The property

Highmead, a charming, semi-detached property nestled on the outskirts of Burry Port in the beautiful Carmarthenshire.

Situated less than two miles from the beach, Highmead offers a tranquil abode for families and friends looking to escape to South Wales.

Upon arrival, park up on the driveway before becoming familiar with your new home-from-home.

After a day of exploring, unwind in the sitting room as you watch your favourite show on the Smart TV, or take a seat in the rear lawned garden, where you can reflect on the day with a glass of wine in hand.

The kitchen is well-equipped and ready for you to create delicious meals for you and your guests, and you can choose to enjoy them over lively conversations at the dining room table.

Travel up the stairs to find the sleeping quarters, where you will be able to rest in the king-size, twin and single bedrooms.

There is also a bathroom with a bath and shower over, so you can best decide how to prepare for the day.

Head out the door and explore the town, taking a stroll along the harbour and building sandcastles on the beach before stopping off for lunch in a local restaurant.

Llanelli offers activities such as the Wetlands Centre and railway trips to the Gower Peninsula whilst Kidwelly is situated five miles away and is steeped in history; explore the remains of Kidwelly Castle, built by the Normans, a fascinating reminder of the area’s past, with a guided tour offering an insight into the castle’s history.

Alternatively, you can spend a day in Pembrey Country Park, where you can explore the 8 miles of golden sands, a dry ski slope, cycle paths, a water sports centre, a miniature railway and much more.

However you choose to spend your holiday time, a break at Highmead promises adventure and relaxation.

About the location

BURRY PORT

Llanelli 4 miles; Kidwelly 5 miles; Carmarthen 16 miles.

Burry Port is perfectly located on the beautiful South West Wales coastline and has a selection of shops, a Post Office, several pubs and restaurants. The golf club is renowned for offering all year round sport, no matter what the weather throws at you, and the sandy beach is equally delightful on hot summer, or wild stormy winter days. The harbour is a hive of activity, where you can sit and watch the fishermen return to shore with their fish laden boats. The Millennium Coastal Park with its 22kms of off road cycletrack runs along this beautiful coastline, allowing walkers and cyclists alike to discover one of the most scenic routes in Wales. For the shoppers in your party, Carmarthen is a vibrant shopping centre, with lots of main chain stores plus small, unique Welsh gift shops, lovely restaurants, tea rooms, pubs, a bowling alley and a cinema for film buffs. Llanelli offers a great range of out of town shopping, a modern cinema, a theatre and a leisure centre, as well as a Nicklaus-designed modern links golf course. For horse racing fans, the Ffos Las racecourse is open all year with many meetings and is fast becoming the best new racecourse in the UK. The lovely eight mile long Cefn Sidan beach is just over 2 miles away, one of the treasures of Pembrey Country Park. Motor enthusiasts can enjoy an extensive calendar of events at the nearby Pembrey Motor Sports Centre, whilst nature lovers will adore the National Wetlands Centre Wales at the eastern end of the Millennium Coastal Park.
