Deliciously cool in weather extremes.

Thatch keeps place like a cool room, even when 35 outside. Fairly unsophisticated and compact but completely adequate. Full of massive beams and old world charms. Dog friendly, Farmyard with cats and hens, with fields beyond for dogs to run. Ideal for solo or couples, and also youngish children. Stairs steep and creaky.

Rather expensive.

The bath could do with a shower.

The Dairy was a great location for a relaxed break exploring the local area.

We enjoyed walking in the Quantock hills, traveling on the West Somerset railway and a visit to the coast at Watchet all without once using the car. We would certainly recommend.

We loved staying in this quurky cottage.

The surroundings are magical. Ooening rhe door to sheeo, chcikens, cats was just lovely. The cottage is quirky and interesting, comfortable. The bed was cimfortable and clean freah besding and towela provided. The bath was lovely but i do prefer a shower although a tap adaptar was there for washing hair ect. Owners very approchable. We would love to come again. Kitchen well equiped but plates ecr outdated and probably need updating.

Although we had to leave early due to illness, we would love to go back to The Dairy.

The cottage was lovely and comfortable and the owner, very helpful. we loved all the animals, cats, chickens and goats and the chance to walk the farmland and woods.

2nd time we’ve been here but different cottage, such a lovely, quiet setting, couple of chickens running around, coming to say hello, very comical!

, a ewe and lamb every now and again came past !, fresh eggs available, just ask. Lovely people, great cottages and not far from the coast ( just no hustle and bustle!). Highly recommend!!. Thank you for a relaxing stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Dairy.

The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed. Very small piece of garden with picnic bench available outside which was fine for us. The location was peaceful and surrounded by beautiful countryside. It was great to be able to have access to the farmland. The farm is situated about a 15 minute walk from the village of Bicknoller with access to other places such as Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge, Watchet, Minehead etc via car. Would recommend.

A lovely and warm homely cottage on a working farm.

The cottage had everything we needed. A lot of places to visit within an hour or two, with local food shops /take-away/bakers/ public houses being a couple of miles down the road. You can get eggs from the owners of the cottage, who live next door. The cottage has good internet and has outside space to sit out, if weather is nice.. and to let the dog out, but dogs have to be kept on a leads as it’s working farm, with the chickens, cats and sheep running free. All though there is no washer in the cottage, there is one in a separate area. A lovely cottage in the countryside with friendly helpful owners, we throughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

We had the most wonderful stay at the Dairy.

It was so comfortable and relaxing, very warm with plenty of hot water.The cottage is loaded with character and a fun place to stay.Greeted every morning with very friendly chickens, Mist the sheepdog and the three friendly cats!Exploring the farm grounds we felt like kids from the Famous Five books.There are pigs and Sheep in the grounds.lots of lovely walks abound and the lovely Bicknoller pub is a lovely local.Jackie, Gary and Nancy are perfectly lovely hostesses and we would love to return to this lovely quirky cottage.

Lovely place to stay , friendly hosts .

My only suggestion would be a few more choices of glasses ( bigger wine glasses / gin glasses /pint glasses , Prosecco glasses ) but that wouldn’t stop me returning. I would just bring my own . Very enjoyable stay .

The owners are LOVELY - the fact there is a washing machine on site and chickens and free access to fields and a beautiful nature reserve.

It was incredibly thoughtful that tea, coffee and milk were all left for us on arrival - made us feel very welcome and special. The friendly chickens, cats, sheep and goats really gave a sense of connection to the land and the fact this is still very much a working farm. The kitchen was really well equipped and there was tons of hot water for bathing the kids home from the beach. The outside picnic table was lovely to have sunny breakfast at and the location is very close to lots of wonderful beaches, harbours and whilst still being within very reasonable driving distance of London and the south east. One small thing - it IS a beautiful old stone dairy cottage so the downstairs is very slightly damp, as most old stone buildings have a tendency to be, which was a little bit of an issue for my son's asthma - solved by airing with windows opened regularly - no problem really in summer, with sunshine and when you are out for most of the day. The sofa, chairs and beds were all extremely comfy, the WiFi was WAY better than I had expected it to be - I could comfortably work while there, and its homely and in keeping with this truly beautiful cottage. Thank you so much - I strongly suspect we will return....

The property is not actually detached - its the end of the hosts home.

There were many maintenance issues at the property that need attention to bring it up to modern standards. The internal floors were dirty and needed a steam mop. The lamp shades were so old they are brittle and breaking into pieces. The curtains were difficult to pull together and would benefit from polishing and the curtain pole above the door is broken and falls off when pulled on. We did not use the cooker as the fixing in the wall does not look safe to use with exposed wires . There is a plug socket in the dining room that needs finishing off as it has exposed wires. This could be dangerous for a child.There are holes in the bathroom that need filing and are currently filled with kitchen roll. The other side of the bed in the main bedroom does not have a lamp so its hard for the person at the right hand side to get up in night. The kitchen is tired and dated and knobs come off when the doors are opened. The wardrobes would benefit from some new coathangers but this is usually the case in most accommodation. The bath would benefit from an actual mixer tap rather than a plastic hose. There is a strong smell of damp in the living room which would benefit from air fresheners or scented diffusers which are great at combating the damp smells that are usual in properties of this age. Unfortunately we found that this property was not up to the modern standards we are used to but we did find the hosts friendly and helpful.

