  • "Excellent accommodation owner was very helpful."

    This is our second time we’ve been here and again was excellent. Would recommend this accommodation absolutely excellent and a great location right by the lake, wildlife and abundance. Small issue last year there was an EV charger on site. It seems that they’ve took that away. This was situated by reception at the golf course again went down there could not find one.

  • "Very well equipped lodge, beautiful quiet setting, perfect for walks on the beach and visiting the surrounding area."

    We had a lovely stay, the hosts were great, we had a couple of issues that we had to contact the hosts about. Sadly there were cleaning issues that the hosts were unaware of; but measures have been put in place to prevent any problems going forward. Having said this we had a great stay.

  • "From the moment you pull up at the accomodation it was beautiful."

    Property is positioned right on the lake, where you can sit out on the balcony and admire the view. The flat walk around the park was ideal for my little one to practice riding a bike. The properties are quite far apart from eachother, which meant we had a lovely grass bit next to us (not enclosed), which the dogs loved running around on a long lead. When walking into the property it was cosy, clean and fresh. It was a great size with plenty of room, had a large fridge and freezer, washing machine and a dishwasher. The beds were very comfy, the master bedroom had ample of space. It was great we had two bathrooms one with a shower and the other with a good size bath (with a removal shower head). . There was even a tap outside to clean our sand shoes! The hosts provided a couple of games incase of a rainy day All in all a fantastic break which was peaceful and relaxing! We will definitely be returning. Hosts were great and wished us a lovely holiday! Thank you ❤️

  • "Summerdown was a wonderful retreat that offered relaxation, yet encompassed a home from home experience."

    It was exactly what my family needed. It was so well equipped and yet it offered a sense of comfort and tranquility that catered for all needs. I have two children on the autistic spectrum who have difficulty settling and coping in new environments. Summerdown offered the quiet space that they needed and homely feel in a tourist spot that can be overwhelming, we had a fabulous time that catered for my family’s needs, it took the stress away that usually is involved with a holiday. I would definitely recommend summerdown it was wonderful, thank you x

  • "Excellent property nice and clean lovely views great wildlife every morning, would recommend this property to family and friends very dog friendly."

    My Wife was took ill so could not travel down over the weekend so we arrived on the Monday informed the owner was very helpful. All the information I needed to get there and to get the keys was perfect - 6 star accommodation Thank you

    Unity Beach have changed their location map so No. 9 is shown as No. 47 on their map. We wasted 1 1/2 hours trying to locate the lodge.

  • "Summerdown was the perfect accommodation for my elderly parents and ourselves."

    Just 3 steps with a handrail up to the very well presented lodge on the edge of the lake. Spotlessly clean inside and very well appointed. Outdoor furniture was very comfortable. Area was very quiet and the whole site was exceptionally well maintained. Owners were very responsive to questions raised in advance. A wonderful relaxing time had by all.

  • "The location is lovely its quiet next to lake We was only there for two nights."

    Just to relax and I have a elderly dog who loved just watching from the ducks . The only slight minus was we ran out of Toilet Tissue But apart from that we loved it.

  • "The lodge is well cared for and has everything you need and more."

    Quiet location and grounds well kept. Communication with the owner was clear and provided codes and location of local shops etc. Very good stay for a rest and the local National Trust beach was great to walk the dog. Great find and pleased to recommend it to anyone who enjoys a rest!

Summerdown is a contemporary, single-storey lodge settled amid rolling countryside in Brean Country Club, beside a serene lake in Somerset.

This impressive home rests near a beach and adventurous attractions, ideal for a family of four seeking a blend of county and coast.

Leave your vehicle in an off-road parking space before climbing a handful of steps to reach a wraparound decking, where you can savour the sun for most of the day, particularly the stunning Somerset sunsets.

Step inside to find the open-plan living space, with French doors letting in natural light and a wall-mounted TV where you can watch family favourites, as you unwind on the corner sofa.

Conjure mouth-watering dishes in the kitchen area, with an electric oven and gas hob to assist you and after a day at the beach make use of the washing machine to get rid of the sand.

Enjoy meals together at the dining table or throw open the French doors for an alfresco affair on the furniture with a backdrop of natural beauty to admire.

As the day draws to dusk, retire inside and choose between a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower and adjoining dressing room, or the twin room with a TV for late-night entertainment.

The pretty village of Bream offers magnificent views of the Royal Forest of Dean to the Cotswold Hills beyond. Clearwell with its ancient caves and eerie caverns and the village of St Briavels with its castle are also close by. The magnificent Royal Forest of Dean, England's largest oak forest, offers numerous trails that can be explored on foot, cycle or horseback. Caving, abseiling and a high wire rope course are for the more adventurous, whilst fishing, golf, kayaking and canoeing are other popular activities in this unspoilt area. Just a short drive away is the historic market town of Ross-on-Wye, with timbered Tudor houses, excellent shops, pubs and restaurants all in the heart of rural Herefordshire. This unspoilt area has something to offer all tastes at any time of the year.
