I was wary when I realised it was on a working farm and thought it would smell unpleasant but it didn't at all!

Beautiful cottage with a lovely view from the back. Apart from the occasional moo, it was so peaceful, which is just what we wanted!!!

This was our first time to Somerset and we couldn't have picked a better base to explore from!

The cottage was immaculately clean, spacious, well equipped (I easily cooked a roast dinner for the family using what was provided in Leigh Holt!) and the bed sheets were so soft! The games room was a huge hit for us and the three kids (11, 12 and 16) my husband particularly enjoyed using the snooker rests! It was lovely to hear the cows while sitting in the back garden soaking up the evening sunshine! I found the whole setting extremely relaxing and peaceful. Kate was an absolute pleasure to deal with. We explored a few areas while staying at Leigh Holt, that being Bath, Wells and Cheddar Gorge. All easily accessible and brilliant days out! We didn't go to any of the pubs nearby as I cooked in the cottage each evening however upon driving past several, they look lovely too. Thank you so much Kate for an unforgettable UK getaway. We will absolutely be back to continue our Somerset exploring!

As 3 adults we enjoyed a wonderful stay at Leigh Holt.

The property was extremely spacious, comfy and well equipped. Everything was clean and of good quality. The games room is an added benefit which we enjoyed. Tea, coffee, milk and a lovely carrot cake were provided, thank you. We visited Wells, Bristol and Kilver and there were plenty of other options for a longer stay.

cosy, comfortable cottage in an ideal location for visiting many interesting places. A nice addition to the facilities was the games room with its full size snooker table and table tennis. Would have no reservations about recommending this cottage to our friends and family.

It was very well equipped & comfortable. It was close to all the places we wanted to visit & if we came back to this area again, we wouldn’t hesitate to book it again.

A fabulous time was had by all.

The games room was the star of the show and EverPong was invented here. The rules are simple, keep the ball bouncing, no shot is out of bounds, bouncing off walls, the ceiling, the floor, opponents foreheads etc, above all, laugh a lot!! My only criticism of this well equipped, marvelously located cottage is that the beds were not very comfortable. I'm nit picking though as I am used to a tempur mattress at home.

Wonderful Stay at Leigh Holt We had a fantastic time at Leigh Holt!

The house is beautiful, well-equipped, and felt like a true home from home. The location is perfect – peaceful yet close to everything we needed – and we were lucky to have lovely weather throughout our stay. Our host was incredibly attentive and welcoming, and the friendly resident dog was a delightful bonus. A truly relaxing break in a stunning setting.

absolutely loved this cottage and being part of a working farm.

The location is perfect. Sadly, I suffered ill health whilst there but made the most of our stay locally. Being disabled I personally wished that the sofas were higher and longer, and a pull down seat in the en suite so that i could have had a shower, also non slip mats in both showers, but apart from that it is a beautiful bungalow and Alex and Kate could not be more accommodating and Reg!

Reg the dog was particularly welcoming. The house was very well equipped and had everything we needed. We stayed in November but the house itself was very warm and cosy. The only thing we could think of improving would be a small heater in the adjoining games room which was a great addition to the house but was a bit chilly! We would highly recommend Leigh Holt and would definitely stay again if visiting the Somerset area.

No negatives- very comfortable and well-equipped. Lovely host who greeted us and supplied a welcome cake and milk. Just sorry we left our sandwiches in the fridge!!

Ideal base to visit Bath, Glastonbury, Wells and Street shopping village. Good walking nearby in the Mendips and Stourhead (NT) is worth a visit. Cottage very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Plenty of parking space right outside.

The property is impeccably maintained with everything you need for your perfect self catering stay. It was spotlessly clean and the hosts could not have been any more attentive. The cottage was beautifully equipped with everything you would need.

It was comfortable and very clean. The only thing we felt it lacked was some comfortable seats and a table with shade rather than fixed bench seating outside as we were unable to sit outside in comfort to enjoy the weather and utilise that space. We had older guests who were unable to use the benches in comfort. We had therefore to stay inside.

We would Highly recommend Leigh Holt for a most relaxing holiday, the cottage is very comfortable and well equipped and close to all the local towns and attractions.

Amazing place to stay!

Was definitely a home from home and made our holiday better as we knew we were going back to a lovely cottage. Easy to find, not far from anywhere and very peaceful. Games room is a definite added bonus and we had many competitions in the evenings.

Can't fault anything about the stay Firm mattress I'd have preferred soft but can't expect a selection of mattress and definitely slept well The accommodation looks better in person than the online pictures a very enjoyable relaxing stay

An amazing Holiday cottage, with wonderful hosts and perfect location

Really lovely property - so well looked after.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at this cottage! The games room was an added bonus - did not expect a full-size snooker table - we all had a lot of fun, playing several games, during our stay.

Leigh Holt is a lovely place to stay.

It is on a working farm and therefore is in the countryside, but very close to Shepton Mallet and an easy drive to Longleat, Wells, Bath and Glastonbury. Kate was very welcoming and helpful and the gifts of wine and cake were very much appreciated. There is nothing we could fault about our stay and will definitely be returning next year.

We had a lovely stay at Leigh Holt.

Kate is very polite and could not do enough to help. The cottage was very clean on our arrival. It is the perfect place to stay as it is very central for days out and only 5 minutes drive from Shepton Mallet. The games room is an extra bonus for those lazy afternoons. This was our first holiday as a family and we will definitely be booking with Kate again.

