Newport is a very pleasant coastal town with enough facilities for your stay. The old port and Coastal path is just half a mile away, and the beach a little further. Firstly, thank you to Maggie for being such a wonderful host and her welcome message and checking that everything was OK. The advice about the take out fish and chips resulted in a high quality meal. The Castle Inn is opposite Craigluscar with a decent menu. We both felt the house was one that we could live in! Very spacious, comfortable and clean with very good facilities including bathroom and shower wet room.. The beds were very comfortable, the dining-kitchen well equipped and ideal with the separate utility area. The out front private parking is most helpful. We enjoyed walking from Newport to Fishguard (Coastal Path), two walks in the Preseli Hills, circular town walk and a visit to St. Davids Cathedral. A wonderful week and outstanding accommodation.

The property

Found in the beautiful coastal town of Newport, just under a mile away from the serene River Nevern and its estuary, is this beautiful property sleeping up to five, ideal for a fun family getaway to the beach or exploring the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline.

Craigluscar is located on a quiet cul-de-sac off the main road and has been renovated to a high standard, whilst still retaining a traditional cottage feel, achieving the perfect balance of contemporary and homely.

Relax on the leather sofa in the elegant sitting room and enjoy the company of your loved ones after a busy day exploring the Welsh coast, or choose to fall back on one of the two plush chairs, enjoying a complimentary Netflix movie or reading a book whilst the gas stove-effect fire warms your feet.

Cook up a delicious home-cooked meal in the large kitchen / diner complete with all the essentials including a dishwasher to help with the washing.

For the coffee connoisseur there`s even a Nespresso machine.

Resting behind is a useful utility room, where you can make use of the washing machine and tumble dryer during a long stay; this room leads on to a large wet room with a wall-mounted shower seat, ideal for any guests with mobility difficulty.

When you're ready to settle in for the night, choose from one of three bedrooms upstairs, all with Hypnos mattresses, Egyptian cotton sheets and decorated with stunning neutral décor and complete with ample storage for your belongings.

To the outside, there's an enclosed garden space, accompanied by seating, a perfect place to unwind on a warm summer's day.

Craigluscar is a great honeypot location within the town of Newport, surrounded by a range of shops, country-style pubs, a pharmacy, and a post office.

Walk over to The Castle Inn, where you can indulge in local Welsh beer, cider or botanical gin or, if you're feeling creative, check out Newport Gallery (Oriel) showcasing local artists.

Just a short walk downhill is Newport Parrog Beach, but be sure to check out the incoming tide times so your day doesn't get cut too short.

A longer walk away is Traeth Mawr, a glorious beach and popular tourist attraction filled with canoes and kayaks for excellent water sport activities.

There's a number of outdoor activities to experience, including horse riding at Crosswell Horse Agency, along with golfing, cycling and canoeing.

The nearby market town of Cardigan is the perfect starting point to begin a tour of the many beautiful Welsh beaches in close proximity, including Mwnt Beach, Poppit Sands Beach and Tresaith Beach.

Craigluscar is a great location to spend a perfect break away in a rural town centre whilst being close to relaxing beaches, walks and trails.
