  • "Fantastic stay (weather was dry for easter!"

! after the previous weeks down pours!) the family treated us like friends rather than clients, Cottage had everything that you needed to be a home from home stay, including lovely treats on arrival, abundance of information when asked about local attraction's and where to go, also the information and interaction with the alpaca's was amazing and our two boys had the pleasure of cuddling 6 month old Acorn the alpaca, along with feeding the Angora goats, was a pleasure to allow Lavinia and Martin to share these pictures on the cottage Facebook page, what an amazing experience to have, thank you again to Lavinia and Martin for allowing our family to share their family farm, booking again for August next year as still plenty to explore in the local area, look forward to seeing you all again soon.

We are really glad you had a wonderful time during your stay on the farm. Thank you so much for allowing us to share your pictures on our Facebook page. A super huge thank you to the artist who left us an amazing drawing of an alpaca on our blackboard, it’s brilliant!! We look forward to seeing you and your family next year. • "We had a wonderful stay here."

We have two girls ages 8 and 4 who thoroughly enjoyed their time here. The property itself is lovely, well appointed, has everything you need and the animals are also amazing (especially Cwtch the dog) but by far the biggest attribute are the family who run it. Very kind and down to earth people who were very happy to let our children be involved in the farm as much or as little as they liked, even when their help may have made things take a little longer. The girls had an amazing time and both said afterwards that their favourite part of the holiday (even above the local theme park) was feeding the animals. The local area has loads of things to do and it really is a great base for exploring too. Thanks Lavinia and Martin for a brilliant stay :-)

Thank you so much for your kind words . Martin and I are so glad you all enjoyed your stay at Saddlers Cottage. We enjoyed watching the girls enjoy the animals and that they wanted to help on the farm, even the mucky bits as it’s not often we get volunteers to help clean animal mess, but always welcome. The friendly owners are keen to share their enthusiasm and affection for these fascinating animals and beautiful products are crafted on site.

We are really glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you so much for listening to me waffle on about my alpacas. Also thank you for supporting Property Owner

  • "We had the most amazing holiday at Saddler's Cottage despite not having the best weather."

The thing that stands this cottage out over and above everywhere else we have ever stayed is the animals, especially Cwtch the dog and the owners. I had noticed this had a small fishing lake which was of special interest to my son & husband. They spent many many hours down there fishing and enjoyed the sounds and calmness of this part of Wales. The owners are the most lovely people who exudes a warmth towards you like friends rather than landlords. They are both highly skilled interesting people with a passion for animals and living a calm, wholesome and relaxed life. I could stand and talk to either of them for hours. We loved the freedom that we were allowed to pet the animals, fish and enjoy the surroundings. Away from the cottage, this is superbly located for all areas of South Wales being around 45 mins from most places. We especially loved Carew Castle for the dam wall crabbing, St Govans Chapel near Bosherton (a interesting hike through a live firing range and then a climb down the cliffs) and Saundersfoot (fishing for mackeral off the harbour wall). If only I hadn't already booked a holiday for next Spring then we would be back here like a shot. We'll see you again soon x

Thank you so much for your kind words, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Saddler’s cottage and look forward to seeing you all again. Warm wishes Lavinia x Property Owner

Lots of space. Comfy beds. Great views. Great location for days out or staying on the farm. Martin and Lavina were friendly, welcoming and helpful. They were brilliant with our daughter who loved all of the animals ... especially Cwtch and shadow ( and cuddles!) Highly recommended. We didn't want to leave but we will definitely return. Thank you for a fantastic holiday.

I’m so glad you had a lovely stay and I’m really happy that your little girl enjoyed the animals, she was a great help and cuddles really took to your daughter, I think she was rather sad when she left as they really bonded. Kind regards Lavinia Property Owner

  • "Although we are farmers ourselves it was a bit disappointing to find the cottage right in the midst of the farm buildings as from the pictures it looked like it was on the outer side of the farm, as such there were no views from the cottage itself."

