"What a beautiful property."
My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The highlight was greeting the horses every day, they were a delight. The owner was so helpful in every aspect. The property is spacious, clean and comfortable. The beds were particularly cosy. Plenty of equipment to cook for yourself but places close by if you wanted to eat out. It was perfect weather for the wood burning stove which was easy to light. We wish we’d found this place sooner as we visit the area yearly. It was easy to get into Swansea, the Gower, Cardiff yet you felt you were in the countryside. A lovely place.
Thank you so much for such lovely feedback on the property and the area. We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope your long drive home to Scotland was ok despite the storm and that there wasn’t any/ too much damage once you arrived. We’d be delighted to see you back at Cwrt y Wennol in the future. "A beautiful barn conversion under an hour's drive from the delights of the Gower."
One drawback we encountered staying as a family group was that the open-plan nature of the upstairs king bedroom meant that noise from the late birds kept the early to bedders awake! A few more hooks to hang towels etc. in the bedrooms would have also been nice but otherwise, a very well-appointed holiday home.
Glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your feedback- we will give it some thought! Best wishes Property Owner

"Love, love, love!"
The cottage was absolutely stunning, the listing didn't actually do it justice.
On arrival there were the necessary basics to have a brew after a long drive, plus some extra treats too. Everything was set up as asked, it was cosy and comfortable.
Would recommend anyone wanting to do a bit of stargazing, the view over the fields from the upstairs balcony is stunning both night and day.
Sandy and Ben are quite honestly the friendliest horses ever, was a real pleasure to go out and spend time with them in a morning.
Close enough to amenities but definitely a rural location for some well needed R & R. The Internet isn't fantastic but that wasn't an issue for us and is beyond the owners control due to the upcoming PSTN switch off, it's a good feeling doing a technology detox - overall for us it was absolutely perfect.
Another lovely little touch which we discovered as we were leaving was the dresser full of books which the owners have left for people to take away if they wish.
Have every intention of returning to this little piece of heaven. ❤️
Thank you to the Higgins family for sharing this beautiful property.
Thank you very much for this detailed and generous feedback- it’s lovely to read it. We hope to welcome you back soon!

"We had a fantastic relaxing stay at the barn."
It was such a quiet and comfortable place to stay, but close enough to lots of lovely Gower beaches, the Lliw Reservoirs and Pengealler Valley for days out. Geraint asked us to contact him for help with anything that we needed but there was nothing that could have made this holiday more perfect.

"A splendid cottage in every respect."
The hosts were wonderful and very helpful. Our son and ourselves enjoyed finding local footpaths and visiting most of the beaches on the Gower fully supported by the wealth of local literature provided by our friendly hosts. We return home refreshed but with the definite intention to return here again. Alan

"A well designed cottage with a high end finish in beautiful surroundings."
Lovely Welsh welcoming gift when we arrived. We especially enjoyed seeing the horses going out to field and back. A very comfortable and cosy stay with everything that we needed. A great layout for the family especially with separate toilet. (Could benefit from hand rails in shower for people with needs)
The property had some activities for the children to use. Ideally situated for visiting the Swansea area.

"Fantastic property."
Daffodils on the table. Milk, tea-bags and Welsh cakes made the perfect welcome. The beds were so comfortable. Everything worked in the property. We booked only a two night stay to see family but the property made the perfect location away from the main city, which was only a 20 minute drive. Lovely walks nearby - we have rebooked the property for a full week to explore the Brecon Beacons. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

"This is the second time this year we have been to this cottage, which is perfectly placed to be out in the country and away from things, but in close proximity to Swansea and the beaches."
It has the reservoir just down the road and various walks if required. The cottage is well kept, clean and comfortable and the log burner is a real treat with lots of parking for your cars. The family who own the property are an absolute delight welcoming and helpful. Lovely to see the horses in the field and watch them from the windows. We will be back again no doubt.

"Very spacious barn conversion with everything you could possibly need."
Lovely peaceful rural setting in quiet stable yard, but quite close to all amenities. Lots of interest all around and some lovely walking in the hills and valleys. Air source heating may struggle in the winter, but there’s always an efficient log burner!

"This property was absolutley stunning."
Well exceeded my expectations. I knew it was nearby a working stable but didn't realise the horses would be so close! Plenty of firewood provided so we could get cosy each night. One very minor issue was that the WiFi wasn't the strongest, but was fine for streaming netflix. So peaceful and quiet, hardly a peep from any cars. Beds were very very comfortable and plenty of space in the kitchen/lounge for me and my friends to enjoy some games. We all had a fabulous stay!

"Had a lovely stay at Cwrt y Wennol."
The cottage is a lovely renovation and very well equipped. We loved the wildlife around us and seeing the horses in their field and stables each day. Plenty to do in the surrounding area and some lovely sandy beaches to visit. Self catering is easy with supermarkets nearby and local take aways if you don't want to cook every night. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

"The cottage was just delightful."
It was beautifully decorated, comfortable and really well equipped. The location was ideal and we enjoyed getting out and about and exploring everyday. We took our bikes and were able to cycle from the cottage to the beautiful local reservoir.
We were made to feel very welcome by the owners and nothing was too much trouble. They even contacted us to let us know about M4 closures prior to our arrival which was very thoughtful.
We had a wonderful time and would definitely return.

"Brilliant location."
A beautifully renovated cottage, close to Swansea and the coast, but out in the countryside. You can watch the horses in the field and stables whilst enjoying the luxury of a log burner. The decor is simple but stylish and the beds are extremely comfortable. The floor space and rooms are large. They were very friendly Hosts, especially Bev who regularly opened and shut the gate for us whilst he was around. They kindly gave us a few excellent choices of walks nearby. As well as the ones we found ourselves by the reservoir and the woods. We will definitely come again.

"The cottage is newly renovated and exceeded our exceeded our expectations."
It was very clean, well equipped with plenty of cutlery, dinnerware, towels etc. & tastefully furnished to a very good standard. The beds are extremely comfortable and the shower/bath work well. Although it was winter when we stayed the cottage was toasty warm thanks to the heating system and log fire.
The horses stables (there are 2 horses) in the front yard was a huge highlight of our stay. It was just fantastic watching them from the comfort of our home. It was great to get to know the family who own the cottage who are very welcoming and ensured we were looked after.
The location of the cottage is a perfect balance of being close to amenities and the city of Swansea but also being in a peaceful rural location. It is within reach of a huge variety of attractions, beaches and waterfalls (a quick browse on google will show these).
We made some amazing memories here and will hopefully return (in warmer weather!). Would highly recommend booking Cwrt Y Wennol as holiday accommodation if visiting South Wales.
