It’s a lovely peaceful location and we enjoyed our walks around the area. The property has everything you need and it was very kind of the owner to make us a lemon drizzle cake and home made apple juice, which we enjoyed. We enjoyed our trips to Barrington Court and Haynes Motor Museum and the local village of South Petherton. Had a lovely meal and welcome at the pub in the village The Rose and Crown. Definitely would recommend for a relaxing peaceful place to stay, just one small thing the gate to the property was difficult to open wide to get the car out as it drags across the lane, but it wouldn’t stop us recommending. The setting is perfect, we loved the village location which was ideal for dog walks and enjoyed sitting on the balcony overlooking an orchard. It was very well placed for the visits we wanted to make to Cheddar, Wells , Langport and Somerton. We would definitely stay again when we visit the same area, and would have no hesitation recommending to others.

Our hosts gave us valuable advice about places of interest and where to visit with our dog (Ham Hill being a great example). They had prepared lemon drizzle cake and apple juice for us. If I could improve anything at all it would be to supply milk and tea/coffee. Overall it’s a TEN from Louise, Jeremy and Buddy!

Great location, quiet and private. Accommodation was clean spacious, warm and comfortable, exactly as promised. Good central location for places of interest.Highly recommended. Only thing I’d add is that there might be a need for some anti slip measures on the outside wooden stairs as potential slip hazard when wet. Would definitely revisit this site. Great!

If you want peace and quiet this is for you. Derek was very helpful and welcoming. Comfortable bed and a grest shower, always a bonus! Lovely off road walks which our dog loved, as did we. 5 mins walk to the Rose and Crown which a perfect pub. Welcoming with great food and drinks. Nice 30 min off road walk to South Petherton which is a beautiful village. The Holm is a must for a meal and the Brewers Arms is another lovely pub with a coop just down the hill.

"Cherrywood Barn was an excellent property to stay in - quite spacious for 2 plus our dog, with very clean, modern facilities (eg oven), and a lovely setting behind the owners house surrounded by trees, flowers, and a lovely lawn with the sounds of nature a really soothing and relaxing background."
We felt really welcomed on arrival and was able to use the property as a great base to visit other places, but also lovely for local walks and a couple of evening meals in the local pub. Definitely a place that we will consider going back to

Our only problem was we could not figure how to work the oven and microwave as digital, difficult for older people like us but we had planned to eat out most of the time so not really a problem. We were very lucky with the weather so we're able to make the most of the lovely balcony and peaceful surroundings. Local pub a very short walk away and fantastic Sunday lunch. Owners Catherine and Derek were so nice and the Lemon cake and Apple Juice were so nice to have on arrival. Only thing we feel that could have improved our stay would be to have access to a couple of relaxing garden chairs to enjoy the garden. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

This property is outstanding ! Extremely well built, tastefully decorated, comfortably furnished and equipped with everything you need. The bathroom is perfectly set out and the bedroom has lots of space and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space for 2. Having the covered balcony is a nice touch, offering somewhere tranquil to sit on a warm evening and enjoy a glass of whatever you fancy. The Lemon Drizzle cake and Apple Juice were greatly appreciated too ! It was great choice for a base for our excursions, within walking distance of the local pub for evening meals and a drink. We would recommend Cherrywood Barn to any couple looking for a friendly retreat.

Catherine and Derek were very welcoming. There was a delicious cake and their own apple juice to enjoy whilst relaxing on the balcony. The barn itself was spacious, modern and clean with quality bedding, as was everything else provided. There are nice walks from Cherrywood Barn itself, particularly to South Petherton that is just right for a circular walk as there are cafes to break the journey and a baker selling locally made bread. The nursery and garden at East Lambrook is a must for plant lovers. We have a further two weeks booked later on in the summer and can’t wait to go again.

We enjoyed sitting on the veranda having a cuppa watching all the wildlife. Owner met us at the bottom of the lane as we arrived much later than expected. We used the cottage as a base to work from and to adventure around Somerset, Devon and Dorset. After long walks and sea air it was nice to come back to the cottage, to sit on the veranda, drink some home made apple juice and cider, eat some home made lemon drizzle cake whilst watching the sunset over the apple orchard. We never wanted to leave.

The bed was comfortable, the shower was powerful & large & the kitchen was well equipped. In the very pretty village of East Lambrook, about a mile from South Petherton, is this newly converted, detached, stone built barn.
Arranged on the first floor to make the very most of the lovely rural views, Cherrywood Barn is thoroughly stylish and beautifully finished throughout.
Accessed via a wooden staircase, to the front of the barn a large balcony with table and chairs offers the perfect spot to sit and take in views of the neighbouring orchard where an abundance of wildlife including owls, deer, badgers and pheasant may be seen.
The living space is open plan with striking beams, hard floors and velux windows to bring in the light; making this a bright and airy space.
The kitchen area is well fitted with everything you'll need to enjoy a delicious meal before retiring to the boutique style bedroom with kingsize bed and en-suite shower.
If you feel like eating out, try contemporary restaurant HOLM.
Whether you're driving, cycling or walking, East Lambrook provides an ideal base for a holiday, with a variety of interesting and fun days out nearby.
Forde Abbey Gardens, Barrington Court, Montacute House, Tintinhull Gardens, Lytes Cary, The Haynes Motor Museum, Fleet Air Arm Museum are all within easy distance.

Crewkerne 5 miles.
The small, attractive town of South Petherton is surrounded by South Somerset's glorious countryside, with the town's central conservation area boasting a wealth of lovely hamstone buildings, oozing quiet, timeless charm, and with local inns serving good food, real ales and Somerset ciders. There are numerous National Trust properties and places of interest to visit nearby, including Lambrooke Gardens, Elizabethan Montecute House, and the Medieval Monastery at Forde Abbey. Within a short drive can be found the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton, as well as Haynes Motor Museum, explore mystical Glastonbury, or marvel at Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole Caves. Alternatively, take a day trip to majestic Bath, or Dorset's Jurassic Coast at Lyme Regis. This is a great holiday base from which to explore this lovely part of the country.
