What guests are saying
This was our third visit and we had another very comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The Pottery is the perfect place to stay for a Newport holiday - beautiful, comfortable and ideally located for the Parrog and village.
The Pottery is a beautiful and very comfortable home in a great location for a holiday in Newport.
We have stayed here several times and always enjoyed our breaks. Thank you !
Dear Mrs Macdonald Many thanks for your lovely review. We’re delighted you enjoyed another stay at The Pottery and look forward to welcoming you back again soon! Diolch yn fawr
Enjoyed a second birthday stay at The Pottery and it was as good as the first visit.
Location near facilities of Newport and the Parrog is second to none. The pottery itself is comfortable, well equipped and furnished, owners have thought of every convienece to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. Would highly recommend this property for an enjoyable Pembrokshire stay.
Dear Mr Carpenter Thank you for your lovely review of The Pottery. We’re so pleased you chose to return for your birthday and that your stay was just as enjoyable. Our housekeeper also sends her thanks. We’d be delighted to welcome you back again. Diolch yn fawr
A beautiful cottage, that was so well designed and lovely furnishings.
Exceptionally clean and fresh, clearly well maintained. Very close to the village with shops and pubs etc. An ideal place for a relaxed get away.
Dear Mrs Snook Thank you so much for your lovely comments. We’re delighted you enjoyed your stay and found everything clean, comfortable and well looked after. It’s great to hear how much you liked The Pottery with its proximity to the local shops, we’d love to welcome you back again. Diolch yn fawr
Our second stay in this lovely property.
Only negative was the low lighting which made reading difficult. Maybe install a reading lamp or two. One maintenance issue - the front door (RHS) is sticking at the bottom so needs to be adjusted before it causes damage. We used the LHS door instead.
Dear Dr Newbold Thank you for returning to The Pottery and for your positive review. We’ll look at adding some extra lighting to make reading easier and we’ve already alerted our letting agents about the door. Thanks for letting us know. Delighted you enjoyed your stay again and we’d love to welcome you back soon. Diolch yn fawr Mark & Debbie
The property was lovely.
Really loved the comfortable well equip house. However I was disappointed with not being able to speak to the booking agent when we were unsure if we were going to have to cancel. NOT HAVING A PERSON TO SPEAK TO IS NOT IDEAL, NOT RECOMMENDABLE AT ALL.
Dear Mrs Inger, Thank you for your kind review and for rating The Pottery so highly across all categories. We were sorry to hear about the difficulty you experienced when trying to speak with someone regarding a possible cancellation. Unfortunately, as owners, we are not made aware of these enquiries when they are handled by the booking agents, and we often only become aware of such issues through guest reviews. We have ensured that your feedback has been passed on to the agents to help improve the experience for future guests. We always leave our contact number at the house so that guests can reach us directly during their stay. We are always happy to help and can often respond more quickly than the agency system allows. Thank you again for choosing The Pottery. We hope to welcome you back to Newport in the future. Diolch yn fawr.
Excellent cottage, one of the best we have stayed in (and we do this sort of holiday many times a year).
Beautifully decorated and furnished, with a real attention to detail. One complaint, we did find some of the lighting a little too subtle! Ideal location for exploring the area. Plenty of nice places to eat out within easy walking distance. Hope to be back.
Dear Mrs Watkins-Nash Thank you for your 5 star review and we’re delighted that you rate The Pottery so highly. We’ll be sure to pass on your feedback to all those who help manage and maintain the house. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Diolch yn fawr
We'd love to pass our gratitude to the owners of The Pottery for letting us stay in their lovely house.
There was everything in the house we needed for the perfect home-from-home experience, thank you so much. It's a very beautiful house and we really appreciated the thoughtful internal decor.
Dear Mr Fieldhouse Thank you for your 5 star review of The Pottery. We always like to hear from guests that have enjoyed their break in Newport, Pembrokeshire. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Diolch yn fawr.
The Pottery is a comfortable, spacious and luxurious property in a perfect location in Newport short walk one way to the coast, and pubs and shops 3 minute walk the other way.
Comfortable furniture, lots of local pieces, throws and cushions from a local mill plus ewe-moos. Fantastic log burner. Very comfortable beds and bedding, plus a view of the coast from master bedroom which was a great surprise. Though central location it's very quiet. The Pottery has been designed with comfort and relaxation in mind.
Dear Mr Carpenter Thank you for leaving such a fantastic review of The Pottery and for highlighting the features of the house. Everyone remarks that the location couldn’t be better, just a short walk from the pubs and restaurants in one direction and the beach in the other. We hope to welcome you back soon. Diolch yn fawr.
The pottery is a lovely house.
The view from the bedroom of the sea was beautiful. It had everything we needed. Lovely location on the parrog. The house was very clean and very tidy when we arrived. Thank you for the milk, Welsh cakes it was a nice surprise.
