We have just returned from 4 nights at Tangaer cottage.

It has been a perfect base for us as a family of 4 and a dog (kids aged 3 and 10). The cottage was clean and everything we could need has been thought of. Milk, butter, tea, bread, hot chocolate and coffee pods, oil, salt, pepper, herbs, dishwasher tablets, shampoo, shower gel, hand wash, washing up liquid etc were all stocked. There were several games to play, lots of choices of dvds, loads of books and even a kids book station too. The kids had so much fun on the swings and slide, and my son was given a football to play with too which was lovely. The fire pit at night time toasting marshmallows was great. And the fire inside was also a highlight for me, very peaceful. The living room is such a cosy space. In the kitchen there are loads of utensils, pans etc for anything you may need. The utility is fab too with use of the washer dryer coming in handy for us on several occasions! It was a shame the jacuzzi bath was not working due to a previous leak as we were looking forward to this, but it was not the end of the world, kids still enjoyed the large tub without the bubbles! All beds were comfy, rooms were spacious with plenty of storage space. One thing to mention is the chest of drawers handles in the kids room did keep coming off, but you can still use the drawers. The WiFi was not working for us when we first arrived after the bad storm prior to us arriving, but we were given access to the owners WiFi so we could still access Internet which was a lovely gesture. It was still spotty but that's to be expected after a storm! We had to access a course on zoom and were unable to join due to the low connection, but we were offered to use the owners house next door which again was such a lovely gesture. Definitely recommend decent wellies or muck boots if you want to go walking through the farmers fields as the muck is very deep in areas. Beautiful views and very serene. Access to the cottage is through narrow lanes and you feel completely in the middle of nowhere, but only 3 miles to the high Street where the large co-op is a fantastic shop to get everything you may need. We travelled out to Aberaeron harbor, new quay beach, Aberystwyth and the national trust llanachaeron. All recommended, and all very dog friendly, but be mindful pubs stop serving lunch at 3pm and most places don't start serving food again until 5pm so if you want to eat in a pub etc time it right, or you're very limited on what is open and serving food. Crabbing around Aberaeron harbor was great fun, we purchased our net, bait and bucket from new quay Overall I would recommend tangaer cottage to anyone. We have had such a chilled week and are very grateful to Iona and Geraint for a fantastic stay.

Great little cottage in the country.

The peace and quiet is great and the views are amazing. Its was great waking up to the sounds of sheep and cows. The cottage itself is perfect. Its a home from home and comes equipped with everything you need right down to the open fire for the country cottage feel sitting in front of the fireplace. The owners are great. They live next door and are always on hand if you need anything or have any issues and nothing is any trouble for them to sort out. Will def book again and revisit

The cottage is in a rural setting near Lampeter, so is nice and quiet - yet less than 10 minutes from useful facilities, and within easy reach of the coast or equally interesting destinations.

Whenever I go to a Sykes cottage, I usually take the basics because some can be lacking, but not Tangaer as everything was supplied. Couldn't fault it.
