Description

Castaway Cottage Maidens is a welcoming bungalow resting in Maidens, South Ayrshire, offering off-road parking, WiFi, and a pet-friendly base within easy reach of the village beach, shop, and pub. Pull up outside and step into a home that hints at the coast beyond, with brick features and the promise of evenings gathered around the coal fire after days by the sea. The kitchen provides everything you need to rustle up simple suppers, while the adjoining living/diner invites you to linger over meals, board games, or a film on the Smart TV as flames crackle in the grate. Three thoughtfully presented bedrooms give everyone their own space, including a double with its own en-suite and two twin rooms ideal for friends or younger guests, served by a sleek shower room with walk-in shower and heated towel rail.

In the morning, wander down to the local shop for fresh ingredients, call in at the nearby pub for a leisurely lunch, or continue to the beach, where you can breathe in the sea air, skim stones, and let children and four-legged companions enjoy the sand. Spend your days tracing the shoreline, discovering sheltered spots to sit with a takeaway coffee, or simply watching the changing light on the water. As the day draws to a close, return to Castaway Cottage Maidens to leave sandy shoes in the hallway, prepare a relaxed meal, and share plans for the next adventure around the table. There are many interesting sites nearby, including Culzean Castle and Turnberry Lighthouse. Whether you are escaping for a family break or a get-together with friends, Castaway Cottage Maidens, South Ayrshire offers a straightforward base for enjoying time by the coast.

Cottage is lovely.

Owner has done a fabulous job with the refurbishment. Garden is super and secure - which was so reassuring as our Westie (Murray) loved exploring. Maiden was a good base to explore the surrounding area. Its just a shame the hotel doesn't have a dedicated bar area as they appear to be missing a trick.

Immaculate property.

The owners have definitely decided to go for quality, and it makes for a great environment and stay. Beautifully clean and smelling gorgeous. Great beds. Big garden, which the dogs loved. TV was a little annoying but we coped. One of the nicest places we have ever stayed.
