  • "We have just returned from a short bank holiday break with our small dog Patch, the hideaway was a lovely private space for us all to relax!"

The Property has everything you need for a relaxed, self contained stay. There was a wonderful welcome pack with cakes and fresh bread very kind and the apple juice was lovely! Patch had a bone, towel and blanket waiting that was a lovely touch! The hot tub was perfect, took us a little while to get the hang of it but we thoroughly enjoyed it and the fluffy robes were perfect after we dried off... love the touch of the hanger in the tree

Lovely little garden area for my dog. Quiet and peaceful ideal for a retreat from the busy world.

  • "We had a lovely new years break, weather was awful but we made the most of visiting the local towns and beaches."

The outdoor solar light wasn't working, but Jane kindly dropped us off some new ones thank you! The only recommendation would be a drying rack for our clothes and towels, as we had alot of wet items from using the hot tub and all the rain, apart from that everything we needed, many thanks

  • "Cottage was not as clean as it should have bern."

Garden had dogs poo in it from previous people. The garden had no light as the light was broken so a hazzard as ot was pitch black. The hot tub cover and area was full of rotten apples from the tree and had not been cleared. The lounge doors leading to the garden and exit was in a poor state and you had to really push to open and same to close it, the door had dropped but had not been put right. Areas in the cottage had not been cleaned and was dirty. We left early and not staying the full time we had paid for. And did Sykes care? Not at all and had the cheek to give us a £25 voucher to use in the future. Like we would ever use Sykes again!!

Hi. I was very upset when Sykes called to say why you had left. You didn’t speak to me to give me a chance to sort anything out. The garden has solar lights which have been fine all summer but now are obviously no good because of darker night. So I’ve now put in more lights thank you for telling me. I’ve never had complaints of cleaning in there before I’ll speak to the cleaner. the place is new so the doors have obviously dropped so I’ll get them sorted. I had the gardener booked in to put some shingle down in the garden the weekend after you left where its starting to get muddy so have got her to cut back the apple tree. I could have got that done while you were staying if you had asked. If things go wrong I always do my best to sort them out when people tell me so I was very sad that I didn’t have that chance with you and I’m so sorry you were not happy. Property Owner

  • "Cozy little cottage adjoining the owners' farmhouse and hidden away from other cottages in the pretty courtyard of converted barns on this 400 year old farm."

The owners have thought of everything, a well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, powerful shower, fresh bread, cakes, cider, apple juice, farm fresh milk and best of all the wood fired hot tub (the pond as we renamed it). There is nothing quite like relaxing in a steamy tub looking up at the stars. Great location for exploring Somerset too. Just a short drive to Brean or Burnham on Sea with their huge beaches and typical British seaside fun. A short drive inland to the Mendip Hills, Somerset Levels and dreamy Glastonbury. Lots of lovely small towns and villages to explore. Farm shops and cider farms at regular intervals with their delicious produce and to top it off some of the most welcoming and friendly people we have ever met on our travels. We will return soon. For a delicious breakfast very nearby Ollie's Cafe on Bristol Road in Brent Knoll is well worth a visit.

  • "This was our first visit to The Hideaway and it is possibly the best holiday property we've ever booked."

It certainly is hidden away and is very quiet & private located within a small but beautiful period walled garden. We had 2 dogs who absolutely loved it, plus the garden is completely enclosed & safe which removes our usual worries. The cottage is located within the owner's farm & property and is a brilliant & lovely setting for a peaceful break. Jane's dog became my friend and was always quietly waiting for my next appearance with a treat! It is a fantastic place to stay and we will be back again sometime next year. Thoroughly recommended. Very comfy with lovely furnishings and bedding. Hot tub great but takes time to fire up. (2-3 hours) Great when going though. 2 tiny things. 2 extra large wine glasses and water glasses as only 2 of each and a garden chair or bench to relax on. Had perfect stay. Thank you.

Particularly worthy of mention was the welcome pack hamper consisting of local produce from fresh bread to jams and even a local supplied bottle of cider. Will definately return here again, everything has been thought of even down to superb garden hot tub.

When we arrived the cottage was spotless and had a nice welcome basket of goodies for us and our two dogs. The bed and bedding are very comfortable, with all new fixtures and fittings throughout. The Hideaways garden is very secure meaning you can let the dogs roam outside without worrying that they will escape. A welcome addition is the Hot Tub to relax after a busy day exploring the area. Nicely situated for the local beaches with Cheddar Gorge only 20 minutes away. Jane who is very friendly lives on site, so any problems she is there for you.

  • "Property was wonderful."

Everything you needed was there including Dressing gowns, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid... everything, including a wonderful Welcome pack of Bread, butter, jam, bottle of Cider, bottle apple juice & cakes. Property was clean & tidy. We enjoyed the Hot Tub, but next time we go we would take our own wood from a local source as we had to buy from a garage & that seem very expensive as a bag per use of the Hot tub. The whole set up was lovely, well worth booking & very private. Enclosed garden for the dog was also great.