Charming Thatched cottage in beautiful surrounding with green landscapes, The owners are very pleasant, very informative and give you information on the surrounding land borders, walks and animals.

Engaging pets very friendly and have funny antics to watch. We very much enjoyed our time hear and will revisit again very soon.

We were given a warm welcome when we arrived, fantastic cottage and such a scenic place, would love to return soon, honestly could not fault the place and even got a warm welcome from the chickens every morning, thanks for the stay and hope to visit soon

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at the dairy cottage.

We are only sorry we were not able to stay longer. A lovely quiet location surrounded by lovely scenery. The facilities at the cottage were perfect for us. The cottage proved to be good staging point for visiting Exmoor and Dunster. It was also great to meet all of the animals roaming around the yard. Thank you for looking after us and being so helpful when we needed it.

We felt very welcome and we're very comfortable in the cottage. There was plenty of things to do in the area.

The Dairy is in an idyllic location but its appearance is spoilt by the apparent casual dumping of old vehicles, white goods, etc.

within the farmyard. A degree of refurbishment is required within the dairy, particularly the double mattress and the antiquated cooker. Very pleasant and helpful owners.

The property wasn't cleaned to a good enough standard especially when covid is still around !

Only problem we had was no enclosed garden to let the dog into when we went outside.

Had to put him on his lead.

Amazing free range chickens! Facilities adequate. A wonderful time was had by all.

The cottage was dirty with very old appliances.

There was toothpaste all over the sink backsplash. There was dust everywhere. The cooker was something from the 1970s and the bedding and towels were very old and worn.

This cottage has sloping floors downstairs, is fairly dim with small windows, and has a treacherous step between kitchen/diner and sitting areas.

Not unreasonable in a characterful conversion of an old building, but not suitable for anyone unsteady on their feet or with poor eyesight. The cottage is reasonably private (there are 4 units) inside but not outside. Sitting area is frequented by very friendly (pushy) chickens and cockerel. The bath would not accommodate anyone very tall or broad. We found the mattresses and pillows a bit uncomfortable. On the plus side the ambience is charming and traditional, and visitors are free to explore the little farm.

Very enjoyable stay in The Dairy which is full of character and original features.

The furnishings and decor are simple but within keeping with the style and period of the cottage. Beautiful setting and walks from the cottage. Loved the free roaming chickens, cats and lambs.

Good location, easy to get out and about.

Quiet and picturesque farm. Loved the farm chickens and the friendly cats. Accommodation as described, missed a shower though and cooker is slow to warm up. Would recommend this holiday.

Such a charming, cosy and warm cottage in a very pretty rural setting.

We quickly made friends with the yard chickens and farm cats and had an altogether lovely holiday. Perfect for those wishing to escape city/town life.

It would have been good to have been informed about the narrow lane with no passing places leading to the farm beforehand in the write up information.

Plus not streetlights anywhere in the surrounding area. Fortunately we had torches with us that came in very handy. There was no DVD player in the property even though this was in the information write up but it did not course a problem for us but maybe for other people. We really enjoyed the unique old world charm of this rustic cottage. It was like going back to a more simple way of living away from the hustle and bustle of modern times.

A lovely cottage for a week away with the kids and dog.

The kids had a great time playing with other children on the farm and there was dog walking from the front door. The cottage itself was full of charm but some of the facilities were a bit basic but did not impact on our enjoyment. Set in a lovely location and close to near by activities and places to go. Would definitely visit again.

The cottage was quaint and situate with easy access.

There were many places to visit and the cottage was most comfortable to return to after a hot day. Everything lived up to expectation and we particularly liked the daily visit from the rooster and his chickens. They were both friendly and entertaining. Good access on the farm for dog walking.

A place to relax and unwind. It is located close to so many beautiful places to visit. I would definitely recommend a holiday here.

The cottage was a delightful conversion in a quiet location surrounded by superb walks and gorgeous countryside.

The sky was un touched by light pollution, the owners were welcoming and friendly.

There is no shower, which we found we really missed!

Otherwise we had a wonderful holiday in a part of the country that is often overlooked.

The couple who rent out the cottage are lovely, we got snowed in and they were very helpful.

The cottage is in a lovely quiet location, set on a small working farm, nestling between the Brendon and Quantock hills.

Access to these hills is very quick and straight-forward, either by car, bike or walking. The farm has 30 acres of fields and woodland which we were able to use. Chickens provided plenty of eggs too! About 20 minutes drive north is the coast - Watchet or further to the west, Dunster beach.

A wonderful place to stay.

Loved the cottage, having a fantastic Christmas break (very special.) Jackie and Gary (hosts) are very friendly and helpful people and made us feel very much at home. The cottage interior and facilities are fabulous and there are plenty of walking areas on the farm too. I certainly recommend this cottage to all and we certainly (the family) would consider staying again.

We really enjoyed our holiday at the Dairy in Bicknoller.

Situated in a very tranquil location on a working farm, we found it very relaxing and an ideal place to explore Somerset from. The cottage was comfortable and quirky and the owners very friendly and we would definitely go back there again. Al in all a good experience.

We rented The Dairy for one week, it was a lovely cottage on a farm, the kids loved the chickens and cats that roamed outside (and invaded the house).

The farmer's family were friendly and helpful. A very rural area, perfect for kids.
