The Stables

It was a perfect holiday.

It’s a shame we only booked 4 nights. It rained all the time but accommodation had all the facilities to keep us entertained. Had 2 toddlers with us. They enjoyed waking up to the sounds made by farm animals and meeting them every single day we stayed there. There were some cobwebs in the backyard which needs bit of cleaning. I hope owner will handle that going forwards but apart from that they provided all the toiletries, bread, eggs, tea, coffee and lots of books and games which was thoughtful and different from usual B&Bs we’ve been to. Property is well maintained, clean and photogenic. Would definitely visit again. Thanks for providing wonderful experience.

Fabulous stay at no.

2 the stables, the property was spacious clean and comfortable with everything we could need as a family of 5. Great hosts superb location would highly recommend to anyone visiting Somerset

The accommodation was superb and had everything to make a great holiday.

Very clean and comfy. We really enjoyed our stay and would 100% return. Location wise it was good with it being a good base to travel to all the main locations in Somerset. Highlight was the cider farm nearby which had great ciders and fantastic food.

Beautiful cottage, very new and bright.

All amenities available. We had a lovely three generational stay. Great for baby as all necessary items available. Lots of animals and lovely grassy area to use. A very picky criticism is that the mattresses weren’t very comfortable especially the one in the main ensuite room. Otherwise no complaints at all ! Thank you for a wonderful stay , a real home from home.

The accommodation was 5*, a home from home. The welcome goodies, along with all the thoughtful items available to use, made such a difference. Loved waking to the sounds of the animals. Such a peaceful area. Will definitely return if looking to holiday in the area again. Highly recommended

2- The Stables. The property is modern and spotlessly clean, well equipped without feeling cluttered. The rooms feel very spacious, a large kitchen/diner and big bedrooms, 2 bathrooms plus a downstairs loo. The farm dogs & cats were lovely. We stayed during a very hot heatwave in mid-June, and luckily the property stayed relatively cool, certainly much cooler than we would’ve been at home! It’s an easy drive down into Burnham, a busy little seaside town with a beach, amusements, restaurants etc. Our only slight suggestion would be placemats for warm plates (we didn’t find any, although we may have missed them), and something to help open the velux windows without having to balance on a chair or bed. We hope to return next year to see more of Somerset- just hopefully not in a heatwave next time!

Lovely accommodation as always, think this is our 4th time at The Stables, it’s one of our favourite places to stay when we are visiting family.

We have had an amazing week staying at The Stables.

It is clean, welcoming and has everything that you need for a lovely easy stay. We loved being near the farm and seeing the animals. It was very hot whilst staying here, there were fans in each bedroom which we were very grateful for. The kitchen is well equipped with what you need and made eating in easy. There was a lovely seating area outside and we made use of the BBQ too. There is also a lovely area at the front for the children to play and Louise kindly bought out more garden games for our children to play with. We had a lovely stay and would love to visit and stay again.

Peaceful location.

Heating system difficult to control. Thoughtful welcome pack. Walking distance to local pub but via a very busy road with no footpath.

Lovely property, clean, quiet, modern.

The welcome pack was good and unexpected. Close to Burnham on Sea for a day at the seaside. They just need to workout how short people can open the bedroom windows and it would be perfect.

A great stay with my four teenage girls.

We used as our base for hiking, Caving and Rock climbing in Cheddar Gorge and a shopping day in Bristol. Lovely, peaceful and good quality accommodation. Access to supermarket, fast food etc in the nearby seaside town. Would definitely use again if we go to the Southwest again.

The Stables was a delight to stay in as it was spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable.

Although situated on a farm it was easy to access local amenities and places of interest. We also liked the outdoor seating area which was secluded.

It's a lovely place lovely location The only issue we had was when we had a problem with the front door the host wasn't very friendly.

They sorted the door but we felt they were very cold towards us.

Four of us stayed in stable 2 for the week beginning 25/07/2025.

The accommodation is immaculate! The bedrooms were all very comfortable and good sizes, the two bathrooms were very clean and also a great size, the living room had nice seating and a big tv with firestick, we didn’t really use this room as we spent a lot of time sitting in the large kitchen and the enclosed outdoor space to the rear of the property. The kitchen had all modern and excellent quality appliances and the crockery, cutlery and cookware were spotless. Being city dwellers, it was lovely listening to the farm animals, especially hearing the horses neighing! We only had brief conversations with the owners who allowed us to get on with our holiday but we knew Louise was available should we have any concerns but absolutely no problems for us. This is a fantastic place to stay. Thank you to Louise, all the family and the two dogs and the duck!!

