  • "We had a really wonderful time."

The current photos of the listing on Sykes really does not do it justice. I expected a working farm to be a little noisy in the mornings but it was so quite and peacefull. Covered hot tub and outdoor seating was fantastic as we did have a fair bit of rain and it made no difference at all. The owners were lovely and even came to rescue me when I got a bit lost. Everything was five star, it couldn't have been better. Many thanks.

  • "Yr Hen Llaethdy Is a delightful, comfortable and well equipped property."

We found it spotlessly clean and VERY well appointed, every conceivable needs seems to have been thought of and catered for. The facilities provided were, quite possibly, the best we have every experienced. The hosts were very welcoming and the welcome items were thoughtful and appreciated. The property is well situated as a base for exploration of South West Wales. We explored from Aberystwyth to the Gower peninsula with no problems whatsoever. Everyone we came into contact with were delightful, very friendly and welcoming. We could not recommend Yr Hen Llaethdy more highly.

We are delighted with your feedback, thank you. We are pleased that your first visit to Wales was so memorable and enjoyable. Best wishes and kind regards Rod and Joy Property Owner

  • "Only a negative: the internet in the cottage is very week, there is no router in the actual cottage."

Being on a farm means listening to the animals raising early in the morning! :) Beds are too soft, but that's a personal preference. Overall the cottage is fabulous, very well equipped and the owners are very welcoming. We had a great week away with our kids and dogs.

Thank you for your feedback. We were unaware of the extent of the current WiFi issues in the cottage until after your family left on 7 August as it was not mentioned it to us. Living in rural West Wales, WiFi is not always reliable and over the years we have invested in technology to try and improve connectivity and band-width. As a direct result of this feedback we pursued the matter again and have now benefited from advancement in technology and had 4G installed on 14 September. Our guests who stayed last week have said that the signal is "fantastic" and it extends to the courtyard garden. It is always a great disappointment to us if our guest experience is impaired in any way and we shall always do our utmost to address any shortcomings should they occur. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay otherwise. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was beautifully presented , the owners strive to make everything perfect."

The setting is peaceful, but the price you pay for this is reliance on the car. There is nothing , such as a shop or a pub , that is within walking distance. That aside , there are so many beautiful places to visit. Small seaside towns , Aberporth, and Tresaith are quiet with lovely walks nearby. New Quay, is busier but great for dolphin spotting. The Welsh Wildlife trust at Cilgerran is worthy of a visit. Newcastle Emlyn is 3 miles away , handy for supplies and several pubs . We ate twice at The Bunch Of Grapes and were very happy with the food. We felt very spoilt in our cottage , could find no fault , the hot tub was a treat that we both enjoyed.

  • "My father, husband and I spent a wonderful week staying in this holiday cottage on the farm and none of us wanted to leave I can tell you."

Joy & Rod are both such lovely, friendly and kind people and honestly cannot do enough for you. The cottages is so well equipped you need not take hardly anything with you at all which is brilliant. The beds are extremely comfortable and the whole layout of the place is lovely, spacious and so clean. We walked in and were shown around by Joy, who made sure we knew exactly where everything was and how it worked. The Welcome goodybag was such a lovely touch and a really nice start to our first evening there. We thoroughly enjoyed the fresh chicken eggs from their chickens with our morning breakfasts and evening omelettes. We were also privileged enough to try some duck eggs as well, which were just as lovely. Rod kindly introduced us to his animals which was one big plus of staying on a farm, seeing the baby calves and lambs as well as the ducks, chickens and friendly farm cats, which will welcome you at the back door each morning. Having the hot tub was so nice after you had been out for a day trip or a long walk. We would just sit back and relax our muscles which was a lovely end to each day. The underfloor heating that warms the whole place is really good, we were warm and snug the whole week we there and it was lovely under foot too. There are so many things about this property which are lovely, the quality of furniture, extremely well equipped kitchen and attention to detail right through is brilliant. There are many places to see around the area but I would recommend:- -Sculptureheaven, a really lovely little place to visit and their cakes and cordials are wonderful. -Cenarth falls just round the corner, you can enjoy a lunch & drink in the pub opposite or a nice ice cream from the little gift shop, while taking a walk down the side of the river listening to the water rumbling over the stones. -Cardigan coastal farm park is a great place to visit if you have children to see the farm animals but even for us, just to enjoy the coastal walk above and see the Seals bobbing their heads up about the water and if you are lucky, a dolphin too. -Visit Caws Cenarth cheese farm and watch through windows into the factory as they make the cheese, separating the curds and whey and then down by hand putting the cards into the cheese moulds. Then walk across to the shop for some tastings, you can't help come away with bags of cheese, it's lovely. -The National Wool Museum just around the corner is quite interesting as well and worth a visit. We also visited a Goldmine, a Waterfall and a Coal mine, which were further afield but all really good too.
