  • "The flat was very clean and well equipped and presented, with a welcome bowl of coffee and tea bags and a Madeira cake."

Unfortunately however, and there doesn’t appear to be mention of this in the property listing, it is located extremely close to a road and, while I appreciate it is no fault of the property owner, the speed limit of 30 mph is largely ignored, particularly, or rather most noticeably at nighttime. I ended up purchasing earplugs and sleeping tablets which helped a little but far from perfect or allowing for a relaxed stay. I was very happy to leave. Also, getting out onto the road proved difficult too, particularly as visibility in one direction was far from perfect. I must emphasise that the interior of the flat was very good but unless you are happy sleeping next to a noisy road, it’s not a property I would recommend for a stay.

Dear Ms Meredith, I appreciate you review. Yes, the property is near the main road. Usually at night time it is quiet. If there was in the time you stayed, more traffic at night, I am very sorry. The cottage has double glazing. How fast people drive is not in my power. I keep the hedge as down as possible, so you have a good overview on both sides if you drive out. I drive out there since 20 years and had never a problem. Kind regards Ute Property Owner
