  • "The owners of number 5 Chandlers Yard were more than accommodating, they went out of there way to ensure we had everything we needed."

The added touches were unexpected, they left some toys out for my daughter and a beautiful hamper of essentials and treats and a fridge of milk, butter and Prosecco! We would definitely recommend the accommodation to family and friends. The location was perfect , the beach, a park and amenities for food and drink all at your door step. My mum had the best 60th birthday weekend and lots of memories were made. Thank you number 5 Chandlers Yard, we’ve had the best time!

  • "The perfect house for a beach holiday - everything well found within."

Five minute walk to a fabulous beach. A beach which mutates completely with the tides and affords constant interest to kids of all ages. Take a net because there are crabs, shrimps and small fish to be caught, examined and returned to their environment. Take your cameras because there re great pictures also. Cafe and tea room are nearby a plus a great kids playground. Downside? This ain't no Tenby as its not geared for tourists. Some might say this is an advantage. Not much in the way of shops within walking distance. Not much in the way of souvenirs etc. However if you don't want to cook, there are some decent takeaways and a run down but well stocked Co-Op if you do. Would we go there again? Not 'arf!

Bury Port was awesome very small but we loved the beach and harbour views. Dogs were made very welcome too owner left a pack of treats for the pooches which was an awesome touch. The house was in a great location with the beach just round the corner. A few days before we went the owner phoned me to make sure we had everything we needed and that she would leave a hamper so we could make a drink when we arrived. On arrival the hamper that was left was amazing (even the dog was thought about). House was clean and tidy with everything you could need. I would definitely stay again.

  • "A beautifully presented house close to the beach and looking out over the inlet and park."

It was a bonus having the designated parking spaces at the rear but we were also able to park right outside the front on most days, although I imagine this would be more difficult in high season. There is a large car park next to the property where there is a popular creperie and the walkway leads round to the yacht club, harbour, a tea shop and a gorgeous beach, all no more than 5 minutes walk from the house. However this was all very quiet as we were there just as the schools started back. The house was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well furnished . The kitchen was well-equipped although a whisk and a pair of sturdy kitchen scissors would have been handy and the welcome pack was great. The icing on the cake was the lovely conservatory and, as my husband discovered, the Sky tv package included Sky Sports!! Plenty of golf, football and cricket to watch. Lots of little touches like the electric fans , tv in the bedroom and plenty of good quality hangers in the wardrobes. The location is ideal for exploring the area - we visited Kidwelly (try the Kidwelly Deli for freshly made sandwiches), Carmarthen, Gower Peninsula, Saundersfoot and Tenby. Fabulous beaches and beautiful scenery. Locally, we had a particularly good meal in the Coasting Pilot and also at The Ship Aground in Pembrey, just 5 mins drive away. We would recommend the house without hesitation. Thank you Sharon.

Apparently the house is warm even in the winter, which is a recommendation in itself. When we were there the weather was exceptional - temperatures in the 30's - so that would have tried any property. Inevitably we struggled to keep cool. There were plenty of fans provided, which helped.

The property is excellent, comfortable, spacious and very well equipped, it is well located close to the beach and the town. There are many places of interest within easy reach, Kidwelly with its castle, the Pembrey Country Park,, the Gower Peninsula and Llanelli with its out of town shopping centre and its Millennium Costal Park Burry Port also has a railway station if you want a break from driving. We would strongly recommend 5 Chandlers Yard for a holiday and we plan to return there n the future.

Everything was provided from bedding, towels, cleaning products, even tea, coffee and Ketchup! The owner left a lovely welcome hamper which included milk, bread and butter so we didn't have to rush out the the shop for the essentials. A call the day before to go through what they had done with regards to extra measures due to Covid was very reassuring. The location right on the beach was perfect. Lots of takeaways and a handy co-op across the road if you don't want to cook. Would absolutely recommend as a base to explore beautiful Wales or as a lovely home from home just to get away from it all. Would recommend a stroll along the 22km beach path and a trip to Pembury country park .

We stayed at number 1 Chandler’s Yard for the first year, but changed to no. 5 because it is more spacious and suits our growing family better. We can’t fault it’s position, so near to the shops, railway station, and car parks but most of all within a few minutes of the huge beach and Penbury Park which has many amenities to amuse the children. I must, mention too how well set up the house and contents are. All you need is to settle in. We have already booked to go again next year, our family insists on it!

Short walk to harbour, beach and town which we appreciated as a lot of other places have stayed at have grossly underestimated time to places. We only managed to eat out once due to COVID-19 restrictions, though when we did the Ship Aground was a superb meal and service and would recommend.

  • "The whole process from choosing our holiday home to departure was great."

I used the Sykes app and found it great for making payments on the go from other members of our group holiday. The arrival information was clear and precise with additional support there if needed (which we didn’t!) The day before arriving I had a phone call from our hosts to say hello and enquiring if I would like any additional services or had any questions. That was a really nice touch and Sharon offered to meet us on arrival to run through any queries we may have had. We were running late but had informed Sharon by text, imagine our delight to arrive at the house to a very comprehensive hamper, lights on and the electric fire roaring away! The house was very well equipped and exceedingly comfortable. The beds were WOW, obviously good quality mattresses, which is a must for a good nights sleep! I would definitely recommend Chandlers Yard, a friendly, welcoming home from home. Thank you

Nicely laid out too, with no ‘small bedrooms’ and two bedrooms on each floor. Owner was very kind and helpful, she phoned in advance to check we had everything we would need and there was a lovely welcome basket on arrival. Burry Port itself was quiet with some very friendly people, particularly the dog walkers. The owners were pleasant and helpful. All the facilities worked, tv, wifi, washing machine etc and the location proved a good base for day trips. There are 2 dedicated car spaces and secure yard but our dog wasn't keen with only pebbles. Although generally clean enough we felt some freshening up, simple maintenance and updating would be worthwhile. Its definitely a good holiday let and to be considered. We stayed as a couple plus dog.

Wynn and Sharon met us and walked us round the local area, pointing out the beaches, shops and what was in the house. Sharon had even put out some extra rugby books as we had been to a match the day before and actually helped us get to a 'meet the coaches' session at the Scarlets ground. We have never been disappointed with other Sykes cottages but the comfort, facilities and welcome surpassed any other place we have stayed. excellent wifi for the kids, great comfortable chairs and separate sitting areas worked well with two families at the house. We had not realised there was a garage and storage: we had brought road bikes for cycling and it was such a plus to be able to take them off the car and put away. there was space to dry wet suits and store surf boards too, keeping the sand out of the house. The kitchen was the best stocked I have yet seen! The small pool table was well used and fun, on one wet day there was quite a tournament going on. I did not know the area but it is so beautiful: hills to the north and sandy beaches and the Gower a short drive away: being able to bird watch redshanks and other waders in the harbour out of the front window, and finding lizards in the dunes 2 mins from the house. The canal path cycle track would be ideal for families- off road and flat and takes you to the lovely Pembery country park. Having the leaflets in the dining area was great for planning days out. We are already thinking about another visit: a fabulous house and location with a lovely welcome that enhanced the holiday greatly. thanks so much