The bungalow exceeded our expectations, it was clean and comfortable and had all the equipment we needed.

Kate ensured that there were no feathers or pot pourri due to asthma. Her recommendations for local tourist attractions were great. The property was COVID safe and we will be visiting again.

The cottage was more than we expected, the bedrooms were spacious as was the lounge and kitchen, the place was spotlessly clean with supplies of all the necessary equipment, (loads of toilet rolls) a number of good pubs locally but we stayed in and cooked a couple of nights as everything is there that you need.

The games room is a great plus too with he full sized snooker table and table tennis table to use if the weather turns bad. All in all we had a fantastic relaxing week in a truly beautiful cottage, we will definitely be back.

Leigh Holt is a lovely place to stay.

We had everything we needed and even cake waiting for us when we arrived! We all loved the games room and there are some great days out close by. We loved Longleat, Wookey Hole, the local lido and Mendip activity centre. Highly recommended.

It had recently been renovated and is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It has a great games room attached with snooker and ping pong tables. It is set on a working farm but is very quiet and peaceful. The location was perfect for sightseeing areas such as the Roman baths, Wookey hole and Wells cathedral. Lovely cottage in a very rural location.

The owners next door were friendly & left us to our own devices. Only small criticism ( not that it was in the control of the owners or Sykes ) was there was no village pub within walking distance as was made to believe - the nearest in Cranmore looks derelict, so would have to drive to nearest establishment.. this aside, very peaceful & we were even treated to a live birth of a calf on the farm . Snooker & table tennis in a private game’s room was a nice touch, as was the carrot cake & apple juice left by Katie. We will love to return one day soon ❤️

We had a fantastic week at Leigh Holt.

The property was immaculate and the little extra touches were much appreciated. We spent hours in the games room playing snooker, pool and table tennis. There were plenty of cues, rests and bats to use. The living room was so comfortable as were the beds and there was loads of storage space in the bedrooms and in the kitchen; as well as lots of plates, cups etc to use. The cooker and the dishwasher were easy to understand straight away - something we haven’t always encountered - and there were all the utensils you could need, including a pizza cutter (we had taken our own just in case but didn’t need it). We would love to go back again, which shows what a great place it was. Thank you.

Fabulous, spacious and well equipped cottage, beautifully decorated throughout.

Lots of parking space and easy access to main roads despite the rural farm setting. The games room is large, well equipped with individual heaters and a music system. The bed was very comfortable and the bedrooms, like most of the single level accommodation were very spacious. Kate, the owner, met us on arrival and was easy to contact if required. She added some very thoughtful extra touches which were greatly appreciated. Highly recommended.

The Original information provided and photography was cleverly selected and presented to mislead.

The cottage was presented as far more than it was. The games room was separate from the main building and suffered with damp making it an unpleasant space. The supplies included were far more limited than supplied with any lodge or Cottage rented in the last 20 years, actually ever. The cottage was clean but poor value for money for the price, even down to insufficient toilet paper supplied for a three day stay. Also beds were very uncomfortable and were clearly past their best, The dog poo on our leave from their dog summed up the experience. We were disappointed but made the best of it for our stay. We will be back to the area but would not stay in this cottage again. It is supposed to be for five. I think not, it was small for us alone. Positive - owner was a nice lady but clearly a lot to learn about renting a cottage to fulfilling the remit and resoonsibility.

We have had an excellent week. The cottage had everything we needed and more! We had great fun in the games room, the children loved the table tennis. Plenty to see and do close by to the cottage, we enjoyed Longleat, Stonehenge, Cheddar Gorge, and the caves at Wookey!

Our Stay at Leigh Holt was perfect.

Definitely one of the best places we have stayed in using Sykes Holiday Cottages.The weather was fantastic too. Kate and Alex made us feel so welcome. The place was immaculate, thoroughly home from home. The bonus was calves had been born the week before, so they were sharing the meadow with their mothers, at the bottom of the garden. We would most certainly recommend Leigh Holt to anyone who wants a cottage where they can relax and also be near to many places that Somerset has to offer. Two good pubs a few minutes away by car who dish up food near by. The Poachers Pocket, good pub food served very quickly. Also The Strode Arms who seem to be building up a business which had been neglected before, serve good quality food locally sourced,cooked to order, which was most enjoyable, need to book especially at weekends at both places.

The cottage was excellent, everything to make your holiday a success.

We would recommend this cottage to anyone who seeks a nice peaceful time. The young family who run the cottage are kind and considerate, and cater to all your needs.

Great cottage, very clean & comfortable.

This has to be THE cleanest holiday cottage we have ever stayed in!

10 out of 10 for all areas! It was so lovely to walk into such a place and to know that the standard was that high. It may not be important to everyone but I think all agree that there is nothing worse than feeling you have to put everything through the dishwasher before use (yes, we've had holidays like that!) It is also unusual to find somewhere that is so well equipped - TV with freeview and DVD, WiFi, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer - the lot - and all in pristine condition. It was also nice to have separate (shower room, toilet) en suites to the master bedroom (not seen that before) and a very useful 'games room' with full size snooker table and table tennis (kept my husband and son happy whilst I watching boring TV!!) All in all we could not fault this lovely cottage on a farm and expressed our gratitude to the friendly, approachable hosts who were on site (attached house) should we have needed them.
