottage was very well appointed, clean and comfortable.

The area surrounding the cottage was safe for our dog to play in off lead. Plenty of gorgeous beaches with 30 minutes travel time. Great village with a market twice a week, pack your wallet. Mark and Cath the owners were the most excellent hosts I will strongly recommend this location.

Wonderful cottage, so quiet, hope to return sometime

Lovely little cottage.

Compact and bijou, but with everything needed. Owners were very friendly and even provided, biscuits and eggs as a really appreciated welcoming gesture. Nice to have dog walking field right next to the cottage. Good spot on the edge of Exmoor, a drive to the coast (40-50mins) but so worth it. Unparalleled coastal scenery (highest cliffs in Britain). We'll be back.

The cottage was cosy, comfortable and warm.

We loved the field that was available for our dog to walk around. The owners were very welcoming and left a lovely welcome package. There was also a useful guide for places of interest and places our dog would be welcome. Although the weather was wet, there was a washing machine oland tumble drier available to keep the dog towels going! We has a lovely calming break and there were places nearby to charge our electric car.

Last minute booking, had a great time and the cottage was everything we could ask for, with a lovely setting and plenty of places to take our dog Cali for walks.

Could not fault it.

Lovely place.

Lovely owners. One suggestion which I did mention in person would be to have a stair gate available if dogs are not to be allowed upstairs. A small note in the listing about this would also be appreciated, not every dog is a stay downstairs kinda dog!

Beautiful, clean and comfortable cottage.

Welcome pack of milk, bread, eggs etc was provided. We had access to a field for dog walks. The owners were friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend Dove cottage it is also in a very beautiful part of Devon.

Beautiful cozy cottage and welcoming hosts who went the extra mile with some thoughtful extras.

Loved our stay here.

Relaxing, comfortable and quite place to stay.

Clean and everything it says in description.

Lovely cottage that had everything we needed, bed was very comfortable.

The location is perfect for a relaxing break with very well kept grounds, our dog really enjoyed his morning and evening runs around the owners adjacent field. Lots to do close by with stunning scenery, South Molton is a short drive away with a Sainsbury’s and a great little market Thursdays and Saturdays. We’d have no hesitation recommending as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

a delightful find top marks for every aspect of our holiday.

This cottage lived up to our expectations and beyond. From the excellent welcome pack to the the friendly hosts I cannot recommend this place enough. The grounds were a joy to walk well kept but allowed to grow to support wild life in some areas. The cottage was very comfortable spotlessly clean and provided everything we needed even down to treats for Hector !

Kath and Mark are great hosts, there when needed and not at all intrusive.

Cottage was exactly as advertised.

From the start it made all the difference to enter a wonderfully clean property with an amazing welcome pack of bread, jam, scones, milk, eggs and more and also some treats for Fern our dog.

Fantastic location to go out and explore North Devon as well with a local Sainsburys (open til 8 weekdays) if you needed anything else. Cath and Mark popped over initially to say hi and bye when we left, fantastic property, only problem if it was a problem was we didn’t discover the WiFi til the last night as you have to press the on button on the WiFi adaptor and hold it fir a few seconds, but games there to play if you want (don’t go the butterfly jigsaw if there fir a few days unless you are an expert)

Had a lovely stay at Dove Cottage, was well located for exploring North Devon .

We cycled the Tarka Trail and visited other places of interest , was so nice coming back to cosy Dove Cottage to enjoy the gardens and peaceful setting . The hosts were really lovely nothing was too much trouble and the home baked scones were delicious ! Would definitely visit again . Thankyou from Derek and Suzy