On arrival there was horse droppings and dog mess on the parking area. The owner noticed this and commented on it but sadly it was still there on the day we left a week later! One or two cups had been put away dirty ( which the owner was horrified by when it was brought to their attention) and a good hoover under beds and behind headboards to remove dead flies and cobwebs wouldn`t go amiss. On the plus side the cottage is situated in beautiful countryside, the town of Narberth is a lovely little bustling town with plenty of good places for a tasty lunch and Tenby, Saundersfoot, St. Davids etc are within easy reach and Barafundle Bay at Stackpole is a real gem of a beach. Just a pity the cottage was a let down.

I am so sorry you were disappointed with the cottage on our fibre farm and our free roaming animals ( both points are on the property listing). Nonetheless, my husband and I work our farm by ourselves and there is no excuse for poor workmanship, I did immediately deal with the micro dirt of less than half cm on the one cup and now I am aware of the other points I have reprimanded my husband as he is in charge of the hoovering and farm yard poop picking. The owners made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed and more! We were made to feel very welcome and will definitely be returning in the future. If you have children and they like animals, I cannot recommend this cottage enough. The owners were so kind to our children and allowed them to explore their farm, interact with the farm animals, and pretend to be farmers. Despite visiting beautiful beaches, old castles, and a fairground, the farmyard experience was by far the best experience our children had on holiday and it was all just outside the front door. An incredible experience and our deepest thanks to the owners. We will certainly be back!

Thank you so much for such lovely feedback. We look forward to the boys helping us on the farm next time. Shadow, enjoyed the ice cream and wouldn’t share it with anyone. X Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed the time that we spent at Saddlers Cottage."

The cottage had everything that we needed, The cottage is set within the farm and the kids loved seeing the horses, alpacas, lama, goats, chickens and ducks. They also loved feeding carrots to the horses and donkeys. We all loved the farm dog Cwtch and spent a long time petting him. The cottage is ideally situated to 2 train stations and is close to lots of lovely beaches, you will be spoilt for choice! There are hidden gems close by like the lake at Rosebush. There are also castles and towns all within half an hour drive away. Although it is listed as no wifi, our son managed to create a hotspot in the second bedroom. We were worried that the kids would be bored, and we took a boot load of things for them to do, however we did not have time to use hardly any of it, as we were too busy exploring the nearby area and the farm. The owners were really friendly and laid back. We had a great family break and did not want to leave!

Granddaughter was delighted-especially with Cwtch. - We knew the cottage wasn't huge but hadn't bargained on the furniture being so big and cumbersome and taking up so much room. The dining table in particular caused a lot of bumps and bruises trying to negotiate around it-especially for my granddaughter who was just a toddler. My son-in -law couldn't get his legs under it. We have stayed in farm cottages before and not had a problem. It was really too small for 4 adults and a toddler. Also beware there is a cockerel.

Our two boys Samuel and Theo loved the animals on the farm. Martin & Lavinia were great hosts and couldn't be more helpful. On one very rainy day we visited Folly Farm (20 minute drive away) - on the face of it seems expensive but there is loads to do. Well worth it for families with younger children. We also explored beaches different beaches within a 30 minute drive, Saundersfoot was by far the best one we found. Narberth handy for small shops but if you want a large Tesco / Morrison / Aldi etc then aim for Haverfordwest. All in all a great stay.

  • "Excellent house & hosts."

Very friendly animals, you feel part of the farm. House has everything you need for your stay. Have a few bruises as it’s a tight fit round the furniture and the style of house has lower ceilings. Only other slight negatives would be the tv switches itself off occasionally and the blind in the downstairs toilet is loose and easily mistaken as a light pull so you pull it down. It’s a bit dusty but you are in the middle of fields. The house is well equipped, the hosts even leave you dishwasher tablets and other kitchen cleaning supplies. We bought some eggs from them which were delicious. The location is tucked away and be prepared for close brushes with other vehicles as most roads are single lane but most people are courteous and friendly. Despite location you are 15-20 mins from Oakwood, Folly Farm and other attractions. Tenby is only 30 mins and there is a shop and pub 5 mins away. Would definitely stay again, didn’t feel like you were intruding on the family who also live on the farm. Perfect if you love goats, dogs, horses & donkeys. Even the cockerel came to say good morning!
