  • "We had a wonderful break at Penyrallt."

    The accommodation is top notch with everything you need including a dishwasher, comfy sofas and beds. The hot tub was lovely and the farm and woodland setting just perfect. Jinsy and David were lovely hosts thank you for having us! Would highly recommend a trip to New Quay to see the dolphins and the breakfast at Ffab coffee shop in Llandysul. We hope to visit again soon!

  • "Very lovely rural setting on a working farm ."

    The cottage is very comfortable and had all you require .This was a home from home working farm and was lovely to see all the comings and goings you would expect from farm life.The owners were very approachable and extremely helpful when we had car troubles. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We had a very happy stay there .

  • "A lovely, comfy cottage with lovely features."

    The property was warm and spacious with a well equipped kitchen area, large log burner and great sodas the bed was exceptionally good for a restful sleep. Even though the weather was...inclement to say the least..there were books aplenty. Good walks in the area. A very friendly welcome.

  • "Quaint cottage with everything you need and a very warm welcome from the owners."

    Good chocolate cake on arrival too. Working farm is great to be apart of as you can see the cows being milked and the goats and chicken in the cottage garden. Ideal location as we were touring around and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • "Lovely location, very comfy furniture."

    Disappointed that the hot tub hadn’t been fully cleaned and ready for our arrival, as we did inform by email we would be using it. The floor and seating of hot tub very slippery and slimy, each time we moved green algae floated to the top not very enjoyable. Same with the wood burner not ready for use. Cottage windows need a really good clean and under the furniture especially the sofas seating on them you could clearly see it wasn’t clean underneath.

Please note that the hot tub had been cleaned and refilled with fresh water prior to your arrival as it is for all guests who wish to make use of it. Also it is in the nature of wood to become slightly slippery when wet, so a wooden hot tub will naturally have some slipperyness. J.R. Property Owner

  • "Wonderful welcome by the owners, enjoyed being amongst the family and a true farming experience."

    The cottage felt like a real retreat away from busy life. Everything we needed was available in the cottage and we had plenty of wood for the hottub and log fire. Slept like a dream of those comfortable beds, we shall definitely be returning to this special place

  • "We had a lovely time at the cottage, our hosts were welcoming and friendly, providing us with recommendations on the local area."

    The cottage had everything we needed for our stay and it was very cosy and comfortable, we both slept well in the bed, we even fired up the hot tub one evening which was very relaxing after a days cycling along the coast. Highly recommended and I would definitely like to visit again in the future.

  • "We had a lovely stay in this quirky little cottage."

    Friendly greeting from the owners and from the neighbouring goat in the paddock opposite. Clean throughout. With a modern yet traditional feel and look. Fire gives it a nice homely feel too. We also visited a couple of the local pubs, both with friendly staff and locals. Will definitely be back in the future.

  • "We had a very relaxing and peaceful break in this cosy cottage."

    The owners were pleasant and welcoming. This was a great environment to escape and breathe fresh air. Recommend a visit to the Woolen Mill which is very interesting, free admission and a large cafe. Also good woodland walks to be found in Llandysul. Thanks for a truly enjoyable holiday which we thoroughly recommend to others.

  • "The cottage was absolutely wonderful so cozy with a roaring fire in the evening while listening to the wind and rain outside :) It was a country kitchen style which was lovely, with the added bonus of being on a working farm hearing the animals."

    The bed was comfortable as were the settees in the living room. Over all an enjoyable few days.

The property

Penyrallt Fach Cottage is situated on a fully working organic dairy farm overlooking the beautiful Teifi Valley, near the village of Llandysul, in west Wales.

The cottage offers comfortable accommodation for a small family or group of friends to use as a base to discover lovely north Carmarthenshire, an area of great natural beauty.

The stunning coastline of Cardigan Bay with its superb beaches and the All Wales Coast Path, is a short drive away as are many attractive small towns and villages.

There are any number of lovely walks in the area along the River Teifi or up in the Cambrian Mountains.

The Preseli Hills of Pembrokeshire are within easy reach for wonderful days out walking and the cathedral city of St. David's, the smallest city in Britain, is reachable with a lovely drive south. The cottage, a former 19th century piggery, has great character and charm.

It is adjacent to, but quite separate from, the 17th century traditional farmhouse and range of fine stone 19th century farm buildings.

All the buildings, including the cottage, are Grade 2 listed.

In the cottage there is an open-plan kitchen and sitting-room with wooden flooring, a fully equipped kitchen with a large farmhouse table and two comfortable sofas for relaxing in front of the wood-burning stove.

Much of the furniture and fittings have been made by the owners from timber harvested from the woods on the farm. There are two bedrooms, each with hand-made wooden beds, one king-size and one single, made up with luxurious goose-down duvets and locally made Welsh wool coverlets. The cottage has a lawned garden overlooking a paddock and a pond.

There are lovely views north over the woods and farmland of the Teifi Valley towards the small village of Llandysul and the surrounding area.

There is a wood-fired hot tub in the garden for enjoying fine evenings, with a favourite drink, out of doors watching the bats flying and listening for the owls which live on the farm along with much other bird-life. Penyrallt Fach Cottage can be found at the end of a half-mile driveway off the main road to Llandysul and is a perfect place to unwind from city stresses and to discover a little known corner of Wales with much fascinating history and spectacular countryside and coastline.

The National Wool Museum, in the nearby village of Drefach Velindre, is well worth visiting, and for shopping, Newcastle Emlyn and the historic port town of Cardigan offer a range of independent shops and good places to eat.

A visit to Castell Henllys, a reconstructed Neolithic settlement, near Newport in north Pembrokeshire is highly recommended and here are many superb castles and historic sites to visit in the area.

For exciting days out, book a boat trip from Newquay or Cardigan, to see dolphins and seals in the waters of Cardigan Bay.

Llandysul is a vibrant market town with a selection of shops, tea rooms and pubs, and even its own canoeing centre (Llandysul Paddlers) and national cycle route 82. Visit nearby New Quay or one of the numerous beaches on the Cardiganshire, Carmarthenshire or Pembrokeshire coastline. Boat trips to spot dolphins, whitewater rafting or a trip on a steam railway may appeal, or how about a day out to explore all the historic castles, mills and formal gardens? A wonderful base for touring this delightful area of Wales.
