  • "The property is lovely and has everything needed in the house, however the shower ruined my stay."

It was slow and no pressure which was annoying if you wanted a quick wash and go. The living room door could also do with a blind as privacy is compromised. Good cottage but few changes needed to improve stay. Maybe suggest changing the bath taps to mixer shower if not a new power shower.

Odd that the shower "ruined" your stay - we've not had a similar comment in all the years of renting the cottage. It's not power shower but it does work, contrary to your initial call to say it's not working at all . With regard to the front door, we're not sure how privacy is compromised as it just looks over the private courtyard garden and not onto the road ? Property Owner

The fact we keep going back speaks for itself. It’s peaceful, clean and comfortable and has everything we need.

  • "Nice comfortable cottage."

Had everything we needed for a relaxing break. Be aware, bathroom is downstairs. Path very slippy near gate when wet, probably needs a jet wash but we did get a 'wet weather' forecast during our week. Lovely friendly pub opposite and nice walking area too. Plenty to do and explore, a week wasn't long enough.

  • "We loved the cottage, perfect for a couple."

Clean and tidy, nice courtyard to sit out at night, pub across the road. Good situation for the Quantocks, Taunton and the coast is a little further away. One small gripe, please supply an iron, board and clothes airer.

  • "Boo Cottage is really pretty, plenty of room for three people and opposite a pub that does excellent food!"

My only criticism would be that we needed more bath towels and the shower needs replacing with a power shower. Other than that it was just lovely and the little garden is a real sun trap. We had a really relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings. I would definitely use the cottage again if I was staying in the area.

  • "Just spent a week at Boo cottage and had a great time."

The cottage was exactly as shown on the website. It was very clean and comfortable. The village was lovely and quiet and peaceful. As others have noted the cottage is virtually opposite the village pub but there was no intrusive noise. It was a quiet, relaxing break in a lovely part of the country. Just what we wanted.

Thanks, Lisa for taking the trouble to leave such nice feedback . Pleased you had an enjoyable stay Andrew Owner Property Owner

  • "This was my second stay at Boo cottage- loved it !"

So well equipped, clean, bright cosy. Family member stayed with this time and she struggled with bathroom stating (for her) hand rails in the bath would have made her stay easier. Lovely log burner perfect for sitting near with a glass of vino! A fantastic pub opposite literally a minutes walk. Great landlords, friendly, great pub food and lovely big open fire- perfect would highly recommend. Will definitely stay again ! Thanks

  • "Lovely cottage, bright, clean and had many little touches to make a very enjoyable experience!"

Would highly recommend this cottage to others and will book again! Thank you! Additional, tried to book an other cottage with Sykes duriong my stay at boo Cottage - email received back same day from Sykes stating due to late request would speak to owner and get back to me . Sykes did not get back to me (even to advose if they could not cpntact the owner). Disappointed - so mixed feedback about Sykes and my experience, so looked at other cottage companies to book a cottage and thank fully was able to locate somewhere .

  • "We had the most super week at Boo cottage - it really is a little gem!"

The courtyard garden was just ideal - the whole cottage was really clean and comfortable - the beds were comfortable, the lounge was ideal. There was everything you could need there! The pub over the road was lovely and it was really quiet - even with the windows open in the lovely weather, we never heard any noise at all from the pub or anywhere! It is in an ideal location for visiting lots of lovely areas nearby - we ventured down to the fossil coast - along to Dunster Castle and up to Cheddar Gorge - all within easy reach! I think it would be a great place to stay at any time of year and we may well pay a return visit in the future.

  • "An extractor fan in the bathroom would be a help."

The outdoor temperature for our stay was around 18 to 20 degrees. It proved difficult to air the bathroom as the heating was not scheduled to come on (there were no instructions about the heating so we assume it is pre-set). The bathroom is downstairs and the window opens into next door's yard, but in any case the overall temperature was too cool to drive away the damp feeling. This is not a major grumble, but it could be eased without too much trouble. The cottage is very snug and in a very attractive and convenient location. We had a very enjoyable holiday and we will certainly consider using Sykes again, and possibly coming back to Boo Cottage.

Thanks very much for the comments - the bathroom ventilation / heating is something we have been monitoring and has been ok during the summer time but a ventilator and wall heater are now being installed so that should alleviate the problem. Heating is pre-set via a NEST system which sits on the dining room table but the thermostat can be adjusted easily by turning the dial to the required level. Hopefully you will be tempted to make a return to Boo Cottage. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage, and welcoming pub opposite."

Presented in clean condition and adequately equipped. Just a few very minor suggestions: A non-slip mat for the bath would be useful. Can-opener could do with replacing. Couple of tea trays would also be useful.

We're pleased you liked the cottage and the pub . Many thanks for the suggestions; a non-slip mat and tea trays have now been purchased. The can opener seems fine but perhaps there's a knack to it? Property Owner
