  • "A lovely hidden away cottage, very good for spending good quality time or disconnecting from all your daily worries; but unfortunately not quite cared for."

It has a lot of potential but it could use a lite more love. For start, the proximity of the cottages need a lot of clear-up from all the rubbish around like old pans and crates, to the unloved garden full of weeds, not trimmed bushes and the piles of sticks left on the path behind the cottage. There’s also a good sized entertainment room that is in a very poor state with nothing else in it but damp books and a mini billiard table. It is such a shame as this could be a wonderful place considering also that there’s some sort of water pool with ducks around. Regarding the indoors, it is quite clear that the property has probably been converted from a stable into a living space, but could certainly and easily be improved. If you are considering this place to rent it with your friends and you need time to sleep so you can recuperate, then it isn’t the best one as every time when someone will open a door, or take few steps on the hallway or even flush the downstairs loo, it would wake you up because of these very loud, creaky noises. Then, what made me quite frustrated it was the fact that we’ve been asked to actually clean the place. Then what am I paying my money for? Having to skip breakfast just to make sure we tidy up the place in time before 10 am and also be out by that time isn’t quite convenient. We’ve had to gather the towels in a specific place, take off the bedding of the beds, refresh the rooms, clean the oven and fridge if we’ve used it, even to take the garbage out. Luckily we’ve not been asked to hoover as well , otherwise you could’ve move straight in. I understand the matters of common sense of not leaving a messy place behind you, or doing your dishes, but this has been a bit too much! It got us even more frustrated when we’ve found it mentioned that we need to do all these because they have to “deep clean the place” after every guest, but we actually couldn’t miss the fact that the place wasn’t immaculate! There were cob webs everywhere, thick layer of dust on the beams, wood lice on the floors and a terrible smell meeting you right at the entrance. Then, considering we’ve booked the entire place that can accommodate around 6 people, we’ve actually been shocked to find out that we all had to share a soap bar in the upstairs loo, and has just one of each: 5 ml shampoo bottle , conditioner, shower gel and body lotion. On top of that , most of the towels and beddings were stained with something black…looked like oil. I’m so disappointed and upset that I have to write these , as I really think this could be administered better and actually be enjoyable. They have extremely comfortable mattresses and pillows that you sometimes cannot even find in hotels! Very well sized rooms and blinds everywhere so you really could enjoy sleeping there! I also loved the fact that they’ve messaged before our arrival and asked us if we would like some milk in the fridge for coffee and they even left us laundry and dishes pods. Overall, I have mixed feelings about our stay, and I would probably give it another try if I’ll see more good reviews and some improvement.

Eirlys was a very thoughtful host during our stay. Absolutely wonderful beds, one of - if not the most comfortable place we've stayed in. The area is really peaceful and everything is accessible shop wise and in the property. Would love to stay again.