Dear Mr Williams Thank you for leaving a 5 star review painting The Pottery in such a positive light. We’re blessed with its location and everyone involved works hard to ensure it’s maintained to meet guests’ expectations. We look forward to welcoming you back again. Diolch yn fawr.
The Pottery was one of the best accommodations we have stayed in for a UK break.
The photos did not do it justice. For our family of 4 it was ideal. The location worked perfectly for us and it felt like a luxurious home from home. Newport was a lovely village and the surrounding areas made for great walks and easy drives out. 10 out of 10!
Dear Mrs Marshall Thank you for your generous and positive review of The Pottery. Everyone involved works hard to ensure that guests have a comfortable stay which is why we’re always delighted to hear that we have met families’ expectations. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Diolch yn fawr.
We loved our time at The Pottery.
Every last detail is of a high standard. There are plenty of crockery, mugs, cutlery etc. and all equipment, furniture is of a high quality which makes for a very comfortable stay. Everything has been thought of - games for children, even a 2nd fridge tucked away in a cupboard. Location is superb, with all amenities in Trefdraeth/Newport within walking distance. We enjoyed the walk down to Parrog & along the river, across the golf course to Newport Sands. I remember the pottery when it was open & we would park in its car park to stay in Mrs Mathias’ B&B when I was a child. Lots to see & do in & around Newport, Fishguard & Cardigan. Diolch o galon. Am sure we’ll return.
Dear Ms Cox Thank you for the kind and positive review following your recent stay at The Pottery. Indeed we’re familiar with its recent past not only as a Pottery, but also as a boat yard whilst, family and friends tell us the history goes back even further! It remains our quest to try and locate some of the original fixings from its past use. You’ll have seen the sign in the kitchen and a guest even left us a piece of pottery that they bought many years ago! We look forward to welcoming you and your family back soon. Diolch yn fawr
The Pottery is a lovely property in a perfect location.
It’s an easy walk to the sea and an easy stroll into town. The house is tastefully decorated with lots of lovely Melyn Tregwynt throws and cushions. It’s comfortable and well- equipped. The only slight negative is a lack of outside space for dining, but with the coast and the town so close, this hardly matters. We had a wonderful stay.
Dear Mrs Rees Thank you for your positive and honest review. We’re pleased that you had a wonderful stay and benefitted from the convenient location. Diolch yn fawr The Pottery Pembs
This was our second visit to The Pottery; the location, easy parking and high standard of presentation all make it a very enjoyable and comfortable place to stay.
Thank you.

A very comfortable and layed out house with great furnishings and really comfortable beds.
Plenty of crockery and utensils and nice to have coffee pods, milk and other essentials. Very well positioned, on the doorstep of the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast and some great pubs with good food. We really enjoyed our stay.
Dear Adam Thank you for taking the time to write such a fabulous review. We’re pleased that the kitchen provided you with everything you needed and we’d agree with you, that the location is ideal! We look forward to welcoming you again. Diolch yn fawr
What a beautiful home you have!
We loved the very high end furnishings, especially the melin tregwynt throws and cushions and ewe moos- good to see Welsh crafts being used. The house felt very luxurious, warm and comfortable which was great as the weather was awful! The kitchen was really well equipped and the massive tv was a bonus! The lovely view of the sea from the little balcony was another bonus. We had a lovely week, thank you
Thank you for your kind and generous review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at The Pottery. Diolch yn fawr.
A perfect property in a perfect location.
2 mins walk to all the amenities on offer in the beautiful town of Newport, lots of choice of cafes and places to eat. Great location for discovering all that Pembrokeshire has to offer. The property itself is one of the best I have stayed in, even better than the photos! I would highly recommend. Spotlessly clean and high quality furnishings and fittings. Lovely and warm for those winter stays too. The owners clearly invest heavily in this beautiful property and the comfort of their guests. Thank you for a delightful stay.
What an amazing review, many thanks. We’re pleased that you enjoyed The Pottery. Diolch yn fawr.
Lovely property and really comfortable stay for all guests.
Excellent showers, well equipped kitchen, and cozy wood fire were all very much appreciated aspects of the house.
Dear Kevin Thank you for your amazing review of The Pottery. We’re delighted that you enjoyed your stay and we hope you will be back soon. Diolch yn fawr.
The Pottery is one of the best cottages we have stayed in, a home from home and very well appointed.
The beds in particular were incredibly comfortable and we slept like logs! We appreciated the generous welcome hamper which made a lovely start to our stay. The location in Newport was also excellent, as it was so easy to get to everything in the village whilst also being very accessible for walking on the coast path. Thank you.
Dear Gareth Thank you for leaving a positive and informative review. Feedback is encouraging for all of us involved who work towards maintaining high standards for our guests. Above all else, we’re pleased that The Pottery met your high expectations whilst staying here in North Pembrokeshire. Diolch yn fawr am eich hadolygiad positif. Gobeithio cewch chi gyfle i aros eto!
