  • "The cottage had every comfort and facility that we had hoped for - and more."

All fixtures and fittings were of a high standard, the kitchen equipment was exceptional and catered for all cooking requirements. The views from the hot tub were spectacular and the whole garden very private. The cottage was very cosy and warm despite us being there during the 2 days of Storm Bert. We would highly recommend it - particularly for couples.

  • "We enjoyed staying at the Court Lodge very much."

The welcome pack from David is a nice touch. The lodge is extremely spacious. We had great sleeps in the comfy beds and blackout curtain in the rooms. We also enjoyed the hot tub and the fireplace - a fantastic way to spend your November evening.

  • "As there is a hot tub robes would be a good idea."

Sofa needs looking at as it dips one end. A few bits needed in the kitchen - maybe some Cooking oil and some kitchen roll. Other than these minor things the cottage is lovely - just what we needed to recharge our batteries.

  • "Excellent property in the middle of a quiet village, beautiful surroundings with no light pollution, we were able to sit out and see the stars at night."

Very much appreciated the welcome goodies, nothing better than a coffee when you arrive. All four of us would want to come again we had such a lovely time. The sofa is the only thing that wasn’t as comfortable as the rest of the property, not the best for 4 people, but having said that we couldn’t fault the cottage.

A very thoughtful and much appreciated welcome pack was awaiting our arrival. We had a very comfortable relaxing stay in Court Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed several evenings in the hot tub. The abundance of wildlife and absence of noise pollution makes this a perfect place to enjoy nature. We would thoroughly recommend a stay in this delightful cottage.

  • "Wow! Fantastic accommodation, beautiful quiet location, and fabulous weather, we had the most brilliant week staying here."

The Lodge has everything you could possibly need, and all top quality. Even better than the photographs, and it felt like home straight away. A much appreciated welcome pack on arrival (thank you). The guest folders were really easy to refer to. We did quite a few of the walks the owners had suggested, and walked to the Martlet Inn (dog friendly) for a lovely hearty lunch. The Lodge is a great base to explore the area, we went to Bossington and walked to Porlock for lunch at the Ship Inn. Lynmouth/Lynton, Wells, Glastonbury Tor, Dunster Castle (and village), Wellington Monument and Dunkery Beacon all definitely worth visiting, as well as so many other places to walk on the moors and Quantock Hills. Worth noting that the garden is a great size for dogs to run around in, although it isn’t totally dog proof, but the weather was so good that we were out and about most of the time, so didn’t spend a huge amount of time at the Lodge until the evenings. We loved watching the bats at dusk, and had a couple of stunning sunsets, a blood moon, and some clear starry skies … perfect viewing from the hot tub if you turn the outside lights off. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying at the Lodge, and we would definitely book again if returning to the area. One of the best holiday cottages we’ve stayed in.

Thank you for the great feedback. Much appreciate your comments and sharing your experience of local visits Property Owner

Very well presented and appointed accommodation with everything you could need along with a lovely welcome pack and comprehensive guides to equipment. The garden was large and dog friendly, not dog proof. Owner was quick to respond. It's the best accommodation we've stayed in with Sykes.

  • "We’ve just returned from a long weekend at Court Lodge and couldn’t speak more highly of it."

It was the perfect escape in a charming, remote town. The large garden was ideal for our Labrador to run around and explore, with beautiful views of the neighboring fields and grazing cows. The lodge itself was modern, stylish, and spotlessly clean, with a well-equipped kitchen that had everything we needed. The hot tub was a delightful treat after long walks exploring the countryside. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning!

A bit out in the sticks but worth it for tranquil setting amongst rolling hills. Villages with food stores and pubs 15-20 minutes away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend.

  • "We have just returned from a Friday to Friday booking in Court Lodge."

The house is situated in a quiet and tranquil lane a little outside Wiveliscombe which has a small amount of amenities. The house is extremely well planned with plenty of ProCook kitchenware; the owners have thought of absolutely everything (and more!) that you may need. The hot tub is excellent and a lovely way to watch the bats flitting around at dusk. There were plenty of good quality towels and lovely linen supplied and when we arrived the house was absolutely spotless. We had taken our dog with us who is a roving Spaniel; the garden and driveway is secure enough that she wasn't able to escape (although I'm sure she could've done if she'd put her mind to it!). It isn't listed but there is also a BBQ to use which would've been lovely if the weather had been better. If you're looking for a very tranquil week with no disruptions in a 'high end hotel quality' cottage then I can't recommend this enough.

The grounds it sits in are just stunning, so peaceful and relaxing, we would highly recommend a stay here. Some of the lovely places we visited include, Dunster Castle and Gardens, also Minehead Beach and Brean Beach, both allow dogs during the summer season. Thanks again for our wonderful break away, we will definitely be back soon for another spell to relax and unwind.

Modernised to a very high standard with excellent appliances. Location offers wonderful views over the Somerset countryside. Extremely peaceful. Nice hot tub and good off road parking. Location offers good access to several NT properties including Knightshayes and Killerton. Known to Tesco which facilities deliveries. Only 4 star rating because of a number of cleaning issues which I suspect was unusual and will be dealt with by the owner.

  • "Court lodge was a delight to stay in."

The owner went out of his way before we arrived to help make our stay over Christmas perfect and gave us a warm welcome. The guest manual is detailed and very helpful. The views are simply stunning, the closeness to nature inspiring and the inside of the lodge is very comfortable with super bathrooms, and quality furnishings, the kitchen exceptionally well equipped. Watching the migrating birds at sunset from the hot tub, even in December, was memorable. The position is rural but didn’t feel isolated and the fairly short drive to the nearest shops a small price to pay for the tranquility of the lodge’s surroundings. A wonderful world away from the stresses of daily life. Thoroughly recommend.