I don't usually do reviews but the owners of this property deserve one.

We had a warm welcome on our arrival and an even warmer welcome from the farm dogs; Lottie and Molly (stroke them once and they are friends for life!) The property was exceptionally clean and well maintained with all the facilities and equipment for a great holiday. The location was easy to access in a quiet rural location but close to all of the attractions we wanted to visit. Thank you for our best holiday in years. We hope to return here in the future.

A lovely converted property with outstanding cleanliness.

The owners are extremely helpful, knowledgeable and kind, and couldn't have done more to help us, when one of our party was taken ill. We are sorry we couldn't stay longer in a lovely part of the country, and would recommend The Stables to others.

On arrival, the property is on large plot with beautiful trees and fields as well as an open grass space right by the front door.

Inside the property, it was light and spacious with quality appliances including a washing machine and dishwasher. A coffee pod machine was also a welcome sight. Toys and books were provided in the lounge for children plus a large smart TV as well as a BBQ in the enclosed back garden. All rooms were clean with bedrooms benefiting from skylights and blackout blinds. Beds were comfortable and having three toilets and two bathrooms was great for a small family. The property itself would have made a great holiday but what made it the best was how welcoming the family were to us. Throughout the week, we were treated so kindly by all those that lived on the plot and my oldest daughter particularly, has had the time of her life thanks to the family as well as the animals that she could see and interact with. We all loved it and will be back as soon as we can.

We stayed for 4 nights at end of April 2025. Light and comfortable with modern fixtures and fittings. Kitchen/diner has plenty of space and storage, and excellent appliances. Bedrooms have ample cupboards, good lighting and “Velux” roof windows (fitted with shades) for natural light and fresh air. Bathroom is spacious, en-suite with walk-in shower has twin shower heads, downstairs WC/cloakroom has space for wet/outdoor shoes and plenty of coat hooks. Lounge is roomy, has a good view to front lawn and driveway, with vertical blind to allow privacy, and a huge Smart TV! Wi-Fi is good, and we had reasonably good mobile reception indoors as well. Very high standard of cleanliness all around. Owner Louise is friendly and available on mobile number provided, if needed. Note: A plus for us was the nearby EV InstaVolt charging station at “Aldi” about 3 miles from The Stables. We had a great stay, it’s a good location and we would happily book again.

What a fabulous place!

Great location, very clean and well equipped, everything you need for a short break in the countryside.

The property was delightful with everything provided.

Tea, coffee, biscuits bread along with hot chocolate sachets and small pots of jam. Wonderful clean towels, a comfortable bed and much more. We would return next week if we could.

2 The Stables was exactly as described and expected.

The house is light, bright and airy and despite the cold weather was comfortable and a pleasant place to be. The house was very clean, nicely fitted out and with fantastic en suite and bathroom. The kitchen/diner is a huge space and well equipped with decent white goods. Beds are comfortable and cosy and were beautifully made up for arrival. The towels were soft and fluffy, and the cushions added a nice touch. Big built in wardrobes provided plenty of storage space. The welcome groceries were a lovely touch and gratefully received (and used!) Situated on a working farm, the house is quiet and well placed for touring around Somerset. Thank you!!

It was a lovely surprise to find a downstairs loo in the property which wasn't listed in the description.

My elderly dad really needs one to save him going upstairs all the time, and this very nearly put me off booking this property but as it was only 2 nights I decided to go for it anyway, so this was a major bonus! The property was so clean and well equipped, we had a really enjoyable stay there.

The Stables is a modern luxurious comfortable property that is newly built to a high standard.

It has quality fixtures and fittings plus a much appreciated welcome pack, travel toiletries packs, and an extremely well stocked kitchen. The accommodation is accessible downstairs with a level entrance, wide corridors and for us, the all important downstairs WC. The level accessible shower in the en-suite upstairs plus a bath in the bathroom ticked all our boxes too. I loved the location-it’s on a working farm which is charming and seeing the horses and cows before we left was a bonus-thank you Louise. It worked well for us being near the motorway, close to family in the area, not far from the beaches while having supermarkets nearby as well. But even though everything was on the doorstep, it was so rural and tranquil that we really felt we’d got away from it all too. We hope to return soon.

A beautiful place to stay, much bigger than the photos depict.

Everything you need, and in a location that's easy to explore the area. Within walking and driving distance of local pubs and in an area where you can do some lovely walks. Within easy reach of Cheddar, Wells, Burnham on Sea and a little further afield will get you to Weston-Super-Mare and Minehead which all have beautiful beaches. Hosts were lovely and very helpful.
